The Constitution prohibits Congress from establishing a religion, as in England. What you imagine as making laws on the basis of religion is simply the right of Christians to take part in public policy debates. The Rev. ML King did that.

Here's some from Adams and Jefferson you left out:

"Suppose a nation in some distant Region should take the Bible for their only law Book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God ... What a Eutopia, what a Paradise would this region be."
--Diary and Autobiography of John Adams, Vol. III, p. 9.

"The general principles, on which the Fathers achieved independence, were the only Principles in which that beautiful Assembly of young Gentlemen could Unite, and these Principles only could be intended by them in their address, or by me in my answer. And what were these general Principles? I answer, the general Principles of Christianity, in which all these Sects were United: And the general Principles of English and American Liberty, in which all those young Men United, and which had United all Parties in America, in Majorities sufficient to assert and maintain her Independence.

"Now I will avow, that I then believe, and now believe, that those general Principles of Christianity, are as eternal and immutable, as the Existence and Attributes of God; and that those Principles of Liberty, are as unalterable as human Nature and our terrestrial, mundane System."
--Adams wrote this on June 28, 1813, excerpt from a letter to Thomas Jefferson.

"The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever."
--Adams wrote this in a letter to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776.

    Thomas Jefferson
3rd U.S. President, Drafter and Signer of the Declaration of Independence

"God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the Gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever; That a revolution of the wheel of fortune, a change of situation, is among possible events; that it may become probable by Supernatural influence! The Almighty has no attribute which can take side with us in that event."
--Notes on the State of Virginia, Query XVIII, p. 237.

"I am a real Christian – that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus Christ."
--The Writings of Thomas Jefferson, p. 385.

Even though Jefferson was a flake when it came to religion and not representative of the Founders, he authorized the use of federal money to pay for Christian missionaries to Indians in the Northwest Territories. The first quote above by Jefferson shows he was not even a deist, who think God has no hand in human affairs.

Cite in which way I want to do that, or be man enough to retract.

Far from seeing Christianity as a danger, they wanted to foster it insofar as it did not infringe unduly on others. This is from Joseph Story, SCOTUS justice appointed by James Madison, the 'Father of the Constitution':

§ 1868. Probably at the time of the adoption of the constitution, and of the amendment to it, now under consideration, the general, if not the universal, sentiment in America was, that Christianity ought to receive encouragement from the state, so far as was not incompatible with the private rights of conscience, and the freedom of religious worship. An attempt to level all religions, and to make it a matter of state policy to hold all in utter indifference, would have created universal disapprobation, if not universal indignation.

El (Ellil, Elyon, Enlil) Chief God of the Sumerian Pantheon. This was the God worshiped by Abraham's ancestors (and likely Abraham). This was also the God worshiped by the Israelites when they were supposedly in Egyptian captivity and in later times by the Israelites.

    YHWH was one of El's sons ... Psalm 82 Deuteronomy 32:8 http://www.thedivinecouncil.com/DT32BibSac.pdf

There were no dinosaurs. God planted the oil, knowing we'd need it later. Or there were dinosaurs, I believe those who believe the bible literally call em dragons. And they turned into oil in the last few thousand years.
I don't know, but Mitt knows.

If it isn't make believe and made up, see world wide cannibalism, then it isn't real.
Reality is just a theory. LOL.

Have you never heard of the "Jefferson Bible" ?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jefferson_Bible

I too think that many of the principles Jesus espouses were fantastic. This problem is that Christianity often does not follow these principles in general.

Jefferson recognized ( as a smart person does with any philosophy) the good and the bad.

The question here is not "what is good" but what is the bad ideology that Christianity adopted that caused it to commit so many atrocities over 1000 years on the name of God.

The founders did not want laws based on religion and stated so.

When the founders referred to the "Creator" they were referring to a generic God.

Christianity does not follow "the general principles of Christianity" that Jefferson was referring to.

Quite the gullible one. Of course in reality I know there were dinosaurs. But WR and you had a hard time with reality so I was jiving him.
And yes I paid attention in 1st grade, especially when they talked about rock formations and mountain ranges. How about you. Never mind, I already know the answer. LOL. That would be no.

    - - - Updated - - -

Try reading yours and WR posts. You will get a fill of silly posts.

Oh soooooo silly. One of the silliest posts I've seen. How many choose to be in hell? Very very few. Now some have a belief system that thinks that way, but they are messed up. Brainwashed so to speak. Many many will choose eternal bliss.

This is actually in the bible, so I'm certain you won't believe it but,
    ◄ Mark 15:7 ►
    Parallel Verses
    New International Version
A man called Barabbas was in prison with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the uprising.

No mention or accusation of rape. To think it is pure fantasy.

Science won?...won what? Science is not the final authority of anything to do with the Holy Bible, nor are the opinions of anyone.

Contested what story? What Jewish sages...what are their names? How many of them are we talking about? Are they from the old biblical days or are they here with us now in the present? Are you just making stuff up? I say this because you say a lot of things that who knows where they come from...perhaps it comes from your biased flawed imagination.

None of us mortals have 100% of all knowledge, the only being that has it, is Almighty God our Creator the Supreme Being!

Not if one understands that the first seven durations were not solar days.

The Solar clock did not appear until the fourth duration.
The proper understanding of genesis is to use the Geological Clock of Eras.
Then, understand the first duration to be from the Big Bang until the Earth took the form of a sphere.

That choice, then, would be to use Truth as a guide to avoid Extinction.

History shows us that few have done so.
Man is still man's worst enemy.

The Old Testament preached the Golden Rule.
That was nothing new from Jesus.

    "Love thy enemy," was new.
Muslims never paid heed to that, "Love thy enemies."

Muslims deny the crucifixion of Jesus.

Muslims deny the resurrection of Jesus.

    Muslims deny the Gospels.

Muslims deny the Gospels be preached over all the world, and the end comes.

    Muslims deny the Eucharist.

Muslims deny Christ was the son-of-god.

Muslims deny Jesus said that man can become the son-of-god.

Muslims deny salvation by faith in The Truth.

Muslims deny that in 32AD, Elijah returned from Heaven as an immortal, one who never died.

    Hmmm,...
Rev Martin Luther King found those people capable of recognizing the truth when they heard it.

The changed American Civil Rights because of the truth.

I am surprised that you would ask as if you didn't know that the ancient Jewish sages made that observation before the time of Christ.. Human beings are not necessarily stupid just because they worship God.

    A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!

I am AGNOSTIC as anyone who follows the Scientific Method worth their salt would be.

Because of this I KNOW it cannot be proven that a GOD or even GODS....exist or do not exist.

BUT....most Old Testament, Torah or Koran stories can be proven to be PHYSICAL AND SCIENTIFIC IMPOSSIBILITIES.

I asked you who were these Jewish sages? What were their names? How many of them are we talking about? If you can't answer these questions then it's rather obvious out of the thin air you made it up.

I have never implied that, all I have really said is that none of us have 100% of all knowledge...regardless if one is religious or non-religious.

And so if you are saying now that these Jewish sages were worshippers of God in ancient times then your statement below is exactly what I thought...made up by you.

Anybody who disagreed with their religious dogma were deemed heretics and so they wouldn't have agreed with men of science if they opposed any doctrines due to their scientific perspectives.

All I know about king Omri from Scripture is that he did what was evil in the Lord's sight and he was the most evil of all the kings before him.

The Scriptures give us a clear understanding that the body of water the Israelites crossed was a large and deep body of water, and the only one in that area fitting that description is the Red Sea.

Many other scholars believe the Exodus story as a true historical event for coming out of the "bondage of slavery" from the hands of Egypt's Pharaoh.
