I am just relating what story of Job says. Do not blame me that Satan and God are depicted as being on good terms with each other and Satan as not acting outside of the boundaries God sets.

Just because you do not like what the Bible says is not reason to make up your own version.

A whole lot more than you.

I went to Damascus a hundred years ago with my parents.. There were claims (competing claims) that John the Baptist's head was buried there.. and I remember the Street Called Strait. Its a pity, isn't it? I really want to go to Yemen, but its far too dangerous.

Another deception. Both passages refer to Israel, the suffering servant. I've already told you that so what you quote is a lie. It is Christian interpretation.
Now you contradict yourself. You quote 'While there is no single passage that says directly that the Messiah will rise again on the third day................' Then you quote Luke as saying Jesus said 'Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day."---Luke 24:46 NLT
Luke wasn't there. He never met Jesus.
If there is no passage to say that how can Jesus say 'It was written long ago..'

The usual answer to that would be 'Well it was planned by God before the world began'.

Side stepping? What do you mean by that? I'm answering questions as I go along these threads of mine. Up to this point there has been over 18 thousand responses, and so I'm always going to be behind unless no one comes to these threads to add further questions/comments then of course in a years time I will eventually catch up.

Hey have you been peeking in lately? We're on thread 26 now, when you first visited we were on thread 8...are you upset that these threads keeps on trucking along?...lol

That's your opinion I know nothing of God but I do know something of God, I mean after all He has spoken to us through His best selling book of all time...the Holy Bible.

He has revealed Himself to the world through the birth, life, teachings from His ministry, the miracles He performed, and the death and resurrection of our Lord Savior Jesus Christ.

Again you are spewing off your opinions. What?...you are going to present the following in an attempt to see what my qualifications are? Who do you think you are?..some kind of an atheistic detective or something?...lol

You should do something more constructive for your own good and benefit. Go and read the Holy Bible, if you read it with an open mind you will be enlightened to the truth!

The story of Job is far older than scripture.. really .. Even the Jews don't know how old the story is.

Crikey. Your parents were brave to go to the Middle East in 1914 with WWI under way. I'm trying to imagine how a centenarian+ would get to the Yemen

I've never enjoyed heat but I suppose I would cope with it if occupied with sightseeing and learning. I must say I would like to demolish a lot of Jerusalem to see what was in the layers underneath. Is the Ark hidden somewhere. Is 'supposed' Aarons rod still budding. Has the Shewbread gone mouldy. Are there any signs ancient buildings of the flint workers there 10,000 years ago?
Come to think of it, did Solomon drop a few pieces of silver or gold. Need a metal detector.

I realized that actually ! That is one of the things that makes it such a cool story.

I like the interplay between the Gods.

The story is clearly in keeping with Israelite belief that El was the head of a Pantheon. The scene involving numerous "Sons of God" having some kind of ceremony in heaven or paying homage to the Chief God is very interesting and of course in keeping with the beliefs of the day.

What is also quite interesting is the "Father -Son" relationship that God has with Satan. God is presented with very human characteristics which is no surprise because that is how the Gods were portrayed back in the day.

Also that Satan is shown as respecting the boundaries that God sets.

Satan being sent by God to test Job has an interesting parallel with Satan's testing of Jesus. Mark does not say that God sent Satan to test Job but chance are IMO, that this was what the original version stated or at least this was something that would have been implied/understood by the Jewish reader at the time.

Satan is not some really bad guy in the OT. It is later Pauline Christianity that turns him into a monster.

The whole thinking surrounding "Good and Evil" in relation to the Gods changes with Christianity. God is stripped of any human characteristics it becomes a black vs white thing with no grey.

Why? He didn't resurrect himself, it was the divine power of Jesus that brought Lazarus back to life. Furthermore Lazarus eventually died a 2nd time, this time he didn't resurrect for a 2nd time. I know there is no where in Scripture where we learn that Lazarus resurrected for a 2nd time.

Syfys you see in movies don't count...lol

So bones resurrect and live?...lol What syfy movie did you watch and saw this?...lol

I'm talking about resurrection from the dead and you bring up reincarnation?...fyi they're not the same thing, unless you distort and spin their definitions.

What?... according to Revelation? You mean according to you making up something. Scripture never mentions Nero.

The question of why the Righteous suffer has been debated in various forms and arguments since ancient Sumeria. Different complaints, different arguments but always the same question.WHY do I suffer when I lead a righteous life. There never has been an answer and probably never will be. At least most of the people end up OK.

Job is purely a story in the same genre.

Of course it doesn't. But then you don't understand that Revelations is considered by many Biblical students to be a reference to that time, events - and to Rome - villian of the piece. Written in a way not recognised by Rome itself, but by the Jews. Not the End times you think of.
    You really ought to learn.

Don't be so sarcastic. Oh why not. It suits your type of Christianity. The discussion was on death, or not dying. Nothing about resurrection.
You really are a sad human being.

And with that I'm off to bed.

I took it as reality that you knew the fairy tale. Maybe you have forgotten the Ezekiel story.

    Ezekiel 37:1-14 (MSG) = https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ezekiel+37:1-14&version=MSG

Salvation is achieved by how each religion believes. Prove otherwise. Never mind, you can't.
And I said they make the same claim, they can reach salvation. The means are different.
Some here don't think god is jesus. Doesn't seem to make a difference to christians. They all still can get salvation. Tell me I'm wrong.
The one true god is the god of abraham for 3 religons. For the rest of the world they have something different. And they're correct. Just like you think you are.

Jesus lied about prayer at least nine times. And when are you going to tell a mountain to jump into the sea and have it do as you commanded it to do?

I'm still waiting for you to reply about the what the oldest celestial object is in the universe.

The thing with you is that you have trouble when to take passages in Scripture literally. But don't feel bad, it's a common problem among the unbelievers who are not well versed in Scripture.

The story of the Valley of Dry Bones in the Book of Ezekiel is not to be taken in a literal sense. God gave the prophet Ezekiel a vision, it was a prophesy regarding the restoration of Israel to come in the future. I know you have a hard time understanding Scripture. Have you ever considered taking a course in Bible study? It would help you tremendously with your understanding of Scripture to interpret it correctly.

In the meantime if you are interested in finding out what is the meaning behind the story of the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel 37 refer to the link provided below coming from my favorite Christian website. They will give you a thorough explanation and expand on the tidbit of insight that I have already given you above.

When Jesus shows up his creatures will protect and save humanity, restore all kinds of environmental purity and nature , kill all evil and save the world. Satan and many of his people will try to stop the triumph of good and they will fail. And then only certain Jews and all those who accept Jesus will get into the golden cube called New Jerusalem. Every evil no matter where they hide will get tossed into the lake of fire.

    Its Biblical evil will lose.

How do you know Paul was referring to is Caesar? Which Caesar there were many Caesars some evil ones some not so evil?
Yes, Caesar did not recognize the authority of Jesus Christ of God that is why Paul could not be referring to them. Instead Paul was referring to the evil and pagan rulers of Rome should submit themselves to God's authority not the other way around.

Your make up stuff once again as usual conflicts with Biblical historicity.

Oh no I am not blaming you I know that you do not know what you are doing and that you are susceptible to wrongly understand the Bible in this case the story of Job the Bible is very clear that Satan tried every evil deeds he can to make Job turn against God and Satan failed. It is about good and evil, it is about God and Satan and Job set a very good example to all Christians to always trust in God. "In God We Trust"

I am sure you know a lot about Catholicism that is why your information is limited to selective Christian history.
