Initial weaponry was intended to help defend against what was feared would be an overwhelming onslaught. As the front has stabilized, the weapons mix has evolved.

Ukraine’s Zelenskiy Defiant, Says Even Russians Expect Defeat. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Sunday that Ukraine will not let up in its resistance against Russia’s invasion and that the Ukrainian military will continue to “inflict the highest possible damage on the enemy”. He added that “even the occupiers admit we will win,” citing intercepted “conversations” from the Russian military. Deutsche Welle Reuters

The bottom line is this. Without previous knowledge and relying solely on the mass media, it’s why posts often sound like nonsense. Posters who previously couldn’t even find Ukraine on a map and think Russia is still communist are going to have a hard time with reality, or differentiating propaganda from fact.

I sometimes read Russian mass media and find the same thing happening there.

There is good and bad, there is right and wrong, but military adventures also contain a battle for hearts and minds and those cheering solely for their own side miss the whole picture. Those that can’t write a quick 300 word thread off the top of their heads about something they profess to know about are the ones relying on the media to do it for them and why the content sounds so odd. On many of the posts I can see the propaganda oozing out and not just about Ukraine.

I didn’t challenge, I told you the source. Reported for baiting the poster, as has been suggested.

Except that your claimed source, “Kyiv Post – Ukraine’s Global Voice”, is not the source. I corrected you.

Following official advice, if you attack the poster or continue baiting, I will report your posts, just as you have been reporting mine. If you can’t stick to the topic, go elsewhere and play your silly games.

You can read Russian can you, or were you suggesting something? Let the mods sort it out. It's in the Kyiv Post, plus a few others.

I didn't seek any information. You’ve spent pages avoiding the topic and concentrating on me. My answer was a statement not a question. You've had your fun, from now on I start reporting if you bait or attack the poster. Full stop!

I've noticed that too. I agree that all things being equal, Russia wins this, but stating that isn't considered an opinion from yet another former NCO, but either a Russian troll account or someone in the West sympathetic to Russia. Opinions are no longer supposed to be evidence based, but they are a declaration of your own good intentions.

A pretty sad development for Democracy that we can no longer discuss issues, only agree even more vigorously to support "the current thing."

    Really?

Is that a question mark at the end of your #165?

"You forgot to quote the source. It wouldn’t be the “Kyiv Post – Ukraine’s Global Voice” by any chance? :)"

I think it’s a phenomenon across the west, but I partly blame myself for responding. As a real former NCO and not one on a video game, I don’t profess to know Russia’s battle plans and wouldn’t be qualified to judge them if I did, but if you’re losing every battle you’ve got yourself into against a much stronger opponent, your future doesn’t look rosy.

Having said though, it takes time to get to know who the idiots are and I always give someone the benefit of the doubt. A habit I’ll have to learn to change and ignore them

2 hours ago — Ukraine News: Kyiv Poised for Major Offensive Against Russian Forces. With its sights set on Kherson, a vital port city that fell to Putin's .

". . . Along a jagged frontline, Ukrainian forces are preparing for what is one of the most ambitious and significant military actions of the war: retaking Kherson. The first city to fall to Russian forces, Kherson and the fertile lands that surround it are a key Russian beachhead, from which its military continuously launches attacks across a broad swath of Ukrainian territory. Regaining control could also help restore momentum to Ukraine, and give its troops a much-needed morale boost after months of vicious fighting.

Already, fighting on the western and northern borders of the region is intensifying, as Ukrainian forces — currently about 30 miles from the city at their closest point — lay the groundwork for a large offensive push. For a month, Ukrainian artillery and rocket forces have been softening up Russian positions, using an array of new, Western-supplied weapons like the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, or HIMARS, provided by the United States. . . . Now it has calmed down a bit I’ve got this great idea. Why don’t we discuss the op? Has to be based on reality though, otherwise it just doesn’t sound normal and we head off into fantasy land. :)

And more pain coming for Russian soldiers, MARS-II, Gepard, and PzH 2000 have arrived from Germany, NATO hightech, while Russia has to dig out of storage obsolete Cold War equipment, like T62 and T82U. Russia is loosing.

That's fair enough. Now tell me which battle or city the Russians have lost in Ukraine.

    I think it's about gullibility.

It seems over 90% of the US public believed Russia had made an unprovoked attack on Ukraine; even though liar Joe has an approval rating down around 30%, most of the US public believed the lie.

Every time there's a war the weapons makers feed a lie through the government, and that gets the public on board.

And the public falls for it every time.

Now, wars are complicated things, but unprovoked was not a good description after all the provocation Joe himself has done.

It will be interesting to see how long the public takes to start doubting the garbage Joe spouted.
