He is overstating the number of Christians as there is 2.18 billion Christians around the world....not 3 Billion.

As well there are 1.2 Billion Unaffiliated to ANY RELIGION people in the world.

Of those disciples deaths that are 'recorded' most are 'by tradition', and then only 3 were crucified. 2 were stoned or beaten to death, 1 impaled by spear, 1 killed with the sword, 1 hung himself and 2 we have no record at all and at least 2 died naturally.

 

Numbers game is a loser, if he's trying to use it as "evidence for which is the TRUE religion". Given Christianity (nor any religiion) has no majority and even that is a low plurality (33%). Plus even within Christianity there are some strong sectarian disagreements....Protestantism vs. Catholicism vs. Mormonism vs. Orthodox. He believes in Bible Literalism; there are Christians who don't. Further dividing it.

True...as well these numbers are taking Family specific calculations such as if a Mother and Father are devout members of a Christian Church they will also list that couples 3 kids as Christians but as most people know....a 22 year old, 18 year old and 15 year old kids living in this day and age even IF they are the Children of devout Christian parents are HIGHLY UNLIKELY to all be or even a majority or any consider themselves to be Christians.

The current state of youths between 13 and 30 who had Church going parents are at over a 90% rate youths who no longer go to Church and no longer consider themselves religious.

This fact can be easily seen in the U.S. and Canada as well as in Europe where Church closings are at AN ALL TIME HIGH as many Christian Churches of all sects of Christianity have been consolidating with 1 or 2 other churches as 1 church remains open and the other 2 churches are de-consecrated and sold as Business Real estate.

Personal anecdote, I dated a Latina who said she was a Catholic....but she only went to Church (for confession) once in the three months we dated and ...uh...well...Catholic teachings on premarital relations didn't deter her either.

Yet, by ths pure counting, she'd be listed as a Catholic in a survey. As would Catholic women who use contraception despite Church teachings. Or Catholics who supported the Iraq war, are pro-choice, etc.

As I noted on "literalists vs. non-literalsits", you start throwing in "people who believe, but don't believe SOME things", the label "Christian" gets even thinner.

Yes I am on record saying that God is done creating and I said that in this latest post God is still creating. God is done creating He has already left it to us to continue that art of creation and at the same time God is still creating new universe.

 

Also of note....if we consider the opinions of Christians as to the number of fellow Christians who are actual Christians, a recent Gallop poll clearly shows there are actually only six(6) Christians in the entire world, all of which live in Wichita Kansas and coincidentally have the same last name.

1. Humans are not apes
2. Humans did not evolved from apes humans and apes were created or evolved within their own kind just like birds, fish, insects evolved within their own kind
3. The theory of ape started during the colonial European years and was use to as a political tool to push for White Colonial Euorpe superiority over the new discovered lands
4. Ancient China, India or Japan their scientist never accepted the Darwin theory.
5. Christianity has been in the forefront of science and medicine it is responsible in the expansion of modern civilization that also led to the evolution of atheism
6. Atheism can not survive in none Christian lands because Christian tolerate and accept freedom and being atheist is part of that freedom (communist is not atheist they consider their leader god)
7. Noah flood was written at a time when there exist no university language or grammar writing system no sophisticated mathematical system no modern calenders it was written in pure honesty and base on actual event an event that serve as a a road map to understand better ways to protect and preserve earth and humanity.

 

You know it doesn't matter how many times you say Human's are not APES...as no matter how many times you say we are not apes it will not change THE FACT that we are indeed apes.

A British Council survey into awareness of Charles Darwin and attitudes towards evolution has found that there is a broad international consensus of acceptance towards his theory of evolution In six out of ten countries including Argentina (57%),China (72%), Great Britain (62%), India (77%), Mexico (65%) and Spain (61%), the majority of people who had heard of Charles Darwin and know something about his theory of evolution agreed with the opinion that ‘enough scientific evidence exists to support Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution’, compared to an overall average across all the countries surveyed of 56 percent.

Re the post some pages back about there being 4 or so different gods being referred to in the OT, this is probably a consequence of the varying literary styles of the many different authors of these books and the large distances in time and regions as well, and not necessarily writing about different gods. Not a big deal, but something worth considering when dealing with alleged variations between books of the Bible; this applies to other 'differences' as well. Luke and Mathew cover some of the same territories, but there is a large difference in phrasing and literary styles, and their differences tend to compliment each other; they aren't talking about different Jesuses.
