You know as much as I love forums for our ability to easily talk to one another without being interrupted in between sentences, as you so often see happen on television debates, I also find it to be extremely impersonal typing everything online. I am curious as to what you all sound like! So if you want to and you have a microphone or the ability to share what you sound like with us that would be awesome. If you are too shy to share or don't have microphone capabilities then you can always describe your sexay singing voices to us instead. Anyways here's me, I sound like your typical west coast American girl! =) http://vocaroo.com/i/s03dRye7Ca4J
You have a nice clear voice, easy to hear and understand. And did I hear a dog bark in the background at the start? http://vocaroo.com/i/s14Iwtm5huMf EDIT: This is fun! If I knew people would use it I'd host a Ventrilo server for all of us to chat on. Might be interesting talking/debating with one another directly through voice chat, of course I am sure people will interrupt too much if we debate! lol
I agree, and you have a lovely, open, clear voice also! I will think about taping mine. . .but I know I'll get a lot negative comments because of my heavy, unusual accent! So I'll think about it and try to garner enough courage to do it anyway. . .because I think you have a GREAT idea!
Thanks! I looove hearing people's accents! Every time I go into a gaming ventrilo and chat with all the new people it's so cool to hear all the differences in accents. =)
Really? Because you spoke pretty clearly on mic. Could just be because it was directly recorded. btw I sent you a vocaroo response about your username. I had no idea I was pronouncing it incorrectly for forevers now! lol - - - Updated - - - http://vocaroo.com/i/s1ojxuJark0B
I wouldn't be surprised if most people pronounce the last syllable in their head as "quin" or "queen" instead of "quine" rhyming with "fine". But it's okay; I've been pronouncing yours as "PƏ-SITH-ee-Ə" in my head prior to hearing you say it.
Haha I have actually been pronouncing my own screen name wrong for a long time. It is Greek and I never really knew how it was pronounced until I heard it online. Even now I think I am still saying it wrong. Oh well, I'll stick to Pasi (Pass-ee) for short. http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=pasithea&submit=Submit
I just call you Pas for short. Yeah, I'm kinda lazy like that. I remember you had in your signature the correct way on how to pronounce your name. Whenever I thought about it and remembered too I always tried to pronounce it right in my head. It's weird I know but I feel like I'm just being disrespectful if I don't say someone's name right even if you never know.
Don't do anything you're not comfortable with but don't worry about what other people think about either. I'd rather have you and your unusual accent(that probably didn't come out right)then a jerk with a clear strong voice. Besides, it's part of what makes you who you are.
I actually like the idea behind this thread. I'll admit, I thought it was kind of weird at first but it's pretty cool. I don't have a mike so I can't really record my voice. You can however log onto wjxr.com during the week(and sometimes on saturday)and listen anytime between 6 and midnight and you may get a chance to hear my voice in the background.
I'm a board op for a radio station here in town. We don't play music though, we just sell a bunch of stuff instead. The on air host will occasionally ask a question that I'll shout an answer too. I've also probably been heard saying howdy(I don't know why I say it, I just do)whenever I come in and I'm greeted by whoever is on air. That's pretty much the extent of my "radio personality".
Woot! I hope more people come in and share their voices, nice to meet you in a whole new way Jack. I really wanna see Mak come in here, I know she's an Aussie too but I have never read her comments with an Australian accent in mind.
Interestingly enough back in the day we used to be called "Shark County" so it kinda fits I guess. Either way I'm just glad we dropped the country music theme....god I hate country music.
I used to hate country music...I hate to say that stuff is kinda growing on me. My best friend listens to it and it doesn't drive me as absolutely mad as it used to. Although the general lyrics in mainstream country music are very stupid/silly sounding most of the time.
I used to love country when I was a kid. Then it got stupid. I'll occasionally hear a song that I like but for the most part it's like "make the suffering stop! For the love of god and all that is good in humanity turn that crap off!" At least in my head. I try not to be a dick about it when it's someone else's, elses, elseseses? Not really sure about that but whatever, anyway, some other person's radio.
Else's! It's else's. Totally looked it up. Probably could be doing more productive things like sleeping since it's about 2:30 right now but yeah, still figured it out.
Whoa! Not expecting that. For some reason, I heard you in my head with more of a quiet, mousey type voice. I think you totally nailed it, though. Typical west coast girl is..... like..... totally..... like..... how I would probably describe you. Your second audio clip to Sadanie was cute.
Besides being something of an open invitation to stalkers putting your voice online identifies you positively, forever, to anybody in the world. We express controversial opinions here and I can't help but think that anything even slightly impinging on our anonymity is a rather ambiguous benefit. I'm not against the idea but don't think it should be a casual decision. Besides, I sound like a combination of Vin Diesel and Sheldon Cooper, I pass, thanks anyway. You sound very nice though, even, clear and well modulated with just a hint of the dulcet. You should sing.
