OK, another step on the road to legitimacy for Palestine- another step down the road to isolationism for the US of AIPAC. In voting against Palestine becoming a member of an organization tuned towards education, science and culture the US of AIPAC has convinced even more world States that it has taken leave of its senses. It has abandoned respect and authority in favor of standing with the ethnic cleansing and apartheid policies of the reviled Israelis. It's senseless. There is nothing to gain and much to lose by such an ill-advised a spiteful vote.

    Lol...

I live in the Province of Quebec, in Canada. We, as the Nation of Quebec (yes we are recognised as a nation), we have a seat at the Unseco. Nothing fantastic about that.

We are still part of Canada and light years away from gaining independence.

UNESCO is only a discussion forum. It doesn't produce anything worthwhile which is why they accept almost anybody who ask to join.

I think Palestine should have a seat on the International Whaling Commission too. That will bring them closer to a homeland won't it?

And the US of "A" is already threatening to stop funds if the UNESCO goes through with it.

It's their money... They can fund or not whatever they want for any reason they want. Ask the saudi, they have money too...

Friend, haha, half of us in this country are so over the UN that they shouldn't say (*)(*)(*)(*) to us.

    "They" being who? AIPAC?

Huh? They aren't saying anything to the US of "A". This doesn't even involve the US of "A"....

They being the american public who elected democraticaly the government that represent them.

UNESCO in particular, and the UN in general are money sink anyway. They don't really serves any function in the world today. The first world do most of their dealing through the G8 & G10. No one care for the opinion of Botswana or some other insignificant third world country.

    Scrap the UN.

When ever anyone accuses the US of being under the control of AIPAC, ya just gotta laugh.

Apparently, the jews can lord it over the only superpower left in the world by giving members of congress a couple of thousand each and "delivering" something far less than 1% of the votes.

But what is even funnier is that the jews are so powerful that they also influence and direct arab dictators to crush dissent and religious fanatics to promote the benefits of death to arab youth. They make sure that palestinian leadership is totally incompetent and that they repeatedly dance to the jews tune when required. the jews are so powerful and adept at this kind of global domination that the poor arabs, muslims and jew haters don't have the faintest clue how manipulated they are.

Some people try hard and others are just born that way.

Yes, what an incredible slide into the sewers of Zionism. For what other reason would the US of AIPAC not want Palestine associated with Education, Science and Culture except that it diminishes the pressure of the neoZionist jackboot. Shame on America. Again.

The Egyptian Revolution was nothing more than a military coup. Heal thyself.

Most revolutions tend to involve a militaristic element; The English one, the French, the American one. I could go on.

Tell us your own objections, Liebe, to the Palestinians being associated with education, science and culture through UNESCO.

Must be horrible for Palestinians to be educated with culture and involved with science. The US position on this is puzzling.

' Puzzling ', yes. Could it be that the US of AIPAC government , under Zionist pressure, is becoming overtly racist ?

C'mon, Americans, kick your ' representatives' ' asses.

I bet they will. UNESCO has about 200 member states. The US has 1 vote and is paying 22% of the UNESCO budget. This must immediately stop regardless of the status of the Palestinian membership (which has nothing to do with the UNESCO charter and is nothing more than a backdoor to the recognition of the Palestinian state).

The US does not have any money to pay UNESCO. America is broke and its position on Palestine is silly, puzzling, incorrect and, as moon pointed out, likely racist. It doesn't make any sense to oppose for Palestinians to be educated, scientific and cultural.
