I don't know if Mitt realises it but he is making his god look foolish, and if there is a god I don't think he is that.

'And God looked over all that he had made, and saw that it was good'. If god created man good but with the ability to be evil, it wasn't very good. Especially as he knew what was going to happen. Even man doesn't make a machine deliberately with the capability of going wrong.

Mitt ??? What on earth are you talking about. Do you have any clue how ignorant you are of the Bible ?

Have you never read Ecclesiastes ? The whole message of Ecclesiastes is that "life is meaningless".

Why do you insist on speaking for "All Christians" and speaking for God ?

All Christians do not have the same scriptural ignorance as you and therefor do not hold your ignorant positions.

Not all Christians believe that God is some contradictory flip flopping monster with the most petty of human characteristics which is what your belief system necessitates.

It does not have to be this way Mitt. There are other paths where you can maintain your belief in God and Jesus and not make God out to be some monster and not be in constant denial of logic and rational thought.

Do you believe "god" refers to Reality, as it unfolds moment by moment for us?

If not, then how would you explain this phenomenon in regard to your own understanding of what ever you call "God?"
What is "god" to you?

It is meaningless until it is threatened.
Our primary instinct is Survival.

This is why Truth is our savior.

Truth tells us about the Reality we must adapt to to survive as a species.

Kind of whats wrong with the story and God being omni everything.
God saw it was good, but knowing in the times of Noah all would be evil and wicked and he would have to destroy all that he thought was good at creation.
Doesn't make sense.

That's simply because the God character of the Bible was the series of emperors who ruled the Middle East area in ancient times. There was no invisible sky deity flitting around whispering in nut jobs' ears about this and that.

"God," or reality always does the same ting when a species is not "good."
Extinction.

That was what "God" did to Neanderthal men, 40 millennium ago,... as Modern man flooded out of Africa.

In spite of your personal opinion on the bibles, what do you believe is almighty for our species,... if it is not Reality, as it unfolds each moment???

I'm still wondering how religious people can believe the stories in the Bible. I wonder, do they think the stories are just parables (that's what I believe), or do they actually believe some (or all) of those outrageous stories? Jesus "rose from the dead?" Or perhaps he was just unconscious? Moses parted the sea? Hmmm. I'm doubtful about that one. Noah's ark? How would he have fit ALL of those animals on a boat? How would they feed all those people and animals? A lot of them must have been grazers, and there is no grass growing on a boat!

The Noah story as written is silly and was a useless exercise because the God character is going to kill all life in the area according to Zephaniah chapter 1. So the idea of Noah saving the animals and a handful of people was just a waste of time. They will all be wiped off the face of the Earth.

This is one possibility. There are certainly others.

Imagine a planet circling around some foreign star. Now imagine that this planet is in the zone where life similar to that as we know it can exist.

Now try and describe what one of those living entities did this morning when they woke up (assuming they sleep at all).

This what it is like trying to describe God. We can make up stories and speculation but at the end of the day were have no clue what God was thinking when he/she/it woke up this morning.

It is according to the Bible, let's not forget the Bible is the Word of God. And let's also not forget the Bible consists of the Old Testament as well as the New Testament.

Unfortunately people who do not understand the Bible say the things you say that pleases the enemy (Satan). Some even go as far to say (which is the hollywood version) that we all go to heaven, that is so far from the truth. The truth is the believers spend eternity with God in heaven while the unbelievers are separated from God for all eternity in hell.

Yes that is true, God is love. But we must not forget God's other attributes. He is also a God of wrath who hates sin.

True, He doesn't lie.

This applies to only those who believe in Him, and not to the unbelievers who do not fear Him because of their disbelief.

Again this only applies to the believers and not to the unbelievers.

True, God is merciful to all the believers who repent their sins, who ask for forgiveness of their sins. But for the unbelievers they will be punished for their sins since they reject the sin debt payment our Lord Savior Jesus Christ made for them.

Yes God is loving but John 4:8 is not the verse in Scripture that depicts that, obviously you made a mistake here.
But again God is loving, it was clearly displayed when He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

We read in Scripture:

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said, “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. 19 And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”
---John 3:16-21 NLT

True, God is peaceful

True, since God is love, He loves everyone.

