Im not big on BBQ. Never really was or fried chicken or stuff like that. I grew up eating what my mom calls Depression food. Beans, greens, macaroni and little meat. Now its yogurt and salad because I like yogurt and salad. lol Although that piece of Panettone was pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) good this morning and that first cold beer with a chocolate vodka shooter isnt gonna be bad either. lol

I'm with you on everything, except the chocolate vodka.

my God, I just can't wrap my mind around that.

but then again, I like liqueur made from almonds or lemons, so what do I know. :p

Awe thanks for the big hug...yer alright Smartie, always liked you a lot.

Sorry to hear about your mom as well.
But am real glad you shared the life story of it all.

People say we all die , but when you think about it, we don't really , just go on to something else.
Still grappling with that but it seems there are People up there that really want me to know.
IF YOU ONLY KNEW THE EFFORT THE HOLY SPIRIT AND PEOPLE HAVE PUT INTO GETTING IT INTO MY THICK SKULL!!!!!

Your walking out of the hospital sounds so real.
The feeling her presence . I get that, for we all know what it is like to just know someone is behind us without seeing or hearing them...

it's unmistakable. Or your with someone and some how you just know they are not there and they went somewhere.

Ahhh Smartie there is nothing like a mother's love, i miss her so much.
i have no guilt for i did my very best to be with her .
Sandy my wife did at times feel like we could have has more time to ourselves...lol...but she was always supportive, but i do tend to go overboard...and well living with me isn't the joy you would seem to think it is...

    hahahaahahahaha....yeah right...

    hey i'm joking again...

    another round for the house!!!!!

    cheers all
    Dave

I'm doing great. How about you? As far as the snow goes, it snows then it melts. So far I have not had to shovel but one time and that was only for 2 inches. Right now we are under blizzard warnings. And the overnight temps are supposed to be 8 tonight and 6 for tomorrow night and then 12. That's not to bad. But soon it will be going to sub zero temps. Time to get out the long john's then. You just take care and stay warm and healthy.

Sorry to hear that, OT. During my exch with Doc, I thought about my g/f whose mom was 56 when she died. Makes sense not to grieve for loved ones who have such a long life like our moms... but of course, sense isn't what we feel when they die. I'm sure you were much loved, growing up. No kid could be unloved and end up as sweet as you! ;)

Unless I done forgot how to barkeeps.
However it could be construed as a Brown Russian.
Add Ginger ale and it's a Brown Russian Shirley Temple.

Gee I dunno.Does that mean that Ernest Hemingway and Winston Churchill weren't sweet.
    Like how that's possible.Hemingway drank a lof of sweet drinks { Daiquiri }
    and Churchill Champagne and Port.
Maybe they chased them drinks with Salami sandwiches.
    Yeah ... that makes sense.

Yeah, you're right, Foolie... my statement was pretty dumb. Lots of people with unhappy childhoods grow up to be wonderful, loving adults.

I musta been drunk when I typed that. ;)

I have been to the gym. Torture. But not as bad as the last time I had to upgrade my body, must be fitter than I was then. I'm already running on the treadmill without much distress and I've only been back for a week. That fookin cross trainer though...kicks my circulation so much I feel like I'm flying...

I have to start on an eleptical if I ever go back to the gym, or else I'll fall off the treadmill.

Or maybe a sitting bicycle machine, but I wouldn't last a minute on the tread mill, been too long and too many pounds and cholesteral

I'm not doing the gym... but I'm back on weightwatchers to fight off those 'quit smoking' pounds that snuck up on me this year.

Trying to make myself climb stairs at work. Some of my better conditioned co-workers climb 10 flights to the office every morning. Even with a bank of perfectly good elevators in the lobby!

ugh, physical exercise is painful. Good for you for biting the bullet. :(

Dallas is doing pretty good this season, Tony Romo was jittery in the last game but this time around he did good.
