I'm surprised considering the scheming creep is a paraplegic and veteran.
That that would give him a lot of sympathy and a pass on being incarcerated.
Good that both these guys pleaded guilty so appeals most likely are off the table.

Trump Loses His Bid To Block Pence Grand Jury Testimony

The DC Circuit Court of Appeals has denied former President Trump’s emergency effort to block his vice president from testifying to the DC grand jury investigating the conspiracy to subvert the 2020 election.

The sealed ruling came down late Wednesday. The earlier district court ruling against Trump also remains under seal. Both rulings remain secret because they are a part of grand jury proceedings.

While we don’t know the precise arguments being made by Trump or Special Counsel Jack Smith – or the reasoning of the trial and appeals courts – it has been widely reported that Trump was invoking executive privilege to shield himself from Pence’s testimony.

I'm sure the winning will start any day now.

    That was quick.

Pence testifies before federal grand jury investigating Trump's role in Jan. 6

WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Mike Pence appeared Thursday before the federal grand jury convened as part of the special counsel investigation into former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss and remain in power, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The testimony is a significant development in the special counsel’s probe, as Pence could provide critical insights into Trump’s thinking in the days leading up to the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. He published a memoir and a Wall Street Journal opinion article detailing several of his interactions with Trump, but some details were left vague. Special counsel Jack Smith’s team is particularly interested in Trump’s efforts to try to block the certification of the election, NBC News has reported.

It wasn't so long ago that Mike was earnestly saying he was going to take his refusal to testify all the way to the SC if necessary. You know..........on constitutional grounds. It was always just posturing.

Think Trump/allies ever paid Ken Block for his services? lol

'A second firm hired by Trump campaign found no evidence of election fraud'

    Source: Washington Post/Josh Dawley

'Former president Trump’s campaign quietly commissioned a second firm to study election fraud claims in the weeks after the 2020 election, and the founder of the firm was recently questioned by the Justice Department about his work disproving the claims.

Ken Block, founder of the firm Simpatico Software Systems, studied more than a dozen voter fraud theories and allegations for Trump’s campaign in late 2020 and found they were “all false,” he said in an interview with The Washington Post.

“No substantive voter fraud was uncovered in my investigations looking for it, nor was I able to confirm any of the outside claims of voter fraud that I was asked to look at,” he said. “Every fraud claim I was asked to investigate was false.”

Block said he recently received a subpoena from special counsel Jack Smith’s office and met with federal prosecutors in Washington
, but he declined to discuss his interactions with them. Block said he contemporaneously sent his findings disputing fraud claims in writing to the Trump campaign in late 2020.'

Trump asks for mistrial in E. Jean Carroll rape defamation trial

Former President Donald Trump on Monday asked for a mistrial in writer E. Jean Carroll’s civil rape and defamation case, accusing the judge of making “pervasive unfair and prejudicial rulings” against him.

The request came after Carroll said Trump “raped me” and “shattered my reputation” over two days of testimony in the trial, which began last week. Carroll is expected to return to the stand in federal court in Manhattan on Monday.

In an 18-page letter, Trump attorney Joe Tacopina argued that Judge Lewis Kaplan mischaracterized evidence in Carroll’s favor, bolstered her testimony and wrongly sustained objections from Carroll’s lawyers that hampered his questioning of the witness.

Trump won’t testify in E. Jean Carroll civil rape defamation trial, his lawyer says

Donald Trump will not testify in the civil trial where writer E. Jean Carroll accuses the former president of rape and defamation, his attorney Joe Tacopina told a federal judge Tuesday, according to NBC News.

Trump’s attendance in the trial, which began last week, was previously an open question. Tacopina had told Judge Lewis Kaplan that Trump would decide on his plans “during the court of the trial.”

As Trump’s lawyers defended him in federal court in Manhattan, the ex-president himself had traveled to Scotland, where he broke ground on a new golf course on Monday.

Cuz it's never a good idea for a pathological liar to testify under oath.

Fulton County D.A. says charging decisions in Trump investigation to come this summer

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said she will announce this summer whether former President Donald Trump and others would be charged in the investigation into efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

In a letter Monday to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Willis asked law enforcement to increase security in the coming months, adding that any charges would be announced between July 11 and Sept. 1.

"I am providing this letter to bring to your attention the need for heightened security and preparedness in coming months due to this pending announcement," Willis said.

She said open-source intelligence has indicated that an announcement on any potential charges in the case "may provoke a significant public reaction."

Four Proud Boys Convicted of Sedition in Key Jan. 6 Case

Four members of the Proud Boys, including their former leader Enrique Tarrio, were convicted on Thursday of seditious conspiracy for plotting to keep President Donald J. Trump in power after his election defeat by leading a violent mob in attacking the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The fifth defendant in the case, Dominic Pezzola, was found not guilty on the sedition charges, although he was convicted of other serious felonies.

