Our Galaxy is actually receding from the edge of the known Universe, making it appear as an expansion.
To add to my post which was edited out of time. Attachment 252432 is incorrect for 2 reasons. It is simply based on the Bible saying that god told Abraham he descendants would occupy from the Egyptian border to the Euphrates river. No layout can be exactly defined as many features spoken about are unknown. The layout is not according to the borders laid down in the Bible as far as can be noted. The main reason is simply that there never were 12 tribes of Israel. The whole story of Abraham through to Moses and the Exodus was written whilst the Hebrews were in the Babylonian exile to give them an extended origin. Their captors - particularly the Babylonian section of the NeoBabylonian Empire, had a long history extending back at least a 1000+ years. The Hebrews known history was only about 400-500 years though they are mentioned by the Egyptians in the 13th century BCE as being a tribe in Canaan. The errors in the stories give credence to this. The writers of the story made errors through lack of their knowledge of ancient history. The Hebrews (Israel) were never in Egypt. Not a shred of evidence puts them there as is described in the Bible. Certainly small tribes from Canaan and desert tribes from the Negev would venture into the Nile Delta to feed their flocks and replenish needed goods in trade. The only tribe known to settle in Egypt was very much earlier. The Hyksos were a Levantine tribe who ventured into Egypt when it was left without any real rulers. They were in the Upper Egypt. The Hyksos simply installed themselves mainly in the Delta and made Aviris their capital. Their customs, culture etc were almost the same as other Palestine tribes. Given genealogy and supposed 430+ years in Egypt that would put the Hebrews near to same time as the Hyksos. And the Hyksos certainly left in a hurry when Ahmose I - Pharaoh of Upper Egypt - journeyed north to reclaim Lower Egypt and then went on to recover lost territory elsewhere. The tribes in the North were simply Indigenous tribes. 'Kings' were mainly city rulers ruling an area of land round the city. They fell out with each other but when threatened from outside amalgamated to form an enlarged army. It was the practise of the day. An example is the story of David in Philistia. The kings of the 5 Philistine cities combined their forces to attack Israel. The same happened when the Assyrians invaded. Cities joined their forces to combat invaders. Abraham to Moses and to Joshua's invasion of Palestine is simply made up. It flies against know facts and the backgound on which it is written.
That's not to the point. There's never been a time when I've ever seen a sentence in the Bible that begins "the age of the universe is..." imho the Bible is the word of God & I'm not about to demote the Bible down to some kind of history book. Sometimes the Bible suggests that a day is from sunrise to sunset. Other places a day is from equinox to equinox, and some places a day is 360 years As for what kind of "day" are we looking at in Genesis 1:5, there's no mention of just how long that "day" was, remember there was no sun yet for telling time. The duration evidently was not important compared to the greater points being made.
So to know personally that God lives is a small matter? I made no reference to Joseph Smith. There's a story in the Bible where Jesus asked his Apostles who men said or thought he was. His Apostles answered that some say you are this prophet and others say you are that prophet. Then Jesus asked them, but who do YOU say I am. The point being that to reference or parrot or conclude is one thing. But to know is what matters. Peter answered and said you are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Jesus then said that Peters testimony didn't come from flesh or man or hearing or surmising. But that it came from his Father in heaven thru personal revelation. Further he said that upon this "rock" (of revelation) he would build his Church, and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. So while it is good to believe Peters testimony, a surety can only come from knowing for ones own self. Otherwise it is borrowed oil like the five foolish virgins. Jesus taught a similar lesson to the woman at the well, in that water is a temporary satisfaction, but that his water springs up forever. It is to know that matters. So when you tell me that the scriptures are a hoax and there is no God, it is not of a surety. It is only your personal conclusion. Furthermore, one would have to know all things inside and outside of time to say there is no God in the mix. To say that, aside from the obvious impossibility of knowing all things known and unknown, one would place oneself in the stead of God, saying there is no God beside me, but me. So it is a very dangerous and soul killing prospect in which you are engaged. It is the ultimate delusion near which you stand. For myself I know by Gods spirit that he lives and is divine. It's nearly all I know of any worth. And I know it by his power, will, and command rather than by my own devices. To know that God lives, one only need know that one thing, leaving all else to the wind. Salvation isn't an academic pursuit. It begins in truth and is the gift from God. To say Jesus Christ is our savior or just a man, pivots on sincerity of ones heart. But for what it's worth, it if for those who reject him that he died the most and suffered the most sorrow.
The significance of writs, scriptures, etc. compiled into a extraordinarily conflicted and biased book has some historical value perhaps, but to rely on soundly conjectural work remains moot in any great value except to antiquity buffs.
No, mine is a sudden gift from God. Trevor's is of his own long making, not unlike the crafted statue Gods of antiquity, or the golden calf raised by the Jews when Moses was too long away. They all fabricate justification for their doings.
