At the end of the day you either believe the unborn at a certain stage of development is our equal or you don't. It does not matter what you call it. Word games don't make it more sensible to see a freshly ferilized egg cell as our moral equal.Nor do word games make it sensible to view a being as morally different a moment before and after birth.

Yes/no it is more a spectrum because it is so complex. Post 110 above lists some of the genetic anomalies that can lead to intersex/DSD but there are a whole lot more. Some like Androgen Insensitivity Disorder the child will be born male but his cells do not respond to testosterone so he cannot develop secondary sex characteristics. If it is severe enough (CAID) they will have XY chromosomes but have female characteristics.
