I moved to a community that I don't know a soul. Should I catch the virus, how do I survive? Sure I SHOULD stay indoors, and already do.

But how do you shop? Go to the doc? Get gas? There is no system set up. Although there should be, even if community charity ran.

We have NO rational system of separation. To expect folks to stop living is not going to happen. There are still tasks that need to be done.

Most grocery stores have delivery services now. And you can order from restaurants as well. You can also order most any basic need items from Amazon. If you don't go out you don't need gas.

I've been ordering using food delivery from restaurants. They even has a new check box asking if you want the food left at the door so you don't have to see anyone directly.

Have many basic staples in your house like potatoes, rice, eggs, meats, etc. so that you can always have those to make meals. Quick meals like canned soups, pizza, sandwich meat, are good to have also. Make sure you have a supply of soap, laundry detergent, dish soap, toothpaste, etc. I thought most people would always have two weeks worth of necessary items but I've learned with this virus that many do not. It's a good thing to get used to.

    You're doomed.

Remember, the red state rural rednecks are out to get you poor, defenseless urban blue city angels, and you don't stand a chance of surviving a blast from the Fox News Pox bioweapon cannon.

    Nice knowin' ya, friendo.

Many doctors are setting up and taking advantage of what's called Telemedicine. LINK: Medicaid ~Telemedicine Essentially you talk to a doctor via video phone and he/she can even give a prognosis over it. The doctors that I deal with make sure to tell their clients about it via email and having us (I work for an answering service) tell them and anyone else that calls also about it.

As for going to the store, bank, gas etc etc, simply observe the 6ft separation rule and if you're really worried about catching it (particularly if you're in an area where there have been many covid cases) wear masks and gloves. Wash your hands and face multiple times a day also. When you take off gloves make sure that you grab the edge and fold the glove as you peel them off. Once you have one peeled off put that one in your hand that still has the glove on and repeat, being sure to peal the glove off the same way while burying the other glove inside it. For masks when you take them off do not put your hand over the front of it. Use the string to take it off making sure that you do not let the outside of the mask touch your skin. Also cough/sneeze into the inside of your arm where your elbow is. Then wash your face and hands.

Just wait it out. You can survive on your own for a couple of months without direct human interaction. Though with the internet now a days you can interact with pretty much anyone from around the world. So its not like you're completely deprived of human interaction. That you posted here is proof of that.

You don't have to stop living. Unless of course your definition of "living" is going out to a bar every night. Then yeah, you do. But its not going to kill ya or hurt you to any degree. This isn't the end of the world. You're not going to spend 10 years in isolation. You'll be just fine.

Yeah probably too late to get that as for some reason people are hoarding it. Get some old socks and repurpose them.

If you get the virus then chances are extremely good that it will feel like the common cold or a weak form of the flu. Drink plenty of water, keep your electrolytes up, and watch television. The big problem arrives if either it is a more virulent form of the virus or if you have chronic lung problems. At that point contact medical professionals and trust in the system.

Yeah, but I work on medical machinery, not humans, so no empathy is required.

If he does not smoke, vape, or have underlying health issues the odds are still with him if he gets the virus. A few people over 100 have now recovered from Chinavirus17+2 aka coronavirus.

If I were extremely anti Trump I would do the opposite of everything that Trumps said to do. Prove to yourself by your actions that he's a moron by doing the exact opposite of anything that he advises people do. Screw distancing. Get as close to as many people as you can and if they act offended or threatened pontificate loudly that you have rights too. Lick banisters, lots of banisters. Act alike an ***** to your neighbors and then demand that they help you. Stay away from charities because most of them are gay hating Christians. They might be happy to help anyone but it's all about the ideology and rhetoric, not the reality.

If it were me I would try to find a way to stock up and stay to myself and watch youtube videos on how not to cross contaminate, use Amazon a lot and have King Soopers (or whatever grocery store will do it) do your shopping for you and then just pick it up.

If you don't have a mask, put a pair of underdrawers on your head.

Trust me, nobody is going to come anywhere near a guy with boxer shorts on his head.

People start showing symptomatic around you and getting ill and dropping dead should be enough to scare anyone into isolation; on lockdown we're still allowed to go to the shops, but food shopping is different these days with a limit of how many customers can shop and other measures for crowd control.
Got bouncers at the grocery store now after a 20 minute wait to enter.

There are those who define "living" as simply being able to survive from one day to the next. Basic existence as it were.

There are also those who define "living" as having an abundance of extravagance, such as the ability to freely travel wherever they wish, whenever they wish, simply because they want to do it. They regard "living" as having entirely unnecessary creature comforts that have nothing to do with survival.

Pray tell, exactly how is "living" actually defined on the part of yourself?

You're no different than 95% of us. I stay inside except for trips to get food once each week. It sounds like you want government to wipe your ass for you.

My driver’s license expires in a couple weeks and the Dept of Motor Vehicles is closed. I can’t renew my license. I’ll just drive illegally. And if ANYONE (cops, etc.) says anything to me, they’ll get an earful of f-bombs.

    Life sucks.

I have to check my blood anticoagulant level or I stroke out, or get blood clots in my lungs, legs or other areas. Or hemorrhage.

Perhaps you think you were being cute. Not so cute. If I have the virus, those persons that draw my blood will turn me away. To get there, I need gas.

All of you thought you had me snowflaked. Not so much.

Personally, I don't think that I could trust delivery food. It's said that the virus can live for 3 days on paper and most delivery food comes in cardboard containers and we would have no idea on the health of the people preparing and delivering the food.

I've now got into the routine of not touching anything I've brought home for three days including mail and parcels. Frozen food is a bit awkward

I've been spraying the packages that are delivered with sanitizer.

UV light and sunlight will kill the buggies too. Or you could put it in the freezer and freeze the beasties.