True, He is kind to everyone here on earth while we live out our lives here. He gives everyone the opportunity to seek Him, to come to Him, to trust in Him, to believe in Him.

This applies to the believers who depend on Him, who search for Him, who believe in Him.

We read in Scripture:

"And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire."---Revelation 20:15 NLT

Again you have made a mistake, the verse in 1 Corinthians 13:5 does not say anything about what you've mentioned.
However though it is true that God does not keep a record of the wrong anyone did forever but this only applies to the believers because their sins will be washed away forever since they accepted the sin debt payment our Lord Savior Jesus Christ made on their behalf.

All this is true about God, but one thing must be made clear here, it is the believers who God will not abandon forever, it is the believers who God will not accuse forever, it is the believers who God will be merciful to.

Hell is mentioned 21 times in the New Testament and so it does exist. It's a place where all the unbelievers go to be separated from God for all eternity.

The doctrine of hell is suggested in the Old Testament, but it is much more clearly revealed in the New Testament. Jesus said more about hell than anyone.

The Jews also didn't believe in our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, so should we Christians not believe in our Lord Savior Jesus Christ also? ...I hardly think so!

Well technically they are not worshipping the same God anymore since they don't recognized nor do they believe in our Lord Savior Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Messiah who came into the world to save us from our sins.

Like I already mentioned the doctrine of hell is suggested in the Old Testament, but it is much more clearly revealed in the New Testament.

It was God who told us about hell in the Scriptures and so yes I honestly believe hell exists.

They are not lies, it is just that you don't thoroughly understand God at all. As I have said earlier God is also a God of wrath and He hates sin so much that He will punish the unbelievers for the sins they have committed.

The only ones who will not be punished are the believers, it is plainly written in Scripture.

Here is what we learn about hell in Scripture:

1. It's a place of confinement
2. It's a place of utter darkness
3. It's a place of suffering
4. It's a place of loneliness

Here is what we learn about Heaven in Scripture:

1. We will have uninterrupted fellowship with God
2. We will rest from the battle (the spiritual battles we encountered during our lives on earth, fighting temptation, the devil etc.)
3. We will be serving the Lord
4. It will be a place of full knowledge (we will know everything...all the why this and why that etc. all the questions that we didn't have answers for while we were living on earth)
5. It will be a place of continuous glory
6. It will be a place of constant worship
7. It will be a place of heavenly bliss, a place of great joy & happiness forever!

So the choice is ours to make, the question becomes "where do you want to spend eternity at?"

I have read it and understood it but it appears you haven't understood it and so that's why I'm here to help you understand the message.

The message the Book of Ecclesiastes is conveying over to the reader is that life is meaningless if God is not in your life. So yes for the atheist and all other unbelievers life is indeed meaningless for them, however for the believers, the Christians, because God is the focal point of their lives their lives are meaningful.

"In the Book of Ecclesiastes the author of the book recorded his own experiences with disappointment as he tried to find peace apart from God. In the book, the author uses a series of examples---wealth, wisdom, popularity, pleasure---and shows how each of them ultimately ends in disappointment if it becomes the sole reason for one's existence. After pondering this dilemma for several chapters, the author finally comes to this conclusion: "Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone's duty" It appears that the author abandoned any hope in worldly pursuits and decided that glorifying God provides the only lasting meaning in life."----NLT

What are you talking about? What led you to falsely believe I speak for all Christians and God? When I say things that are supported biblically I'm only reiterating what God has already revealed to us in Scripture. I'm not saying anything that can't be supported biblically.

It appears you are the one guilty of speaking for all Christians and the funny thing about it is that you're not even a Christian. Furthermore you are just spouting off biased opinions.

Again you are spouting off your biased opinion and furthermore I don't view God as some contradictory flip flopping monster with the most petty of human characteristics...that is not my belief system and so I don't know where you get that from. I certainly haven't said anything as such to be accused of it.

I don't view God as some monster, it is actually you that view Him this way. I have never ever referred to Him as being a monster.

That's your view of Him, a misconception by you it's because you don't understand what's written in Scripture, in other words you are not understanding what God is telling us in Scripture...that's the whole truth and nothing but the whole truth!

Afterall, you believe there was world wide cannibalism in noah's time.

