Yet parents do more harm than good to their children and to their own peace of mind when they think that way. God is a forgiving God and being that He created homosexuals and fully understands them and their needs and the fact that Jesus said not one word against homosexuality and God did not forbid it in His Ten Commandments, parents need to come to their senses and quit the mass hysteria over this matter and simply learn to love their homosexual children as God intended for them to do. People's responses are usually dependent on how questions are asked. That's why people can give opposite answers to questions involving the same basic issue. For instance, if certain religious people are asked if they believe same sex marriage should be prohibited they will probably answer yes. However, if you work them through a series of questions about equal rights, equal protection under the law, and so forth you could probably get the most ardent critic to eventually concede that his position is flat out wrong even if he continues to support it.

Once you look at a man and then a woman, the choice is easy.

 

It wasn't for me. It still isn't. I have seen both naked, I have even had relationships with both.

Being a man, there is nothing another man has I want. That's why God made women so beautiful. I could understand how a woman could see desire in another woman and it's understandable they would be attracted to a man.

 

Being a man myself, there is something a man has that I want.

God made men pretty beautiful too. If he didn't women wouldn't want them, nor would other men.

Some might be good looking, but there is nothing they have I want.

 

All That means is that you are heterosexual. That choice wouldn'thave been so easy ifyou were bisexual. it would have been easy if you were homosexual.

So we aren't really talking about the choice of male or female. We are talking about the proclivity to choose one over the other.

If my son were gay, I'd accept him, love him, but not his lifestyle any more than I would accept him trying to domesticate a stripper. I love my son unconditionally, but I don't have to accept his lifestyle choices

What lifestyle? All we know about your hypothetical son is that he has a sexual and emotional attraction to members of the same sex. His lifestyle could be anything from Buddhist hermit to wild child hedonist, all entirely independent of his sexuality.

Characteristics need not be genetic to prevent an individual from choosing them. The fact remains that nobody has demonstrated the ability to freely switch sexual orientation. You can change what you do but you can't change what you are.

 

they most certainly have shown they can switch.... you just try and dismiss it as "bisexual" or "they weren't really gay in the first place"
