<<<Mod edit: Flamebait>>> America is now highly in favor of allowing same sex couples to marry. And by allowing it through the constitution and not the bigoted states. We all knew this was inevitable. And it will become the law of the land regardless of state constitutions (which really mean nothing). Once again republicans are on the losing side.

Rob Portman isn't an idiot like Santorum or Palin.....that helps.

But yes....marriage equality will probably get help from SCOTUS, and no states will be able to prohibit it anymore by 2020..that's my guess, maybe before.

And states shouldn't be allowed to. These tea party extremists take the concept of states rights well beyond its intention. Its is as if they still think the Articles of Confederation are the law of the land.

Republicans are on to this trend and have tamed their anti-gay marriage rhetoric. Extremists like the Tea Party and the religious right who are identified with the Republican Party may do some damage though.

All 320 million Americans were not represented in this poll. You do not know that all Americans support gay marriage.

I see, then perhaps you have a poll showing all 320 million Americans being against gay marriage?

No because there is no such poll. Thus we'll never know for certain where the majority stands on any particular topic.

But never mind that...lets drink kool aid and cheer for our team!

You do know - as a result of the poll you now know a majority of Americans support gay marriage.

Congrats. When do progressives start the long, arduous process of normalizing pedophilia as the next "alternative lifestyle"? When will bigoted "pedophobes" become the next villain?

Yes. The poll was conducted on exactly 161 million Americans. :roflol:

I doubt very much that 2 and 3 year olds will ever be represented in the polls any better than by their parents! Duh!

You might want to read up on representative polling, extrapolation, margin of error etc.

Dear, if every person in the US, including babies and people with advanced Alzheimer or an IQ of 25 were polled. . .it wouldn't be a poll anymore!

Why don't you go do some research on "polling" and "statistics" and "margin of errors," and "reliability."

I know that, as a conservative, you are probably kind of worried about the reliability of polls since the 2012 elections. . .but that was because the Right wing pollsters were "playing games" with the numbers. First thing to do is look at the SOURCE of the polls.

Fox News has probably less credibility than any other outlets!

Old people are the ones who are prejudiced and don't support it. Wait for them to die and the young ones will see that marriage equality has a huge majority.

Sweetie pie. If the majority of Americans supported gay marriage then half of 320 million people plus one would have to be included in the poll.

And that pumpkin, is an indisputable fact.

    Toodles!

First off, with regard to your dumbass stupid partisan hack post. Obama was against same-sex marriage in 2008. Hillary and Bill too ! And how about the bigoted black and Hispanic community ! They are really against it !! You forgot to mention them in your ill-informed partisan rant ....

All that said, just as society is slowly getting out from under its veil of ignorance on homosexuality, owned by no political persuasion, as I have demonstrated, so too are they realizing that gays should be able to choose partners just as straights do, and live as normal as the everybody else.

    Many Conservatives/Libertarians hold this view.

Because the Washington Compost did a poll? If I go out and poll 100 people and 90 of them say they don't support gay marriage, then I can prove you wrong.

A majority of Californians voted against gay marriage in 2008. That's the only poll that should matter, but of course liberals only believe elections and voting have consequences when they win.

Which conservatives are in favor of same sex marriage, except for Portman.

Oh and my "partisan" rant as you put it is shared by the majority of America. Face it your ideology is not wanted.

Although I don't think it will be "huge", I believe that view of the dynamic to be relatively accurate. It will be a reasonable majority.

That's a good point. Blacks and Hispanics were the reasons why gay marriage was never democratically passed here in California. I wonder if white liberals are willing to be brave enough to have a heart-to-heart with their loyal pet minority groups on this issue?

So why not allow gay marriage now, because its going to be allowed in the future regardless of what people think?

It won't come to that. It will be young conservatives who finally get it passed.
