Just an assumption. How did Scottie do it?

It is a long swim from South America to Iraq.

Hate to burst your bubble but scientists make spelling mistakes all the time.

That is why they have secretaries ! Are you looking for a Job ?

Retired GO.. Don't need a job. But it is nice to know that scientists are also incapable of writing their theses without making errors. If they make such errors in observation, then that don't add too much credibility to the things that they say.

You're getting a bit out there now. :) You know I exist because this site has all my info - and a bot can't communicate at this level.

Philosophy and what-ifs, personal encounters, personal beliefs, etc, are not going to make proof for that ghost. I could wax-poetic about fairies and their wonderful history - but that isn't proof.

Someone seeing ghosts or flying unicorns is NEVER proof that such actually exist.

Einstein could not even dress himself in the morning. He was dislexic and some claim he was even autistic. That does not mean he was not intelligent. it merely means that his brain worked so fast and in such a way that he could not focus on everyday things such as writing and dresssing

That was Einstein... we are not talking about Einstein in the discussion you have entered into.

I can look at your profile and see that information has been added there to show such an entity as being a member. That however is not proof that you exist. It is only proof that the information is describing an entity, and that entity is not further described to differentiate that entity from another entity. Therefore, you can still be an intelligent apparition. Advanced AI equipment can communicate at this level.

    Neither is your profile.

Their testimony is the evidence of their existence. Not any different than the testimony of scientists who allege to have observed an 'electron' or 'photon' or even a magnetic wave.

Speaking of "errors" in observation as you talk about in the post below.

In the post above you completely miss the point. Typo's have little corrolation with intelligence.

Sure it does. "intelligence" in the broadest sense of the term would include their observational skills as well as their ability to detect errors in their own performance. They are no better in making observations than anyone else. Therefore, the observations (which include the experiences) of others are equally significant.

Defending a weak position with broad generalizations in spite of being given proof that some of the most intelligent people make typo's, even when they are doing important things.

The idea that a typo or two when banging out a rushed blog post has any significant relation to intelligence is foolish.

The rush being the product of an emotional state (feeling a need to supply an answer without providing all of the necessary and adequate safeguards) is not a very scientific method to adhere to. Such an emotional reaction will have the capability of creating torts.

My point in noticing people about their errors, is simple: haste makes waste.

Do think that all folks feel the need to review their posts on a political blog site like they were something of such great importance in their lives that they would feel compelled to provid all of the necessary and adequate safeguards ?

Do you think that all hasty responses are due to an emotional reaction. Are there not other possibilities such as being in a hurry, fatigue, or the plethera of other possibilities ?

Read my signature line. By not providing those adequate and necessary safeguards, your mind is allowed to manifest into the real world, things that can create a tort or torts. Logic would dictate that using such safeguards would be the better course of action.

Analyze the two other alternative reasons that you submit, and you will find that at their root is some emotion that is driving the particular reason.

LOL try reading the post again and answering the question. The question is not "what your opinion is about necessary safegards in relation to blog posts.

The question is about what folks actually do not about whether or not they share your particular perspective.

Pehaps if you took your own advice and took the necessary safegards to read and understand a post properly you would be able to give an answer that actually addresses the question asked in said post. Logic would dictate that using such safeguards would be the better course of action.

    Now try again:

That isn't just Pentecostal but Catholic and protestant of most divisions. (That I am aware )

Here, let me offer this as something to consider.

Luke 9:59,60 To another he said, “Follow me.” But he said, “Lord, let me first go and bury my father.” And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”

This makes a distinction of those that are Spiritually dead and Spiritually alive, and that are to proclaim the Kingdom of God.. This leans on the side that they were born again of the Spirit.

John the baptist said : (Matthew 3:11)

“As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Could you name some pitfalls of faith keeping in mind that doesn't mean you can or will be unrighteous. ( also according to Paul)

You say "faith is not enough to get an entrance to heaven" but The idea is that if you have faith, it will lead you too - righteousness and salvation.

