Nice. I hadn't noticed how those daily deaths have all but flatlined over there. Been reading some articles recently basically saying that Sweden got it right. That graph though, good find.

Since the start of July Sweden, with 10 million people, has registered roughly the same number of deaths as Australia, with 25 million, has registered for the whole epidemic - around 120. Greece, with the same population as Sweden, has had 194 deaths in total & only 2 in July. Greece locked down hard early & reopened considerably in June.

If people are telling you Sweden got it right they are either pushing an ideological barrow or using a data set so limited that their assessments are worthless. Greece got it right, and has close to 5500 fewer dead to show for it. Maybe you should read different articles.

The reporting standards are different among different countries.
Australia standards of reporting coronavirus death might be different from Sweden.
Roughly, the death rate should be the same everywhere, including United States.
Even in US the average death rate in 2020 is no different from 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Do you wear an N-95 respirator, properly fitted, every time you interact with another human being? Do you maintain at least six feet of distance from all other people 100% of the time? Do you sanitize your hands every time you touch a surface? Or do you always wear latex gloves? Do you make sure to avoid unhealthy habits like smoking, drinking, sugary foods, not exercising, etc.? Do you regularly get tested to see if you are carrying the virus? I bet you don't even come close to doing these things. So by your own logic, you're basically murdering grandmas.

It's not a questionable statistic, it is a fact.

According to the latest data, 5,639 Swedes have died from COVID.

Sweden's population is roughly 10.23 million.

That's about 0.05% of your population.

If you were to learn that the corporate media is lying about the severity of this virus, would it surprise you?

Actually, it is. Exposure to nature helps modulate and strengthen our immune systems, whereas social isolation and prolonged indoor living is strongly associated with suppressed immune function.

Daily deaths have basically flattened everywhere. An Israeli mathematician did a study that showed the virus follows roughly the same pattern everywhere regardless of what policies are pursued. In other words, humans don't actually know how to stop a virus from spreading.

And yet Sweden has performed better than Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain and Belgium, all of whom have had strict lock downs.

Greece is clearly an anomaly by the way. They are basically lower than every country in Europe. Pretty disingenuous to use them as a baseline. But without disingenuous tactics, the arguments for lock downs would collapse completely.

I have no idea what this has to do wiht Sweden having 5500 more deaths than Australia. OK, so imagine Sweden massively overreports and its 'only' 2500 more deaths than Australia - that would still be over 5000 dead Australians compared to 130 and it would mean that per capita Sweden still logged as many COVID deaths in July as we have since....forever.

Oh, and our economy is no worse than Sweden's, possibly better.

Any way you look at it, Sweden is a disaster.

It is hard to miscount dead people and you are very wrong about the death rate being the same as previous years

So you cherry pick the worst nations in Europe & then whine about me comparing with Greece. Can't say I'm shocked. Without that sort of cherry picking the argument for the 'Swedish model'. Of course, Sweden is almost as bad as those nations & MUCH worse than many others that did lock down.

OK, lets look at some other European nations that locked down more than Sweden:

Sweden, 5639 deaths, 558 per million.

Germany: 9173 deaths, 109 per million.
    Hungary: 596, 62.
    Norway: 255, 47.
    Finland: 328, 59
    Denmark: 611, 105.
    Serbia: 482, 55.
    Austria: 710, 79.
    Czechia: 359, 34.
    Croatia: 122, 30.

I could have made a list close to wice that long with European nations that have a death rate under 200 per million and three or more times as long (or more) if the only criteria is 'better than Sweden'. None of this information is hard to find.

Literally the only way you can maintain your argument is to hope that no one who reads your posts can google & read basic numbers. Sweden has been a disaster. There are basically a handful of European nations that did worse than Sweden. Everyone else did better. Everyone else. As I've said before, the functional difference between an ideologue & an idiot is nonexistent.

I am not brainwashed so I am ok.
You can clearly see the moving average on this CDC chart.
Weekly number of deaths (from all causes)

There is no deaths reporting standards, that is a problem.
We have to look at the total number of deaths seasonally adjusted.
The numbers are fudged and politicized everywhere including US.
Just look at the CDC total deaths chart moving averages, there are the same as in the last three years.

