    11 innings last night, CC -- seems they were tied most of the night! It was crazy! Not sure I can stand another game like that one... sober!!! :omg:

    Well I hate to say it but, St.Louis is gonna win the title. Now just because I am originally from St.Louis that doesn't mean that I am cheering for them now.

    I sent away to Cabelas for a fly tying kit. An inexpensive starter type kit with an inexpensive vice and the tools Ill need to start to tie flies. I'm excited! If I like it I'm gonna step it up in the spring. I cant wait to tie my own fly that catches my first fish on my fly rod. Yes!

    I'm very glad our tap water isn't like that! We don't have recycled waste water in the system - all that is treated to make it safe for the environment, and then pumped out to sea (that process has much improved over the last 20 years - I can remember a time when there were certain beaches you wouldn't want to swim at, but that's all changed now).

    Our tap water is all good Welsh rain (and we get plenty of that!), stored in reservoirs up in the hills like this:

    Then just filtered clean and lightly treated to be safe, and piped to our homes...and it tastes bloomin' loverly!

    hard water has a high ph balance or not enough minerals or too many but its not a good taste like mountain water

    Folks were soooooooo disappointed today. After losing that heartbreaker last night, I think we already passed the grieving stage! :(

    They still had a great season... and there's always next year!!!

    We get our water from reservoirs that are supplied with water from natural springs and rivers as well as rain and snow.


    New York City and the boroughs for example, get their water supplied to them via aqueducts. Some of the reservoirs that supply that water are located many miles away. This is just one of the reservoirs that supplies water to NY City. When they say NY City has some great drinking water. This is one of the reasons why.

    The watershed in NY is pretty well guarded against pollutants. The City closely guards the watershed areas and pretty much has been purchasing property around the watershed for years. No billion dollar filtration system or anything like that.
    The water is run miles through aqueducts that are 90+% gravity fed. Actually I believe the Delaware Aqueduct, Delaware as in the county, not the State, is the longest continuous tunnel in the world. Its something like 90 miles long.

    Great buffet, OT. I filled my pockets with bagels. Figured I'd hand 'em out to trick or treaters. Little Texas kids will prob think they're mini-frisbees and luv 'em.

    Chilly in Big D today... 61 degrees right now, but at least we've got sunshine.
