Well that barely made sense, but I'll have a crack at it in any case.

Show me the planet upon which cause and effect doesn't apply? Where is this magical place - where we can simply choose to buy our way out of consequences, like spoiled Kings?

I myself served in our Airborne at Ft. Benning GA in that era and those Democrats today thinking they are right are the same as the racists in the South were.

What you do or do not 'accept' is of no moment.

Adapting to changes in the physical and societal world are necessary to advance. Refuse to drive a car? It will take you twice as long or better to get somewhere. Refuse medical care for critical conditions? The rather literal version of 'adapt or die'. Won't buy a refrigerator? You have a couple of choices there, but require annoying, long term obligations for cooling your food.

Some aspects of 21st century life are literal, some are figurative 'adapt or die'. Not having a photo ID is part of the figurative category. A person can survive without one, albeit inconvenient and unnecessary to do so.

I reject those arguments because they fail on their face. They fail one simple question-what if it wasn’t their choice to make? It fails to take into account the structural reasons people make decisions.

You are weighting your question on a minority percentage.

How many people do not know how to drive, and why.
How many people do not accept medical care in crisis situations, and why.
How many people do not own/rent/have access to a refrigerator, and why.

They don't 'fall on their face'. They are universally accepted basics in 21st century life. To actively reject them based on 'because I don't want to' is not a valid argument. Extenuating circumstances that may exist, does not require the rest of the population to adjust to the minority.

No. Why are you speaking to me in English? It’s not because it’s the rational thing to do. It’s because this is an English forum and you are required to speak English here. Why don’t you know how to drive? Half of the population in NY lives in NYC, why bother driving when you have public transportation? Thats a structure which encourages people to get off the road. Why do people need cars? Poor public transportation. It’s not about rational choice but the rules of the game.

These aren’t small percentages, theyre people.

Side note, just because people in NYC don't drive, doesn't mean they don't know how to, and could if they wanted too.

    You have proven my point.
The majority speak English, so adjust or 'perish'. I prefer the term fall by the wayside, but the original argument by Crank used 'perish'. If you refuse to speak English here, you will either be ignored or banned.

If you don't provide an ID to vote, as the majority do, you will not be allowed to vote.

I'm going to tell about my voter suppression story living in the American south.

In 1997 we moved to Tennessee from Illinois. While engaging in normal activities like grocery shopping we noticed the county election office not far away.

One day after getting my Tennessee drivers license I walked in and asked to register to vote. Showed my ID and other items with my address, filled out a brief form and got my voter ID card. On that ID it told me what precinct I lived in and where the polling place was for that precinct.

3 years later my brown skinned immigrant wife got her citizenship.

One day she walked in and asked to register to vote. Showed her ID and other items with our address, filled out a brief form and got her voter ID card.
On that ID it told her what precinct she lived in and where the polling place was for that precinct.

There you have it folks. Voter suppression!!!!

That doesn’t explain why they have or haven’t yet though. Simply saying they have a choice doesn’t explain anything at all.

The majority speak English because the mods ban people who speak foreign languages and take down posts in foreign languages. It’s not about survival of the fittest, it’s the rules in place.

The argument put forth for the minority that do not have IDs is accessibility, which has been routinely proven to be false.

The rules in this country include showing an ID to vote. A number of first world nations also require it. Why should the rules be changed to suit the few, who for one reason or another, will not or do not bother to obtain one, then claim they are disenfranchised?

1/10 is a minority. If anything you have just made the "but they can get id" argument which is actually the opposite of what the evidence suggests. You haven't proven anything wrong. You just aren't engaging with the evidence that proves your position wrong. I mean Butterballs was the only one to do that. And I thank them for that.

You've quote 1/10th before, but I have yet to find supporting evidence. Inclusive of the evidence, should be a break down as to why these people do not have identification. And that should answer the actual question of voluntary or involuntary.

It references a speech given by Eric Holder, with no citations other than a survey, and no indication that the people who may have responded yes, were even interested in voting. No were reasons (other than anecdotal) why they may not have IDs. Post election survey says they inquired about a driver's license. That is not the only form of photo ID.

    How is that suppression?

I was actually looking for facts, not vague numbers with no support or explanation. That I could find in any number of places.

Who FORCED them to live in NYC? That's right .. no one. They CHOOSE to live there.

Your arguments fail at every turn.

My immigrant husband has to jump through a lot of hoops every time he does any of this stuff. As do every member of his family. Just as I had to when I was residing in his country of birth.

Where is this evidence showing that they are forced by law to avoid obtaining ID?

Iowa Dem Rita Hart Gives Up Contested House Race

A recount in November named Miller-Meeks the winner, by six votes out of 400,000 votes cast.
    https://www.nationalreview.com/news...king&utm_campaign=newstrack&utm_term=23391916

So what's that about election fraud being so rare and no widespread enough it could not effect an election. It would have taken 7 fraudulent votes to change the outcome of this election. That is .0017% percent of the vote. Is that statistically insignificant enough? Not widespread enough? The Dem candidate has tried and tried and tried to find enough votes to give her the win but has given up. Nancy Pelosi is trying to get the House to not seat the Republican winner. WOW where is the MSM outrage she is trying to usurp the will of the People, an election?

Multiple surveys. Not one. Multiple citations. Not none. Or your second argument of "but were they going to vote" fails to think that they're not voting because the system is rigged against them.

This is why I hate arguing. I have made the same points over and over again but this is the level of responses I get? Don't even look at the evidence I bring to the table. Let me know when you can actually respond to what I've said.

Person who ignores what I say and can't look at the evidence against their position says what?

Minority rights debunk that argument. That's a tyranny of the majority right there.

    This, for voting.

    1) You have not once provided evidence that people are FORCED by LAW to refrain from obtaining ID and/or voting. That will be because there is no force or law which prevents people from doing those things. There are only personal reasons for avoiding ID and/or voting.

    2) On what planet does does the majority **** itself over for the minority and everybody still wins? Is it the one not subject to the laws of physics - cause and effect? Where people get to be feted just 'cause?

    3) Great, you provided a YT video about something in Europe. Please post the exact laws preventing people from obtaining ID in AMERICA, today.

    1. I don't have to show force. I just have to show the system can disenfranchise people by putting into place really high standards for that community.
    2. Minority rights. Deal with it. Minority populations are by definition vulnerable. They need certain protections from the majority. That's why we don't cite physics. Nobody cares if atom a is underrepresented.
    3. Oh my gosh you really don't get it do you?
