Poor muslims. They are all so nice, open-minded, tolerant, yet they are constantly attacked by JOOZ, Westerners, Copts. You can't help but shed a tear for the injustices committed against Egyptian muslims by ungrateful Egyptian minorities.

In other words the population of the Arab Republic of Egypt is not ready for democracy.

yes they need to stay out of other countries affairs

    it is very dangerous indeed

there are many pieces to this puzzle and let's not forget one importnat thing here

when the Copts first marched in Shubra to Maspero this week they were joined by many Muslims

many Muslims were calling for unity alongside them

the problems started when they reached Maspero and blocked access and roads and traffic

then the citizens drivers both Copt and Muslim became targets and that is not acceptable at all but you wont read that part in the Western media.

you are not going to tolerate being threatened in your car by Copts and this is what happens

they usually block one of the busiest roads the Salah Salem and drive the drivers crazy and loose any support

    where is the Coptic pope?
is he in USA where he normally is in these instances?
funny he has been silent isn't it?
is he flying back to Egypt today?

It will not look good if he makes statement from the USA will it so I guess we wont hear from him till he arrives back in Cairo!

If he was here surely he would have said something to the media and been interviewed.

All those people dead!!!! and not a word!!!!
statements only from the Muslims calling for unity and halt to this chaos!

We see the same in Iraq, once Arab Muslims can vote for a ( Islamic Apartheid) party and harass infidels unchallenged they will do so

Perhaps Europe should take note of the treatment of Christians and stop aid to this corrupt genocidal Islamic apartheid regime asap.

More flowering of the Arab Spring, Copts should pack their bags and leave this Islamic Apartheid state as soon as possible. Despite their history, which goes back before Egypt was overrun during the Islamic Conquest, there is no future in Egypt.

you should comment when you know facts

Muslims were with the Copts in Shubra alongside protesting. Muslims were with the Copts outside Maspero so your theory fails.

it's people like you who say these kinds of things that make more trouble and inflame people

The death toll is now up to 36 people.

This is NOT good.. the people really had high hopes and a sense of solidarity back in February.

Nope... and Sudan really isn't working out either.. There are still numerous rebels groups killing each other in South Sudan.

The situation in Egypt is worrying indeed. An Al Jazeera commentator even said that there are suspicions that the military are behind sectarian violence, because the longer Egypt remains unstable the easier it would be for them to keep power.
Whoever is responsible for the latest violence, let's hope that the Egyptians stay calm, don't succumb to old prejudices against each other and heed the revolution's bloggers calls for unity when pressing on for democracy.

I was wondering about that.. The Egyptian army keeps pushing back the election date.. Maybe they don't want to give up power.

It has been a long hot summer here. There have been increases in the cost of everything since the revolution- food, petrol, medicines.

We have a shortage in medications.

The Egyptian people have been living with uncertainty that they have never experienced at any time.

This is a very dangerous situation.

And what is better to blame infidels, who are already 2nd rate by Egyptian law anyway.

Where did you see them giving up power ?
In addition, they have been in power in Egypt since the 50s, so why give up no ?
From their point of view, the whole dea of the Egyptian revolution was to stop Mubarak from passing power to his son (like a monaq) and keep the power in the Army.

We have the dates for the elections since 26th September.

My bet is the army can't wait to hand over power but tell me Margot this.

Who do they hand it over to exactly?

    We have no police?
Who will man the checkpoints if they go?
Who do I call if my car gets stolen?
Who would our security have called when 2 weeks ago they caught the cable thieves digging the internet and phone cable? Security called the army and they came and took them. Police number did not get answered.

We call the army now so please advise us who we call if they are not on the other end of the line?

Great you all saying they want to hold power but you dont know anything at all about the life.

I'm quite happy with the military police checkpoint and army tank, sometimes carrier just across the road from me out in the Oasis Road.

I'm in no rush at all and neither are my neighbours to see them go.

The ones calling for them to go haven't thought about who they put in their place.

What number do you have on your mobile phone for emergencies? army or police?
if you catch a thug who do you call?

The United States is funding the Egyptian military regime. It's time to cut off all aid.

Thank god someone else sees the simple truth as it is.

The military also had/have a deeprooted hatred of those businessmen/ministers ( before judging please see what they had actually accomplished while in office- quite a bit for the economy of the country) as a significant portion of public land - held and controlled by the military- was sold and developed. Same with the selling of public entities to the private sector.

One thing that's hopefull in all this are the statements by Egypts' "Prime Minister"

    http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/10/world/meast/egypt-protest-clashes/index.html?hpt=hp_t2

Now, obviously that may not come to fruition. And laws aren't enough if you don't actually stop people from burning down churches and killing Christians.

And I'm finding a lot of Muslims don't consider it religious discrimination to kill someone for questioning Mohammad or not following some aspect of sharia law, because a Muslim would also get killed for doing those things, so it's all equal you see.

But at least they can say things like that and not get blown up by a suicide bomber or shot by your own security guard the way you would in all too much of the middle east with a statement like that.

    I'm still hopeful for Egypt.

You will never be able to convince these people that the muslim brotherhood will take control of Egpyt and make Sharia Law the law of the land. Its pathetic. Islam is a horrible plague on the world.

Last week Egyptian Army drove over Christian Protestors, who were enraged at being Untermenschen in the Islamic Apartheid state of Egypt.