Not really. If Jesus didn't have faith in the Father,or the father having Grace on you by sending Jesus, you would still be butchering a calf or a bull trying to find the kingdom.. lol

I do think there are references to spiritual things and the Holy Spirit.

Just as John was not able to baptize folks with the Holy Spirit, neither are the Pentacostal ministers and Catholic Priests.

Only Christ was able to do that. The idea of being "reborn" in spirit is not that unusual. I think having a spiritual rebirth is a good thing. That this is necessary to enter heaven is another question completely.

That the "Holy Spirit"/God takes part in the ritual is highly suspect.
That folks can invoke the "Holy Spirit" on a regular basis and get messages from this spirit is absurd.

Humans do not speak for God. Those that claim they talk to the Holy Spirit and then say "I know the scripture means this or that, or God says this or that" on the basis of "the presence of the Holy Spirit" are, in essence, claiming to speak for God.

Few things in the history of the world have wrought more evil than this claim.

"Faith in Salvation" was the term. Rather than worry about what happens in the afterlife it would be nice if folks would try to make the here and now a better place.

Faith can blind. Faith can rally the masses to do evil. The doctrine of blind faith teaches people not to question some of the most fundimental aspects of life.

    Faith cases war.

What I mean by this is that it is possible to get into heaven without faith.

If faith can lead someone to do good things .. Great.

Why does one need faith to lead them to do good things ? If you found out tomorrow that Jesus was a hoax would you start doing evil ?

I would hope not. I would hope that you would do good for the sake of good, not because of some pot of gold at the end of the rainbow story.

I have faith. I have faith in the idea that God has a brain and does not make up stupid rules. I have faith that God can tell the difference between good and evil.

God may have sent his Son with a message to show folks the way. The message of Christ was not .. believe in my resurrection and you will have everlasting life. This is absurd .. do you think that God would make such an absurd rule.

Christ came to Glorify God .. not himself. Christ was not God . .he never claimed this and nor did any of his followers. Even Paul (who I do not think much of) claims a distinction between Jesus and God.

Start with the idea that Jesus is not God and God is not stupid and go from there.

Study both the canonical and non canonical scripture.

Realize that there are many changes in the Bible .. man made to fit in with the dogma of the day.

Learn the History of the Bible and how it came to what we have today.

Read everything you can about other religions and every book you can find covering alternate theories. Really try hard to get both sides of the story.

Lose everything that was taught to you in your youth and realize how blind those teachings have made you to other concepts of God and the world.

If after that you still think the holy spirit runs around having conversations with people and that faith is the only way to get to heaven.

Then we can have a really interesting conversation.

To be honest I do not think Jesus had much to do with it. His true teaching was perverted long ago and further warped by a fellow named Constantine and then his name was used to cause mass suffering to humanity for over 1500 years.

Oddly enough Jesus seemed to have predicted this !?

    So does the Devil (Satan).

Basic teaching. Why are you suggesting that Pentacostal ministers and Catholic Priests "baptize with the Holy Spirit", when in fact they don't. They baptize in the name of the Holy Spirit.

Satan would probably suggest something akin to what you have stated above with regard to what is necessary to enter heaven.

Only through your interpretation of what has been clearly explained to you, and you have chosen to given an opposite interpretation as that which was given to you. Another tactic of Satan.

The only evil in the world is the evil that occurs when there is an absence of the Holy Spirit working within people. Your denial that the Holy Spirit can and does work in and through various people, clearly shows that you deny the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, rendering you to be a child of Satan.

"Faith in salvation" is not an expression that is used in the Bible (KJV). It would be even nicer if folks were to attempt to use the scripture without adding to it their private interpretations. Private interpretations being interpretations that are devised according to the dynamics of the secular world.

Faith in God can never be blind, can never rally the masses to do evil. What precisely are the "fundimental aspects of life". Please name or list all of those "fundimental aspects of life" which you allege 'blind faith teaches people not to question.."

Faith in what, causes war? Be specific and while being specific, show your objective empirical evidence to support such a claim

Show the way. I dare you.

