T-Bills Selling Like Hotcakes; T-Party Rebuked

Just a few days from the near default brought on by Tea Party fanatics in the House, T-bills are selling in record amounts, with yields dropping, as investors worldwide abandon stocks and seek the safety of bonds backed by the full faith and credit of the US government.

This is seen by economists as a global rebuke of the Republican Party's anti-government bombast and Austrian School predictions of hyperinflation.

It has the added advantage of making available to the US government low-interest loans to finance the debt, which is why economists like Paul Krugman suggest using this opportunity to increase spending for infrastructure, not reducing.

In short the economic facts on the ground have once again turned out to be 180 degrees opposite to conservative claims.

Thank God! the economy is saved, unemployment numbers are falling way down, people are working, the national debt is on the verge of being paid off, we are not going to be down graded, the stock market has had a great month long run.

It is the slowdown of the U.S. economy which expanded at a anemic pace of 1.3 percent in the spring after barely growing in the first three months of the year that has spurred the sale of T Bills. Bonds rise when investors expect the economy to be soft.

Cutting a tax does not create deficit spending. I am sad to see you think it does but that is not what cutting a tax does. However, since the left is now trying to say a tax cut is deficit spending I understand the zombie like duplication of that new talking point from the left to try and justify even more spending.
