That does appear to be the perception with some of us. But perception sometimes is corrupted by the conditioning of propaganda. It is an old problem.

Whatever he could disclose to the GB intelligent service agency, he already did it. The actual information is updated very fast, so what was important even one year ago most likely is not important any more. If Russians wanted to punish him, he could be punished when he was in jail in Russia.. Hear attack, or suicide, or something else. And it would be much less noise about him at that time than it is now.

I guess that's why he was living in Salisbury..?
It's a sad product of the Tom Clancy era I'm afraid. It would have been far to easy to have had some burly prison guard kick the crap out of him and claim self-harm - then again they wouldn't have had the opportunity for an agent swap! Much easlier for the Ivans get back some of their fellas...and gal and then concoct some hairbrained scheme involving exotic nerve agents, assassin(s) unknown, Zizzy restaurants and sleepy Salisbury.
Spy games = inverse of ockams razor ....all good fun though
Harvey Weinstien could try and kick start his holywood career and negotiate with Putin for the film rights....must be a few quid in it for both of them

Careful ol' sausage. I don't think the Russian state was responsible at all. I have found nothing to support the British government's perceptions on this. It increasingly clear we are dealing with a false flag attack.

Likewise on Litvinenko. The evidence suggests that he self-exposed himself to Polonium-210, as he was involved in smuggling nuclear materials. This factors in his relationship to the Italian, Mario Scaramelli, who was operating with the Italian organised crime syndicate, the Camorra and others in this international black market racket.

I think you and I are on exactly the same page on both these affairs. I also hold that other deaths, for example Boris Berezovsky factor into this too.

I read an account somewhere that said that the man was not sent to prison after his confession. That Medvedev actually pardoned him some years later.

If that account is accurate, then there is no apparent motive at all for the Russians to poison him.

I hope that Striped Horse will read that, because he'll know for sure. If it's true then it really would expose all this anti-Russia demonizing for what it is - a load of western drivel.

So what? Out of this only the USA = CIA or whatever US Secret Service could have done, because so that Russia can be blamed for it ... or what does this Point mean for you?

Even I am sceptic about Russia was it by myself and as explained in answers before in this thread ... Sorry:
The fact that one of the developers or even the developer of the poison now lives in the US is just as little any proof that the US is evil, like the fact that the poison is a development of the USSR = proof that it was Russia!

I agree Mandelus. But the point made by DonRumataEstorsky is pointing out the fallacy of what Theresa May said in Parliament that the attack either had to be by Russia or that Russia lost control of its chemical weapon stockpile - there were no other possibilities, it was one or the other; both blaming Russia.

It appears that there are, in fact, a number of other possibilities; post the Soviet Union the USA had access to the CB unit in Uzbekistan where Novichok was made. Britain's Porton Down also apparently had access to the formulae via a Russian who sought exile in London in the 1990's. I also understand that Ukraine may have had access to it too.

Theresa May was, therefore, wrong to make that statement and was being wilfully insincere in saying that.

Here I have to raise my hat to Jeremy Corbyn who raised some pointed questions to Theresa McCain during the Parliamentary debate, following her announcement of what proved to relatively unimportant sanctions --- it's all proved to be smoke and mirrors rhetoric and very little substance. Thank god we at least we still have an opposition here in the UK that does its job and holds the government to account.

Sure ... what aunt Theresa made there was a Clown Show only and who trusts the BS ballbering without using the organ called brain ... well ... ;-)

But I will prevent any redirection Trial by People for whom the USA is even guilty for the current weather and that the traffic lights are too often red. ;-)

A very accurate observation. This anti-Russian pig lie to Parliament. But since the English Parliament is full of anti-Russian pigs, they'll eat Theresa's sh_t and ask for more.

You seem failed pretty bad to notice she's the politician that has access to crucial intelligence finds. She's not a random one.

You don't deserve the rattle snake at all...
Fly the Russian flag so at least you can be honest with who you really are ...

    Seriously?
Show me any politician on this planet who always tells the truth please!
You accuse Putin and the statements of the Russians are all just lies ... the other side claims the opposite and says May babbling against better knowledge nonsense!

Depends entirely on your personal point of view!

I know her better than you do.

She and you have yet to show that there are any "crucial intelligence files" showing that Russia was responsible for this attack. In fact, the head of the British police investigation confirms they have no known culprits for the attack. He's doing the investigation, she isn't. He knows, she doesn't.

You're far too believing in politicians and the media, Goody. I've said this to you several times before. You need to learn to exercise a greater degree of objectivity. Everyone in the world by now knows that politicians and the media can't be trusted to speak the truth. They always have an agenda. And Theresa McCain is no different.

Not least, the OPCW, the international ruling body of chemical weapons enforcement have stated categorically that Russia has no Novichok; that it has all been destroyed. The have certified this. The Director-General of that body announced the following:

    https://medium.com/insurge-intellig...-nerve-agent-claims-are-bullshit-a69b4ee484ce

UK Ambassador to the OPCW, Peter Wilson, stated to that body just last year, in applauding the chair said he had: "marked the completion of the verified destruction of Russia's declared chemical weapons programme..." HERE

Work on the destruction of Russia's chemical weapons stockpile was completed in 2015. They have confirmed that they fund no existence of an active Novichok programme. Moreover, a senior source at Porton Down has raised doubt about Novichok in this regard (HERE). The same paper notes that any scientist with a modern lab could synthesize "bench scale" quantities of Novichok. Porton Down itself has done so.

So it completely misleading for the Prime Minister to make these accusations and, at the same time, decline to provide eith the Russians or the OPCW with samples for independent testing.

Every day that passes the British Government assertions are found more and more wanting.

When I saw the headlines in the daily rags on the BBC online news site this morning, with every one of them showing Putin with a photo-shopped crafty look on his face, and May looking ever so, ever so determined, and then recall the naked tribalism bordering on nationalism on the footie pitches, it occurred to me just how easy it would be to stir up the mindless masses, together with otherwise intelligent individuals, into a visceral hatred of a perceived – not a real but perceived enemy.