    More of your uncertainty?

Flip flopping on your position with regard to faith? Jesus is not a hoax and therefore your question is nothing more than a flame bait. Your question is also one of those that Satan would devise to entrap people by planting seeds of doubt.

"pot of gold story at the end of the rainbow.." So that is what you think Christianity is all about?

    So does the devil (Satan).

More seeds of doubt being spewed from the mouth of a worker of iniquity.

Again, even Satan knows those fundamental truths. Your back flipping tactics which you have displayed throughout your post clearly show that you are not about teaching the message of Christ. And BTW: Christ is the Messiah... the Son of God... Jesus was the body in which the Son of God dwelt. Your acts of deception are being well noted by all of the readers on this forum.

That is good advice... you should adhere to it.

Study the Word of God.... period..

The dogma of the day is the 1611 KJV. Any of the other translations would be the perversions of the day.

Then go back to that original KJV or learn the original Greek and Hebrew languages and lean on the writings from those original transcripts.

Both sides of the story? You mean that you are admitting that you are relating another 'side of the story'? What side of the story are you wanting to promote?

Now you are instructing people to abandon their faith ... to abandon the teachings that have been handed down through centuries of time. You are asking people to accept the perverted and twisted messages of the people of this day? Get real dude.

There you have it folks... A complete denial of the presence of the Holy Spirit and denial of the power of the Holy Spirit.

Still waiting for you to make good on your claim to have daily conversations with the Holy Spirit by finding out how the Spectacled Bear made it back to South America from the Ark.

Then provide some objective emperical evidence that the spirit you consult is not the evil one !

I've always thought that Luke 9:59-62 doesn't sound like something Iesous would say.

Though with 59-60 at least one can come up with a teaching from it. Let the world attend to worldly duties. You attend to the things of the Kingdom.

But the other - don't even take time to tell your family you are leaving - is rather strange - especially for that society. An abandoned wife, or children, aged parents that you are supposed to take care of, etc, might all starve.

And I gave you the answer months ago. Go look it up.

You have a monopoly on the spirit of the evil one... no-one else has a chance to intrude on that holding of yours.

A complete paragraph full of dubiousness when in the previous paragraph, you expressed what appears to be a note of appreciation for the teachings found in verses 59 - 60.

You see, if a Christian is willing to leave his/her family and take care of the things of the Kingdom, then that/those same Christians will have the necessary confidence/faith in Jesus that will enable the powers in the Kingdom to provide for those in the temporal. I personally KNOW this to be factual, because I have personally experienced the same form of blessings from the Kingdom when I do as instructed by the Holy Spirit.

Have those blessings made me a millionaire? No! Absolutely not (though some have) . On the other hand, all of my needs are met, and I always seem to have enough left over after my own needs to help others. The joy I receive after helping others is more than the millionaire status could provide. On the other side of that coin, is the FACT that I hold documentation that is valued at over xx million dollars, but I have never taken or used even one penny of that money... I don't need to... I am retired from that commercial game and have decided to trust in the Lord and do as He instructs me through the Holy Spirit.

You will need to come up with something a little better than "Scottie" - beam me up to be convincing.

Is that what your spirit told you ? That I have a monopoly on evil spirits ?

This sounds like something the which burning Christian folks would say.

I do not consult spirits. This is against Bible teaching IMO.

All I am suggesting is that you test the validity of your spirit by asking it a few questions.

First, what dubiousness? Secondly, I said neither appear to be something Iesous would say, followed by at least...

And the reality - The family would notify the police that their husband, etc, was missing. The police would be searching for a foul-play corpse. And if they found that you ran off abandoning your family, bills, taxes, etc, you would probably be doing jail time.

And of course everyone would be wondering how someone that seemed so intelligent got caught up with a CULT that not only cut off family contact, but forced you to not even inform them of your leaving - or be found unworthy of their religion. :omg:

I think what I wrote above explains why I don't think Iesous would say something like this.