You know, children and babies are not culpable. So they had to be eaten. Your friend words that you agree with.

Nobody "understands" God. The Bible is a book that was written in ancient times by ignorant men.

Since you do not understand anything but your human made up dogma you are of little helping in understanding scripture.

Your jaded bias leaves you with little objectivity and even less critical thinking skills.

Too Funny. You do not even understand your own beliefs. You are the one who believes in contradictory God who commands "Children are not to be punished for the sins of their parents" one day and commands the Israelites to massacre children and babies in the next.

You run from scripture that does not fit in with your beliefs, time and time again. You can not even figure out that God created evil.

.

These are your words and you are speaking for all Christians.

But I had just helped you to understand the Book of Ecclesiastes. You misunderstood the message to mean that life is meaningless for everyone but I corrected you by telling you the author of the book's message was that life is only meaningless for those who don't have God in their lives...(i.e. the atheists and all other unbelievers of God)

So don't I get some credit here for clearing up your misunderstanding? I have said it many times on these threads of mine that the Bible is certainly not a book for the interpretation impaired. And that's why I'm here to clear things up for those who don't understand what they read in the Scripture. It was clearly obvious you misunderstood the message of the Book of Ecclesiastes.

I specifically say that I'm here to clear up things in my opening post on these threads. And I know I have done a good job in doing that to be modest about it. Below is what I said in my opening post on this thread Part 31:

"Part 31 is a continuation of Post your tough questions pertaining to God/Jesus/Holy Bible and I will do my best to clarify and make sense of it to those who are unaware...I still have questions and comments I haven't responded to in Part 8 thru 30.

Also I might answer questions that are on other members threads and so this will keep me real busy with the many questions that I will answer from my point of view/perspective keeping in line with Scripture.

I don't want my intentions to come across as converting you or whatever lol... but rather clear up things etc... so ask away."

The message of Ecclesiastes is not that life is meaningless of those that do not have God in their lives.

You read some made up story from someone who has an opinion that agrees with our dogma and you believed what that person said, issue finished cased closed.

You never went to read Ecclesiastes to see is what this fellow is saying is true because if you had you would realize that what this fellow is saying is not true.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+1+&version=NIV.

Where in Ecclesiastes does it say what you claim it does? It never states that life is not meaningless ... ever. It states that some things are better than others .. Wisdom is better than folly.

Eccl 3
Is this getting through to you Mitt ? We live our lives however we live but we all come to the same place.

Eccl 1
You live your life and do all the wonderful things you want but none of it matters because time will erase any and all memory of what you have done. It is meaningless.

There is no place in Ecclesiastes where he says "live will have meaning for those who believe in God" or "live is meaningless unless one believes in God"

We come from dust and we will return to dust.

Go read the Bible for once and quit accepting some fools opinion as if it is the word of God.

All Scripture comes from the inspiration of God.

We read in Scripture:

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work."---2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT

Who's lying? We are interpreting the Bible correctly. Again as I have stated I have a thorough explanation on pg. 1 #4 of Part 9.

Sorry but that's not what God told us in His best selling book of all-time...the Holy Bible. Obviously you are making your own stuff up. I mean where does the Bible say the Bible is a mythology? That is your opinion of the Bible, the Bible says no such thing that it is a mythology.

Furthermore it doesn't say if anyone questions the Bible they are of the devil and they need to be tortured for eternity in a lake of fire even if they're the nicest people on earth. Show us where in Scripture does it say that?...never mind cause I know you're just making stuff up.

But I have also said that He is a God that will punish all the sinners who are unbelievers for the sins they committed since they don't believe in Him and reject the sin debt payment our Lord Savior Jesus Christ made for them. But He will pardon all the sinners who are believers who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord Savior and they will spend eternity with Him in paradise in His Kingdom of Heaven! That is what He is going to do, He told us that in Scripture.

We read in Scripture:

"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him."There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants."---John 3:16-21 NLT

So are you going to your death bed one day still with a plate full of sins? The choice is yours to make...do you want to spend eternity in heaven or do you want to spend eternity in hell?...All I can say is to choose wisely!

So if you ever find yourself in that confined place of utter darkness, of suffering, of loneliness it was your choice to be there.
