The tuna recipe sounds good, except for the raisins...ugh. I've never thought of putting the spicy mustard in it, and it would be healthier.

I don't know that I've ever made honest to goodness egg salad. I've made scrambled egg sandwiches with dressing (miracle whip), salt, pepper and some grated cheese if wanted.

'mornin, all. Thx for all the egg salad recipes, but I'll take my eggs like I take my whiskey... straight up. And Foolie... for the green, my deli serves a scoop of egg salad in the middle of a bed of greens. However, they also offer tuna or chicken salad, so I always get the chicken.

And Falena... I've heard nothin about any Japanese people keeling over from eating tuna. I think you're being a little over-cautious there... give those people some tuna fish. (bless their hearts)

Fixin to hit the road to run errands and do a little shopping. Trying to resist getting my hair cut. I want to let it grow out again, but it's at that BAD stage now. Ugh. Gonna give it a glob of mousse and call it a do.

I know you're right, Tresha... being a hermit would get old... esp if it's not voluntary. I always wanted to stay in Hawaii long enough to get island-fever too... but never made it, even after staying ten days. Couldn't really enjoy it for dreading having to leave. :(

Kimi, have a good weekend, g/f! I'm taking off Mon too so I'll have a 4 day for the next 2 weeks. That'll help.

Ange, have a wonderful day, sweetie. Go burn us something good for dinner. Maybe a little blackened snapper?

Enjoy your long weekend, g/f! We're cooling off for the weekend here, and I can't wait. This has been the longest summer I remember in a long time.

I understand about the raisins, they're not for everyone. I like them, but they give me a sugar rush, kinda like figs. Not something I would eat often.

About the mustard instead of mayo... I would recommend not using nearly as much mustard, as one might typically use of mayo. The brown mustard can become overpowering in taste very quickly, unlike mayo. If the salad mix is a little less moist than one prefers, I suggest a little olive oil added to the mix will work fine. And, it's good for you too. *smile*

** Obviously a diced hard boiled egg is an extra ingredient also. I just rarely eat eggs, and never have one when making my tuna salad.

Walking into the Greasy Spoon Beanery,Guy sashays up to the counter and
flags down Flossie, the Hotsy Totsy waitress with the bra strap neatly exposed.
" Let's see one them Menu thar Toots " blurbed Guy as he carefully puts his
Stetson hat on the 50's Retro cushioned swivel chair next to him.
" Yeah sure enough thar Bub " caterwauls Flossie { Yee Haw } as she also does a little
sashay number down toward the end of the counter to fetch wanted menu.
" Watch out for them curves ahead " barks Guy as he shifts his weight to
git hisself a better look at Flossie as she bends over to retrieve said menu.
With traditional Southern charm she stands a few feet away from Guy and flings the
the menu at him as if a frisby.Like the scene in a W.C.Fields flick.
" Try the Egg Salad Bub " suggests Flossie.
    " Alright ... alright ... Don't rush me Toots ", quips Guy.
" but make mine straight up.And I reserve the right to use You as chaser ".
As a small crowd of cowpokes enter, near stumbling over themselves to get a seat.
One forgetting to look before he sat as one flawless Stetson hat is no more.

Smokey, you reminded me of something. You ever hang on to the side of a tube in a pool and spin around till you were dizzy and then swim underwater with your eyes open? You ever blow a bubble with bubble gum under water? The first one is the best. The second one will get gum in your hair. Trust me.

Why did I just think of that?

Anyone who believes the radiation levels from that disaster do not have major consequences for people, air, water, and wildlife are kidding themselves. They still do not have that under control and are not disclosing true levels of radiation. That problem still is not contained. Those adults, children, plants, animals, insects and anything that was in the huge wide spread area are screwed. They are already finding mutated butterflies that have short life cycles. Dont kid yourself. Just because its not a loud banging of the drum in the news doesnt mean it is not happening. Its the environmental protection shell game world. Ive seen it live with frac drilling. Ive spoken to so many agency's, local and federal whos bottom line is cash, not environmental safety and honesty. Its all about being quiet and playing the money game.

No frac drilling on my property and no tuna from the pacific on my table.

the frac drilling for natural gas is wild, they light the faucets on fire. they say its because those areas use well water, but shaking the ground with those chemicals produces more methane than naturally, those people couldn't light their water on fire before, its something new.

its a big, profitable, expensive industry, but any fossil fuel energy is too hazardous to health, wind and solar is the way

The problem with frac drilling starts at the land leasing level and ends at the disposal level.

They lease your land for a chunk of change based on how much you can squeeze out of them and the going lease prices in the area. Then, if they hit natural gas they give you a negotiated percentage of profit. All well and good. So they drill away. Pump undisclosed liquid and if anyone tells you its disclosed its bull(*)(*)(*)(*), into the ground. The natural gas is released from the shale. Natural elements contained in that rock formation, lead, chromium, arsenic and whatever are also released. Ok fine. Seepage of this into the natual aquifers that feed wells, rivers, stream and reservoirs is introduced to not only some amounts of fracing fluid but the natural elements in the rock formations. Now, they pump as much fluid as they can capture out the put it in "mud pools". Mud pools are rubber liners set on the land that holds the fluid till they come to "properly dispose of it". Oh I almost forgot. They need water to frac. They take that water from stream and reservoir if they pay enough to the state per gallon for it, lol. They then dispose of the fracing material at sewage treatment plants which are not set up to remove dangerous elements. The sewage treatment plants then dump their " brown water" back into oceans, streams, bays and such.

There is no denying that natural gas finds are a plus in many ways. It is a huge plus for this country and should be utilized. Im not saying that. But if you are going to harvest something and destroy the environment in a rush to do it, for the lining of pockets, its not right. Because the kid down stream who gets cancer down the line, his life was worth way more than anyones profits and the investment you put into your property will not come close to the damage done if they do not find gas on your property.

    Off the soap box. lol

LOL...the thing my mom always said when there might be a bit of tension in the air was...."did you hear about that fish that bit the mole off that woman's shoulder?" LMAO...it was enough to stun people into silence a lot of times.

I'm no shark, but I used to think I was pretty good. Come to think of it, I always thought that after a few beers, though.