Why did you snip out the country with the highest Covid deaths per million, San Marino? I really think it would be good if a little more attention was focused on that tiny country. A lot of people, myself included, have considered that radio frequencies, in particular 5G, might be playing a role in Covid 19, if only by weakening people's immune systems. EMF scientists have been warning for years that there is sufficient evidence against 5G and other radio frequencies to warrant a moratorium on 5G networks and more research on older ones (4G, 3G, etc.). Perhaps the most well known article on the subject is from Joel Moskowitz, a blogger at Scientific American:
    https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/observations/we-have-no-reason-to-believe-5g-is-safe/

There's also the following from Wikipedia:
    **
In 2019, 180 scientists from 36 countries wrote to the European Union requesting a pause on 5G rollout, because of their concerns about possible health risks.[104] In April 2019, the city of Brussels in Belgium blocked a 5G trial because of radiation laws.[105] In Geneva, Switzerland, a planned upgrade to 5G was stopped for the same reason.[106]

    ...
According to CNET,[108] "Members of Parliament in the Netherlands are also calling on the government to take a closer look at 5G. Several leaders in Congress have written to the Federal Communications Commission expressing concern about potential health risks. In Mill Valley, California, the city council blocked the deployment of new 5G wireless cells."[108][109][110][111][112] Similar concerns were raised in Vermont[113] and New Hampshire.[108] After campaigning by activist groups, a series of small localities in the UK, including Totnes, Brighton and Hove, Glastonbury, and Frome passed resolutions against the implementation of further 5G infrastructure.[114][115][116]
    **
    Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5G#Health

Anyway, back to San Marino. It just so happens that San Marino has had full 5G coverage since the end of 2018:
    https://telecoms.com/494256/tim-flips-on-the-5g-switch-in-san-marino/

I know this isn't the case with all of the top countries that have high Covid 19 deaths, but a lot of the covid 19 deaths per million countries have either 5G or a lot of 4G coverage. Air pollution has also been deemed to be a factor, perhaps the most significant of all.
    https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20200427-how-air-pollution-exacerbates-covid-19

The mass media and governments have been trying hard to censor any mention of the possibility that 5G could be related to the fierceness of this new virus, but alt media still manages to get a word in now and then despite all the censorship. Some articles that I think show promise that I just found:
    https://nairametrics.com/2020/03/16/why-covid-19-is-linked-to-5g-launch/
    https://davidicke.com/2020/02/19/coronavirus-5g-connection-coverup/

Because nations with LESS than one million in population cannot be fairly ranked with nations that have GREATER than one million in population.

I recommend that you REFRAIN from posting Conspiracy Theories about the Covid virus in THIS forum. There is a specific WARNING to this effect.

~ Maybe they just like the Swedish ..? :blowkiss:
~ I had some jelly beans this week. :aww:
~ Not the way I look at it. The Swedes are happy. Americans are miserable. Swedish children are in school. None became ill or died and none infected a teacher. American kids are home driving Mom & Pop crazy. Suicide rates are flat in Sweden. Americans are killing themselves and each other. People living in Sweden mostly stay sober - and happy. They realize that they were too late to lockdown - so they did not. They still hug and kiss when appropriate.
Sweden may not be the best at dealing with the Wuhan virus catastrophe - but they certainly are not "a disaster".

I read https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/USA/united-states/death-rate There was a steady decline in #of deaths per 1000 in the US around 1988 to 2009. Then the rates started to go up, well before 2020 and Corona. Example 2018 8.685 +1.220. 2019 8.782 + 1.120 2020 8.880. +1.120 The last figure from 2020 shows a similar increase to 2019... but we are only 7 months into the year.
I look forward to checking again at the end of the year.
ITMT: is the median deaths coming from 79 year olds? Coumo has literally stated on camera that if all of our efforts save one life, it will have been worth it. I am skeptical.
We in the US have sent our sons (and even sometimes our daughters) to fight, kill, and die in wars around the world to protect our way of life. This virus has badly harmed that way of life.
Given the choice, would you be OK with living in freedom and prosperity your entire life and then dying at 78... or live to be 80 as a slave?

This analysis is nonsense. Sweden had a max death rate of over 100 per day and with a population of ~ 10 million that would extrapolate to > 3000 per day to compare to US population. US current death rate is ~ 1000 per day.

Neighbor countries have banned travelers from Sweden.

A massive outbreak is portended for Sweden when summer ends and the population spends more time indoors."

    Please don't thank me.

    "
With the onset of summer, Sweden's outbreak finally slowed down. From a peak of more than 100 deaths per day, the country is now reporting daily death tolls in the low teens.

But in a couple months, when the short northern summer ends, people will head back indoors, where the virus could easily explode again.

I checked your link and couldn't find what the median age of those deaths are. Would you know?

The oldest Boomers were BORN in 1946 so they turned 65 in 2011.

That is when the mortality rate starts to increase significantly.

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/241572/death-rate-by-age-and-sex-in-the-us/

As you can see in the chart above there will be about 18 million fewer boomers in 2015 than there were in 2015.

LOL. But seriously: you need to live long enough to see your kids get to procreation age. I'm pretty old and the kids JUST moved out... and they moved out pretty young (22 and 25). I think, all things being equal, the kids will be alright. Everyday above ground at this point is a gift for me, though, I would like to see/help raise my grand kids if I get some.

Great point about the boomers. Your last sentence: you mean 18 million fewer in 2020 than 2015?
