not quite what the Bible teaches.

Jesus was a Jewish Teacher. Christianity has raised this teacher to divinity. Nothing in the Old Testament refers to Jesus.
Sodom and Gommorah were destroyed by volcanic/earthquake activity. The 5 cities mentioned stand at the north end of the Great Rift Valley fault which stretches from Central Africa to the Dead Sea. . Nothing to do with God.
Much of the Old Testament is stories written around known places like Sodom and Gommorah.

The Great Commission was a later addition to the Bible.

You are right about the geology of the Rift Valley and the destruction of the cities there.... probably long before the story of Abraham and Lot.

    ...yep...

Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name, (Trinity, 325AD).

What about Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord???

Jesus duplicated everything that Elijah had experienced in 800BC.

    We've been all through this.

Read the rest of Malachi 4. Did any of it happen in Jesus time? 2500 years after Malachi - and have the Jews trampled down the wicked? Even of their own people? They still wait the return of Elijah.
The great and dreadful day will see Israel under seige, and then Yahweh will intervene to give them victory.
Of course Christians/Islam also believe that God/Allah will intervene on their behalf.

So jesus, god and the hs, are like our gov't. Prez, house, and senate.
Where is the claim he is on the same level? Did I miss it.
And when did Jesus speak greek? If you want to translate what jesus said, you have to go to the hebrew words.
And I'm not aware jesus is on the same level as god in heaven either. For he sits at the right hand, according to the bible. I'd say he's on the same level as Lucifer is/was.

No, I don't. What is 'Too conflicting terms'?
    Tripe is
    Full Definition of TRIPE

    1
: stomach tissue especially of a ruminant (as an ox) used as food
    2
: something poor, worthless, or offensive

I get to cherry pick which definition to use, just like you do.

    - - - Updated - - -

Some innocence of lot and his family.
His wife disobeys god in the 1st hour by turning around and looking, and his daughters screw lot's brains out.

    Funny thing this righteous term.

Salt is used as a metaphor for purification and it was used in religious rituals. Lot's wife was in fact the only righteous person in the group and she was shown to be perfect by being turned into a pillar of salt. Lot and his daughters went on to fall into sin, having lost their original salvation. They eventually came to a sorry end. The story explores the question of salvation. If a person is once saved can he lose his salvation by his subsequent actions? The story says that he can.

Jesus spoke Greek and Aramaic... Hebrew was very nearly a dead language after the Babylonian exile... Remember the Decapolis and that they were prosperous unlike Jerusalem.

Most of the NT is written in Greek and Aramaic.

Or why even create evil in the 1st place. Being the omni all being? And knowing full well ahead of time what the outcome is.

How, where, when did jesus learn greek?
Who would he speak greek to?
Did his disciples speak greek? The authors of the gospels speak and write greek? They were all illiterate.

    OK, I found this.
    http://www.patheos.com/blogs/markdroberts/series/what-language-did-jesus-speak-why-does-it-matter/

So aramic is most certain, greek is possible.

No need. I did a little research. Greek is a possibility. I edited my earlier response.

As I understand it.. Greek was the lingua franca and Aramaic was the language of trade.. Hebrew was nearly extinct except for religious stuff in Jerusalem.

The Greek language was known to the Egyptians, and the Apostle Mark serve as the interpreter of the Apostle, Peter, before arriving in Egypt where he founded a Greek Church as well. I don't think all of them could read or write Greek, according to available info, but Mark definitely knew how to read and write, and likely spoke Greek as well.

A typo... or are you being like I have been accused of being ... "a grammar nazi"?
Except you seem to have overlooked the context.
If you believe that he meant "offensive" (as you have highlighted), he also had the option of making a report to the moderators... at which point it would have been at their discretion. Short of that, to state that it was offensive would also be an appeal to emotions.

    Full definition of tripe is:
    "tripe
    (traɪp)

    n. 1. the first and second divisions of the stomach of a ruminant, esp. oxen or sheep used as food.
    2. Slang. something, esp. speech or writing, that is false or worthless. [/quote]

    Now which one is correct?

They were NOT illiterate. Every Jewish Male had some schooling. How do you think Jesus was able to debate with the teachers in the Synagogue. Jewish boys had to be able to read and know the Tanakh by the time they were 13.
They were then considered adults and after their Bar Mitvah expected to be able to read from the Scroll in the Synagogue.
Did the traders of the time not know how to read and calculate. Was Matthew the tax collecter illiterate. Even fishermen needed some education.

Why do we always assume these people were ignorant? Is it because WE want to believe it. Does it suit us to believe we are superior?

Because many of the disciples were fishermen. 2000 yrs ago. Not much for schooling back then.

Even fishermen knew how to read an write. Do study up on the age. What did they do before they were old enough to go fishing. How did they learn the Tanakh which was a necessity? Jesus was a carpenters son. He stooped and wrote on the ground if you remember. At 13 he was able to confound the Temple rulers (so were told).
Josephus was a Jew, and he managed very well. Philo Judaeus was a Jewish historian of the time, he managed very well. Justus of Tiberias was a Jewish Historian of the time, and he managed very well. Paul was the son of a tentmaker (believed to have been moved from Palestine to Tarsus by the Romans) and he managed very well.

Young Jewish boys started formal education at the age of 5, learning to read and write. Usually taught by a Rabbi. At the age of 9 they started learning the Law. After 13 they could go on to higher education with a 'Rabbi' - often on a one-to-one basis - if bright enough.

Actually, the Old Testament does refer to Jesus. The Prophets write very heavily about the coming "Messiah", or, in Greek, "Christos". They never call him Jesus by name, but it does refer to him.

As to the 5 cities, I honestly have no idea either way.

And you're gonna need some proof that the Great Commission came later. I'm not saying you're wrong, but you just need proof.

Israel is the "suffering servant"... and Jesus doesn't fulfill the prophesy for an anointed warrior king like David who will drive out the Romans.

The word "Messiah" is an English rendering of the Hebrew word Mashiach, which means "anointed." It usually refers to a person initiated into God's service by being anointed with oil. (Exodus 29:7, 1-Kings 1:39, 2-Kings 9:3)
The Septuagint translated the word Mashiach (anointed) to the Greek Christos (anointed). Christianity assumed the title for Jesus.
Of course the Tanakh writes heavily about the Messiah. They were expecting a Messiah.
Mashiach (anointed one) is the term for the Jewish Messiah. Jesus did not conform to the scriptures or even the lineage of David from whom the Messiah would come.

If you look it up you will find that proof.

Matthew and Luke both show his lineage as that of David. And the Bible shows Him conforming to the prophecies, such as being born in Bethlehem, being born of a virgin, dying on a cross, etc.

I'm gonna need a bit more than that.
