Lol! Man, I'm glad you clarified on that Jefferson quote. Because believe it or not, that's the first place my mind went when you paused - George.
Let me just say THANK YOU! We are an awesome Internet forum community. And by the way, you sound like the least androgynous male I have ever heard. =D - - - Updated - - - Awesome! Thanks for stopping in BTR! =D
I keep waiting to hear you sound just like Steve Wilkos or something because that's what your avi looks like. lol LOL! Steve Wilkos + the Boondocks. Win, win, win. Ahahahaha!
Aw thanks. I just thought it'd be cool to see what we all sound like, maybe get an idea of what we sound like screaming political opinions at one another. lol! ^_^
you're the first person I've ever got a positive response about it (outside of people I already know) including at a site I was at for years. I think its a good idea as you become more familiar with people it looks like youre going to be talking to to do that because online discussions can affect some people at different times in a more personal way. (even if its just the familiarity of the site) and because not seeing and hearing who you're talking to equals a both ways potential for ongoing misunderstandings or stupid arguments. Also for myself, I like disagreements to be over with as quick as possible and I suck at writing so blah blah.even if its just being polite, thanks for the reply.
Absolutely agreed. I think it's easier to be nicer to people when you can hear their voices. Because it humanizes them. And I think that's good for civil dialogue. Plus, when you can hear the inflections in somebody's voice, it can put a whole different spin on what they're saying. Sometimes it can be easy to misinterpret attitude just from words alone. Something that might not have been intended as something hostile can come across that way. Hearing their voice can help clarify intentions. Like I know I can sometimes come off as a dick on here. And to be fair, sometimes I am being a dick. But for the most part, I'm a pretty chill guy. I'm not into spreading negative vibes. And half the stuff I say that probably rubs some people the wrong way is purely for laughs. It's not serious. But it's probably hard to gauge that just from looking at a screen. In real life, there are vocal inflections and facial expressions that add context.
That would be the testosterone that did that. I kind of hate how deep my voice is getting. I didn't like it when it was really high five years ago, either. I liked the nice middle ground my voice had for a few years.
It would be a bit like YouTube, but obviously easier and actually a bit more private for those using it. How many people have expressed dislike for the idea of a video phone, for example, but enjoy using it as-is for audio communication? There could well be a demand for an audio chat site.
I think they already have that, ChatRoulette! lol But trust me...no one wants to go there except for two things, fapping and trolling the fappers. ROFL! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQaPGcbVPRY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSArz0T3H3w
Well, no, that's also video Also, I'm not saying it would have to be *live* audio chat.. Live would be like Ventrilo and all that, I suppose, which is certainly quite popular amongst gamers. I suppose such a site could offer both ways - live audio chatting and audio posting, rather like we've been doing here.
Yeah I can already imagine all the interrupting that would go on with live audio chat amongst members here. lol Probably best to have a separate chat where you can save your audio uninterrupted and submit it back and forth. That would certainly be interesting to hear.
here's something I found a few years ago http://www.blogtalkradio.com/ I don't work at a computer, so I'm not hosting anything. But maybe there will be a forum option for that, if anyone is interested.
Sounds like fun Make a suggestion in 'feedback and questions', gather some backing first by creating a poll in this sub forum?
I sound like this: I'm the dude in the front. That was our graduation ceremony, and we were tasked with playing a few songs. The look on the principal's face is something that nobody will ever take from me.