There is no evidence except your own belief in an experience. For all you know your experience could simply be all in the mind/brain despite all your denial. And the story of Moses is simply made up as I've already shown on here. You can understand that if you dare to study the Background on which the Bible is written. The story doesn't fit anywhere in ancient history. There are so many different versions of timing using various different Bible references that it is obvious its just a story. So silly in fact that it could almost have been written by Trump.
There's only one true God whom all primitives reject, because to accept the truth is to accept light, and light is intelligence. Primitives are overshadowed by superstition and fear the light, preferring darkness to hide their shame.
I don't know the Bible. And I have no foundation in religious tradition. I only know from his spirit that God lives. And at the same time in a vision by his spirits endorsement of scripture, that the testimonies are true, and that Jesus Christ is the savior. I'm real. I live. I'm learned in nothing. And I know that God is real, that he lives and is divine. So your saying that the Patriarchs never lived, that others were simply ignorant prisoners of religious tradition and that therefore there is no God, runs contrary to my testimony of which my life is evidence to the truth. You can't say I don't live, and you can't say I am a product of religious indoctrination to undermine my testimony that I know that God is real, lives, and is divine. You have no evidence of anything to the contrary.
You don't know the Bible yet you regularly quote from it. You regularly tell me I'm wrong but you don't know the Bible, or ancient history on which the Bible is based. That really is a ridiculous statement. If god had spoken to a primitive and he talked about it, the others would have considered him mad. They had no real ideal of god. In their ignorance they wouldn't have understood what the man was talking about. Primitives had no shame. It is only as man has progressed that certain things have become shameful. Tribes left in the Amazon Jungle have no shame in running naked through the jungle for instance. Today it is not acceptable to walk naked in public in todays society. I think you're making it up as you go along.
The Jews, led by Joshua, carried out the will of the Lord God. 2 billion Christians must admit this because the Bible says so.
The light of conscience to know right from wrong isn't tangible or verifiable. But we know it exists. We draw values from it and lift them into laws and standards. Then we build civilization around it. Is civilization crazy to revolve around the unprovable? America's founding document, the Declaration of Independence, states that it is self evident that there is one God from whom we all spring, and who is the source of our freedom and equality of rights in freedom. Is that crazy? Our religious liberty isn't a matter of whether or not God is real, but what we intend to do individually as Americans with the fact that he is. Is that crazy too? Don't you know that it's impolite to mock God in public. Maybe we should forego a psychological intervention and have instead a lesson in basic manners for you.
But have you ever met the biblical god and had a face to face discussion and why it commanded Joshua to butcher all the Semites in Jericho etc and to steal the land they had occupied for thousands of years? Or was that story about a god commanding them just an excuse to butcher all the women and children and unborn?
And how do we know that our universe isn't just one of trillions of universes within the cosmos, and was formed billions of years ago like stars are still being formed today in our visible galaxies?
The Bible, until the printing press, was manually copied by thousands of hands often translating languages and interpretating previous versions with newer versions often clarifying what was thought to be the meaning of words and ideas. There are several books and even YouTube videos doing comparisons of Bible variations. just as an example research the interpretations of the commandment ‘Though shall not kill’ when justifying the rampant violence of the OT.Even the KJ Bible incorporated changes endorsed by the King. Hell, even in this Forum, there are those telling others their ‘correct’ interpretations. I have always been fascinated by the religious texts reproduced by Irish Monks ofer the centuries where you can see changes to words, even cartoons and jokes drawn in the margins. we are fascinated by the Dead seas scrolls to see their interpretations. Then too, consider the Council of Nicaea determining what was to be included in the Bible.Evolved, yes, The Bible has evolved, changing to be the product of ‘expert’s’ interpretations. There are those still working to reconcile the Bible against science. But this is all guided by the druthers of God, eh, including everything I write.
I met God when I turned to Him in prayer, wanting to receive information about where and in what religion to find Him. And I asked then that He would answer me on the same day - to be sure that it would really be an answer from Him. And He answered me on the same day. He told me three important things that day. First, the Bible is true. Secondly, Jesus Christ really was the Son of God on earth exactly as described in the Gospels. Third, I must pray to God and ask Him in the name of Jesus Christ to send me the Spirit of Truth so that I can understand what is written in the Bible. This happened on Saturday, February 23, 1991. Since then I have been following Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Truth has always opened the Scriptures to me when I had questions. If you have questions for God, then you also have the opportunity to turn to God with a question about Himself. And God always answers when He is asked seriously.
So what colour eyes does your god have, and did you share a meal together like Abraham did with a god when they had a face to face discussion about the number of righteous woman and children in Gomorrah before the god walked down to count them for himself, since he was neither an omniscient or omnipresent god - Genesis 18? And David was even his god's begotten son (Psalm 2:7) even though he was a murderer who said that his love with Jonathon was more wonderful than with any of his wives and concubines (2Sam 1:26)
God answers questions in the way He chooses. I asked in prayer that He would give me an answer by sending a human teacher who would explain to me where and in what religion I should find God. And God answered me on the phone that day. Should I describe to you the appearance of the Christian whom the Spirit of God moved to call me on the phone that day? He looked like an ordinary person.
