Science and Math and Computer Science Most Important to Learn

Again....I am not arguing that point either.

I am just saying that PEOPLE SHOULD NOT JUST EXPECT A SPECIALIZED JOB TO LAST THEIR WHOLE LIFETIME!!!

There is something I say all the time and it is........

"EITHER ADJUST TO RAPID CHANGES OR LOSE OUT!"

Sure. I like what you're saying, but wouldn't it seem that despite your diverse skills, don't they fall under the tree of survival? Haven't you specialized in one set of skills instead of diversifying?Sure you can grow a tomato, but can you operate the machinery needed to splice open its DNA and remake it so it's more frost resistant? How about explaining the moral ethics behind it? The chemical reactions taking place? The history of the tomato?

 

I get what you're saying, but that's a self fulfilling prophecy. If you sabotage the system, the system will fall. If instead of becoming the most efficient worker possible, they decide to diversify on their own, then the system will creak to a stop. Think of the farmer example I gave. What if one of the farmers decided that instead of devoting all their time to farming, they instead decide to learn more about minerals. Sure they might gain some diversification but overall the system is weaker because instead of doing what they do best, they have to compensate for the food lost.

 

Well....I am not a Geneticists but I do have a degree in Particle Physics so I think I could very easily after doing a bit of reading and being given Lab Time.....be able to create specific Geneticly Engineered Plants bearing vegetables and fruits.

Tomatos are NATIVE TO THE AMERICA'S.....and I always laugh when hear friends of my friends who are Italian tell me about their SECRET 500 YEAR OLD PASTA SAUSE RECEPE!!!! LOL!!!

Tomatos being from the NIGHTSHADE FAMILY.....when the first Europeans came to the America's they would only feed their Horses and Pigs Tomatos and Potatos as both being from the Nightshade Family the Europeans thought they were poisonous!!!!

As Potatos originated from Peru.....and had been brought up into North America THOUSANDS OF YEARS BEFORE THE SPANISH GOT TO PERU......the American Indian's living in what is the U.S. were growing and Planting and eating Tomatos, Potates....OVER 1100 DIFFERENT TYPES!!!

The Europeans thought these poisonous thus fed their horses and Pigs with them.

The European's even fed their PRISONERS large LOBSTERS as tey thought this to be PUNISHMENT FOOD!!!

As I understand it the Italian genius was to combine Chinese food (noodles and pasta brought back by Marco Polo) with the New World tomato and their native foods left over from the Romans, like cheeses, anchovies, etc. Not sure of that, but they are delicious

To return to education I have to generally agree we must teach more STEM subjects. I wonder if 60% might be a little high but the old argument that you have to be "talented" in math to be taught the higher forms is very wrong IMO. We don't say that children have to be "talented" to be taught literature or history, do we?

One problem is what is called Math Anxiety, and it amounts to almost a phobia some people have about math. It's caused mainly by being taught badly. I found this out when reading a book by Isaac Asimov, of all people, who claims he has it to some extent despite the fact that he has advanced degrees in Chemistry because he was taught advanced college calculus in a manner that caused it. Who would have thought

Robert A Heinlein said that anyone who couldn't understand math was about at he level of someone who could only be taught not to make messes in the house. I wouldn't go that far but I do think it needs more emphasis in education.

 

In order for a person to be able to be taught and LEARN HIGHER MATHEMATICS they FIRST HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THE LOWER FORMS OF EASY MATHEMATICS!!!

I am appalled when I notice the lack of spelling, punctuation and grammar skills demonstrated "in kids today".

 

You could be a Farmer that after reading some books on CHEMISTRY.....NEW GEOMETRIC PLANTING PLOTS WHERE FLOWERS SUCH AS ASTERS AND ZINIA'S ARE PLANTED WITHIN THE CROP PLANTING DESIGNS DESIGNED TO HELP POLINATION THUS INCREASE CROP YEILD.