The verdicts, coming after seven days of deliberations in Federal District Court in Washington, were a major blow against one of the country’s most notorious far-right groups and another milestone in the Justice Department’s vast investigation of the Capitol attack.

The trial was the last of three sedition cases that federal prosecutors had brought against key figures in the Capitol attack.

Trump deposition in E. Jean Carroll rape defamation case released in court

The transcript of the deposition of former President Donald Trump by a lawyer for E. Jean Carroll, the writer who accuses him in a civil lawsuit of raping and defaming her, was released in a court filing Friday.

The deposition, taken in October at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Florida, was filed a day after Carroll’s lawyers rested their case at the trial for the suit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. Trump’s lawyers presented no witnesses of their own.

Portions of the transcript have previously been released in separate court filings.

And jurors on Thursday were shown portions of a video of that deposition.

At least 8 of Georgia’s 'fake electors' have received immunity deals in 2020 election probe

ATLANTA — At least eight of Georgia’s "fake electors" have been granted immunity in the Fulton County district attorney's investigation into former President Donald Trump and his allies regarding alleged interference in the 2020 election, according to a new court filing.

More than a dozen individuals signed a certificate falsely declaring that Trump had won Georgia in the 2020 election and declared themselves Georgia's “duly elected and qualified” electors. Georgia has 16 electors in the Electoral College.

The eight unnamed individuals agreed to interviews with prosecutors, seven of which were completed between April 11 and April 14, according to the filing.

Special counsel probing Trump Organization’s handling of Mar-a-Lago surveillance footage

Prosecutors for special counsel Jack Smith have been asking questions in recent weeks about the handling of surveillance footage from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort after the Trump Organization received a subpoena last summer for the footage, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation.

The handling of the footage, and how employees within the Trump Organization responded to the Justice Department’s demand for it, have prompted a new round of grand jury subpoenas to top Trump employees in the last few weeks, the sources told CNN.

Longtime Trump Organization executives Matthew Calamari Sr. and his son Matthew Calamari Jr. are expected to appear Thursday before the grand jury investigating possible mishandling of classified documents brought to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, sources said. Prosecutors are expected to ask them about the handling of the surveillance footage and Trump employees’ conversations following the subpoena, according to the sources.

'DOJ finds 'insider witness' in Trump Mar-a-Lago documents probe: report'
Original reporting: Justice Dept. Intensifying Efforts to Determine if Trump Hid Documents (New York Times)

    The Hill

BY JULIA MUELLER - 05/04/23 8:25 PM ET

"The Justice Department has found an “insider witness” as investigators probe former President Trump’s handling of classified documents, according to a new report.

The New York Times, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that the unidentified person now cooperating confidentially with the investigation has worked for Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

According to the report, the scope of the insider witness’s cooperation is not yet clear, nor is the timeline, but the witness reportedly gave investigators a picture of the storage room where some materials were held.

The investigation, led by Special Counsel Jack Smith, has shown signs of intensifying. The new insider witness, the Times reports, appears as part of a broader effort to figure out whether Trump personally ordered boxes of the sensitive material to be moved out of the storage room.

The verdict has been decided in the Carroll case. Trump guilty of sexual abuse.

Will this affect The Following's devotion to him? No. Cuz they believe him........not the 26 women who accused him of abuse.

Trump is found liable in civil rape trial.

A Manhattan jury on Tuesday has found former President Donald J. Trump liable for the sexual abuse of the magazine writer E. Jean Carroll in a widely watched civil trial that sought to apply the accountability of the #MeToo era to a dominant political figure.

    https://www.nytimes.com/live/2023/05/09/nyregion/trump-carroll-rape-trial-verdict

The federal jury of six men and three women also held Mr. Trump, 76, liable for defaming Ms. Carroll when he posted a statement on his Truth Social website in October, calling her case “a complete con job” and “a Hoax and a lie.”

Maligned Election Workers Accuse Jenna Ellis Of Dodging Subpoena In Newest Act Of Giuliani Circus

Yakety Sax might as well be playing behind the newest filings in the court case where former Georgia election workers are suing Rudy Giuliani.

Lawyers for Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss are trying to prove that Giuliani defamed them, inflicted emotional distress upon them and engaged in criminal conspiracy when he falsely accused the two of playing a key role in a fabricated conspiracy to steal Georgia’s election results from Donald Trump. Freeman and Moss testified publicly to the deluge of threats they received after being plucked out of obscurity to become villains in the MAGA universe; their testimony became one of the most emotional moments of the Jan. 6 committee hearings.

But the Trump-orbit figures at the center of the lawsuit are making things difficult, lawyers for the two say.

Freeman and Moss’ lawyers complain in a new filing that former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis has been dodging their attempts to serve her with a subpoena for months.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/giuliani-ellis-subpoena

    Ellis should be disbarred.

