    Meaning? They aren't capable of understanding it??

    Silly argument... That's both demeaning and putting all kids in the same bucket...

    I understand that poem isn't for everybody, but if it doesn't harm anybody (as it clearly doesn't) why not make it available to the adventurous or curious 5th or 6th grader.

    Or does everybody need to advance at the exact same pace??

    How many elementary school classes do you know teach trigonometry? Or physics? Or thermodynamics? Or advanced English literature?

    Maybe I wasn’t clear at all when I said this, so let me try this again.

    Kids learn basic subjects in elementary school, then they learn slightly more advanced ones in middle school then more advanced in high school and so on. This goes for all subjects, from science to math to literature.

    This should’ve been a very simple explanation.

    Ms. Gorman, even with all her skill and talent in poetry, failed to include a line or two of praise for Mr. Donald Trump in her poem. We are witness to the result.

    She is young yet, and I'm sure she has the ability to learn from her mistakes.
