But the medical field openly discriminating against LGBT is perfectly fine by y'all, right? That's the model you all is best for the nation, right?

I have owned property and lived in Florida for 20 years

yes, desantos has the platform of florida's governor and has put out the message that he has single handily turned florida around

but what desantos has actually did was turn back florida..he has the platform so his voice is heard above the truth

for 20 years people from all over the country watched Miami vice and CSI miami and other shows that depicted bikinis and fancy cars

many decided to vacation here and loved it so much they decided move here

    but guess what,

most had returned north after 2 years because of money.. florida has famously paid less wages than other places

florida did no better or worse than other states when it comes to covid..

desantos found that being opposite of Fauci was popular..so whatever Fauci said , desantos opposed it

desantos found most floridians are opposed to gay marriage...so he began the crusade claiming teachers were "grooming children"

wrong again..the teachers were trying to protect the children of theses gay marriages from being singled out

nobody was "grooming" they were just teaching acceptance. like it or not, gay marriage is the law of the land

and every classroom in this country will have a student with same sex parents if it is not already the case

desantos got into a fight with Floridas largest employer, and now has costs the state millions...

home insurance rates have skyrocketed since desantos...and rent has nearly doubled

desantos has all but stopped new building construction with his new imigration laws

before this law, immigrants were flocking to the state..now they are afraid to come much less apply for employment

crime has risen since desantos took office and will continue to rise with concealed carry law abolished

starting July 1st, a permit is not needed for anyone to conceal a weapon under any circumstances

soon the airport will not be the only place that has metal detectors..Wall Mart, Target and Costco will also be forced to install them

desantos has enjoyed a super majority and the GOP in florida has played desantos like a fiddle..

they throw him a bone and desantos gives them back a porterhouse

for example, desantos signed into law the abortion ban , in return he is able to stay governor while he campaigns for president.

and for every person that is moving to florida there is a pesron leaving,, or soon will be

I have always been opposed to the national sales tax. It is my fear that we could end up with both a sales and income tax as it is in Europe. Even my father, who was a huge Democrat, commented about how heavy the tax burden was “for the poor people in Europe” when he visited there.

Sales taxes are highly regressive because they take more of the disposable income that the poorer people have. The wealthy have more savings, which would not be taxed until they consumed something. To make it fair, or even livable, for people at the bottom, an extensive welfare state would be necessary for those people to survive.

No, a national sales tax as high as 23% is a very bad idea. Guys like DeSantis may have talked about it at one time, but it’s unfair to pin it to him now.

I differ with DeSantis on the abortion laws and the unpermitted concealed carry law he got passed. I wish that he had left the abortion issue alone. It is a loser issue for the Republicans that has and will cost us elections. You can call yell at me until hell freezes over on that one, but it’s the truth. There are far more important issues where we can win the argument and the elections.

I am still on the fence. I will NOT vote for Trump in the primary. That is carved in stone. Where my vote goes among the others is in the air.

@gringo, Florida’s wages are increasing, and there is no income tax.

You can make $150 grand in California and New York City, and still be poor. The cost of housing in those hell holes is ridiculous. Wages and prices are all relative.

The fact you have condemned all the people in Florida says a lot about you. "It's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way" -- LOL

You can look down all you want. I have the same feelings about people who actively ignore looking into the Clinton and Biden family wrong doing.

There is a $5 million case hanging over Joe Biden right now. The only defense Christopher Wray and the Democrats have is to hide it. If the facts would exonerate him, you would think the Democrats would want to clear the air ASAP. Ditto for Hunter Biden’s income taxes. Why is the IRS dragging its feet on that issue? And the Hunter laptop that’s been sitting for over 4 years.

He is a man-child with a nasty streak and too much bad judgement. He’ll get my vote in the general election, if nominated, because whomever the Democrats nominate will be worse. That is especially true if it’s Biden.

Maybe your voting patterns and ideals just suck. You all voting for that dickhead says a lot more about you.

He's managed to turn Florida completely red, ended Charlie Christ's career, and is someone Donald Trump sees as enough of a threat to keep mentioning him repeatedly.

He won 58% of Latinos in Florida. Can it he do that in the rest of the country?

if my plan was to nominate an 82 year old man to a four year term I'd be nervous too.

Indeed, he's got all the sanctimoniousness of a skinhead. I actually feel bad for those of you with absolutely zero morals or sense of self-awareness who think this cnt is the best man for office.

DeSantis didn’t turn FL red, FL is RED because Retirees from northern state like WI, MI, PA moved to FL in past 20 years and made FL a conservative strong hold. FL became solid RED , but that made PA, MI complete blue state and WI is more blue today then it was even 5 years ago.

If Ron DeSantis is the nominee in 2024, DEMS can just take vacation. Dems don’t have to do anything. Trump the great will attack DeSantis and claim “ DeSantis will be worse then Biden”. You don’t believe me? You should read what Trump thinks about DeSantis vs Cuomo.

If anyone thinks Trump will just retire from politics after someone other then him is GOP nominee, then I have a bridge to sell.

It's a good deal higher than the national average, but in New York City, it's not worth jack.
How it goes? It will be like Richard Nixon when Watergate broke. His commit was "Stonewall it!" That's plan for Biden, Garland and Wray. They have no desire to get to the bottom of the allegations because they are in full cover-up mode.

If Biden took $5 million in influence money while he was vice president, it's bigger than Watergate. That is treason.

Watergate was a presidential effort to cover-up for a group of Republican operatives who broke into the offices of the Democratic National Committee for reasons I can't understand. Nixon had a huge lead over McGovern. The chances of him losing the 1972 election were close to nil. McGovern was a breath takingly weak candidate. He could not manage his own presidential campaign which says a lot. If you can't run a decent presidential campaign the chances of you running the country well are not good.

Go to New York City and find out for yourself. My in-laws paid $2 million for a co-op, and it's smaller than the two bedroom apartment my mother and father in-law had in the a retirement facility in Florida. The married couple plus two kids live there plus a decent sized dog. I would be claustrophobic.

The $2 million is just a start. There are monthly fees that are like normal rent for most people. Add to that a state income tax, a city wage tax that is double what it was when I worked there and federal taxes on top of that.