I haven't read it yet and cringe at the thought that it may be a detailed description of Close Encounters With Rudy.

'Lawsuit claims Rudy Giuliani 'took Viagra constantly' and was recorded demanding sex from employee'

'In a complaint filed in New York state court on Monday, attorneys for Noelle Dunphy allege Giuliani offered her employment for a salary of $1 million a year in 2019. At the time, Giuliani was serving as an attorney for then-President Donald Trump. Several of Giuliani's businesses are also named as defendants in the suit.

The lawsuit says Giuliani told Dunphy that her employment must remain secret because he was going through an acrimonious divorce.

"Unfortunately, Giuliani's seemingly generous offers were a sham motivated by his secret desire to pursue a sexual relationship with Ms. Dunphy—in total disregard for the restraints that should have protected her as his employee and client," attorneys for Dunphy state. "He made clear that satisfying his sexual demands—which came virtually anytime, anywhere—was an absolute requirement of her employment and of his legal representation."

Giuliani allegedly drank alcohol and "took Viagra constantly," the document states.

The lawsuit claims that some of Giuliani's demands for sex were captured on recordings. Other allegations involved Giuliani conspiring with Trump to sell pardons for $2 million each.'

Trump supposedly selling pardons for 2 million was being reported right before he left office in Jan.2021.

'Rudy Giuliani said he and Trump were selling pardons for $2m apiece, ex-aide claims'

'A former aide to former Trump attorney Rudolph Giuliani says he told her the ex-New York City mayor and then-president Donald Trump were offering to sell presidential pardons for $2 million apiece, according to court documents.

    snip

'She then states that Mr Giuliani asked her “if she knew anyone in need of a pardon” because he was “selling pardons for $2 million, which he and President Trump would split”.

“He told Ms Dunphy that she could refer individuals seeking pardons to him, so long as they did not go through “the normal channels” of the Office of the Pardon Attorney, because correspondence going to that office would be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act,” the suit added.

During Mr Trump’s presidency, he frequently granted pardons to wealthy or well-connected individuals without the involvement of the Pardon Attorney, the Department of Justice official who is charged with reviewing petitions for executive clemency and making recommendations as to whether a given petition should be granted
No evidence has ever emerged that Mr Trump or Mr Giuliani were ever compensated for any presidential pardon granted during Mr Trump’s time in office, but Ms Dunphy’s allegation matches that made by another person who once sought a pardon from the then-president.'

Noelle audio taped a lot so does she have any evidence of Rudy quoting the 2 million or better yet Rudy talking or corresponding with Trump about selling pardons?
Otherwise her claim will be DOA.

    Jan.17,2021

WASHINGTON — As President Trump prepares to leave office in days, a lucrative market for pardons is coming to a head, with some of his allies collecting fees from wealthy felons or their associates to push the White House for clemency, according to documents and interviews with more than three dozen lobbyists and lawyers.

    SNIP

Mr. Kiriakou said he also broached his quest for a pardon during a meeting last year with Mr. Giuliani and his associates on another subject at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, which involved substantial alcohol.

When Mr. Giuliani went to the bathroom at one point, one of his confidants turned to Mr. Kiriakou and suggested Mr. Giuliani could help. But “it’s going to cost $2 million — he’s going to want two million bucks,” Mr. Kiriakou recalled the associate saying.

“I laughed. Two million bucks — are you out of your mind?” Mr. Kiriakou said. “Even if I had two million bucks, I wouldn’t spend it to recover a $700,000 pension.”

Not that it's beyond the realm of possibility, but I'd have to see some reporting from what I consider a credible source before I'd take it seriously.

Durham Report Marks End Of ‘Investigate the Investigators’ Gambit

As the Mueller investigation ground on through 2017, allies of President Trump set upon a strategy to counter it: They would investigate those investigating the probe, allowing them to sling unfounded allegations of corruption at prosecutors examining the then-President’s dealings.

After the Mueller investigation concluded, Attorney General Bill Barr appointed Durham to continue the strategy with the force of law behind him.

Durham set about investigating the investigators (and the investigation itself) in an effort to lend credibility to the idea that the Trump-Russia investigation was the product of a political witch hunt against the former President.

Trump’s a ‘laughing fool’ to world leaders, Bolton says

Former President Donald Trump has long touted what he says are strong relationships with high profile leaders on the world stage, but they actually think he’s a ‘laughing fool, according to John Bolton, Trump’s former national security adviser.

During the CNN town hall last week, Trump said he could end Russia’s war in Ukraine in one day if he wins reelection to the White House. The war never would have happened, Trump said, if he won a second term in 2020. That’s hard to believe on both counts, Bolton said.

I read a little more about the allegations yesterday. They seem plausible, especially the sexual abuse allegations. But the evidence of the pardon scheme sounds thin. They are going to rely on Les Parnas to corroborate it. Not a great place to be in.
