It was a different kind of day for me. I'm so used to cooking the meal and having everybody over, it was awesome to have it at the kids' house, then go home and put my PJ's on and chill the rest of the evening. They may wish they hadn't started this....LOL Of course, I think Elijah's BD will be ON Thanksgiving next year.

I started a new tradition... bought everything already cooked. Only thing I prepared was mashed potatoes, stuffed jalapenos & celery. Sure made my day more enjoyable -- I'll be doing this again.

Sounds awesome OT! I did a turkey breast this year too, and basted it with a mixture of garlic, dry mustard, olive oil, lemon juice, rosemary, sage, thyme and salt and pepper, baked in the oven with wine. It was awesome!

Yay for that!!! It definitely is a lot of work. Glad you had a great day!

You are one smartwoman!!! ;-) I did that one year, but the kids were not happy. Next year I think it will be my son and I and a bag of chinese food!

We'll have Christmas with the kids at our house this year, and the menu will most likely be either Mexican food or Beans & Cornbread.

Grandson's new g/f (Love, Facebook Style) brought me a piece of coconut cake her mom made. Best thing I had over Thanksgiving... 3 layers with pineapple filling and that wonderful 'boiled' icing. It was to die for. I was going to share it with my roomies... but they didn't get a crumb. Man it was good!!

I dont mind making desserts, but turkey & dressing is just too much trouble. Esp when the home-cookin restaurants make it just as good as I could... some better!

The ham was so good, I'll prob do another one for Christmas. Talk about easy... spiral cut and the instructions suggested it was better served at room temperature... if you wanted it warm, pull off a few slices and microwave 'em. My kinda prep work!

GS HATES coconut. It's basically the only foodstuff I've run across he DOESN'T eat. That's what started the coconut cake exchange... as soon as he said 'ewwwwwwww' she was determined to bring me a piece.

    Um, she's 26... he's 20. Cougar's start young, huh? :omg:

One picture is worth a thousand words but the memory of that cannot ever be captured on film but will be carried in your heart forever.

I did, too, daisy. I've got pics of my boys with all kinds of stuff on them. My oldest one loved sitting on the cabinet while I mixed and made things. Precious times.

Yawn. Morning all. Boy do I feel lazy this morning. Well I went out and got some donuts for you bums today. Well starting tonight more snow is coming our way right on through wednesday night. Just what I don't need. Oh well, I will probably just burn off those extra calories from the donuts today by shoveling more snow. Have a great day everyone.

I am not big on rap but that wasnt that bad. The lyrics were positive. If your grandson listens to positive lyrics like that, God bless him.

Its about the miracles around us in everday life that we take for granted. He's in tune to deeper meanings. Very cool.