Get a better understsanding how depending upon your soil or if you till in one way or another whether using either Powdered Lime or Particle Lime or Slow Release Lime to compensate for Acidic Soil.

Take courses at a local Community College to better understand HYDRODYNAMICS which can help increase your crop yeild and lower your water bill and water usuage by better understanding of Fluid and Hydrodynamics.

Take courses in CLIMATOLOGY to understand Climate Change and Cyclical Climate Change to prepare for El Nino...etc and other Climate Issues.

The list is endless.

I am guilty of that myself as my Primary Left Brain Hemisphere Conscious Activity has issues with ILLOGICAL SYSTEMS such as I before e except after c....SOMETIMES.

Besides....they don't even teach CURSIVE WRITTING IN SCHOOLS ANYMORE!

Of course knowledge of basic science is socially acceptable. Most people admire those of us who know science.

 

Of course it is acceptable to most of us; just not to the religious right.

 

And in the time it took to take those courses, how much could have been done by relying upon someone else who already took those classes? That person simply dictated what need to be done and the farmer followed them. The system was more efficient that way instead of that one person trying to master all the skills needed.

They cracked about 2 minutes 45 seconds in....and they would have SAID ANYTHING to make it stop.

But what they did....as they didn't just walk behind each woman and put a round into the back of their head or brainstem......OH NO!!!!

They pushed HUNDREDS OF WOMEN TOGETHER and just started SPRAYING THE OUTSIDE OF THIS MASSIVE GROUPING OF FEMALE HUMAN BEINGS......with the AK-47's HEAVY 7.62×39mm round.

This round is much heavier than an M-16 or variet of Round as the U.S. went with lighter rounds that a soldier can carry more of and such a round can travel much further distances and caused extreme amount of PHYSICAL TRAUMA .....due to the M-16 or M4 5.56×45mm round extreme velocity and spin when it impacts Human Flesh this spin translates into TUMBLING OF THE ROUND.....which means if you ever get shot by a Assault Rifle...HOPE IT'S AN AK-47....as if that round misses BONE...it will go through and through....UNLIKE THE M-16, M4 or varient of NATO ROUND....5.56×45mm which has been known TO KILL A PERSON JUST FROM A FLESH WOUND TO THE ARM BETWEEN THE WRIST AND ELBOW!!!

Anyways....they grouped these women together and since the AK-47 is difficult to control on full automatic...they held their AK's down against their waists and as they were strapped over their shoulders....they would JUST SPRAY THE OUTSIDES OF THE FEMALE GORUP!!

Bones would be breaking and women screaming as these Man/Children LAUGHED....and they kept this up until no one stood.

But that didn't mean they were all dead!!!

It took some time before they all died....and these MAN/CHILDREN would laugh as they would occasionally SPRAY WITH THEIR AK-47'S a side...to listen to more screaming.

Anything we did to this group of Man/Children...was not enough.

As much as you probably loved slaughtering those humans, I'm here to tell you that you accomplished absolutely nothing.

You probably did let people know that Americans can slaughter humans with the best of them. But, I doubt that is even vaguely interesting to most of them.

In fact, I was reading a piece on ISIL in the Atlantic recently. At one point the author indicated reasons to believe that ISIL would actually prefer us to come and fight them. The issues of death and of overwhelming force (which I doubt we can muster in any real sense) are often not seen as deterrents.

So, I understand your sentiment - I might have done the same thing.

But, let's be real about what we're accomplishing.

Now I had some people say to me that it was a RACIAL CULTURAL THING...but I don't believe that one bit!!

This one I do not believe. We failed against AQ in Iraq, too, and that happened when we were there in full force.

The Pentagon says we would need the help of Sunnis, and most of our time in Iraq has been spent disenfranchising and killing Sunnis.

If we had something to offer Sunnis (such as an end to disenfranchisement, protection from the Iraqi government, an end to the slaughter from Shiite militias and Iranians, maybe just autonomy like the Kurds) maybe there would be something to talk about. But, it's getting harder, as ISIS is establishing their government with Sunnis being included.
