I don't think anyone is arguing the Trump was a perfect President, and maybe he should have been quicker and firmer in calling for an end to the protests. But, treason? sedition? Hell no, not even close.

According to today's testimony, the bolded bit isn't true. Eastman admitted to Greg Jacob before Jan 6th that he expected Trump would lose 7-2 if the case went to the Supreme Court. When pressed, he admitted it would likely be 9-0. And on the morning of Jan 6th Giuliani admitted to Eric Herschmann that Herschmann was probably right that there was no legal basis for the plan to reject electors.

Did Eastman say that himself in any video? What questions did they ask Eastman on cross-examination?

No, it was Jacob's testimony; the Giuliani story was Herschmann's testimony. Eastman was asked 100 questions in his deposition and he pleaded the 5th for all.

The hearings have made an irrefutable case, backed with tons of sworn testimony by Trump's people. Not that there was ever any doubt.

When a judge, in a conspiracy case, instructs a jury, he'll say something like use your common sense. Conspiracies aren't contracts, you never nail down every detail. But there's enough there for a bunch of convictions.

There have been hundreds of times the 5th has been used to hide guilt, in the testimony.

None so blind, and all that.

So they don't have any Eastman testimony and no cross-examination of Jacob's testimony... and no record or corroboration of the conversation?

The 5th is not an admission of guilt.. and this is not a court room… the furthest thing from it.

There is no judge.. this is not a court… courts have people who cross-examine the witnesses testifying
This is only a court of public opinion and a show put on by an illegal and illegitimate Pelosi hand picked panel.

No; that's why I said "According to today's testimony". I don't take as gospel things which have no documentary backup.

Of course, the intent is to inform, and it is doing an excellent job.

I was pointing out how you think about a conspiracy case the way the law does...

Sworn testimony is admissible in a court (and it will be) AND there is thousands and thousands of documents to back it up. You will now point out that it is incomplete, but as I already pointed out, it doesn't have to be.

Frankly, the only way to miss the conspiracy is to pretend, to fake it to preserve an agenda..

Not that simple, and there are thousands of documents, but you know all that.

I thought they were credible witnesses and I instinctively believed them, but It's not controversial to point out that there is no documentary corroboration of their precise claims (unless you have some? I haven't seen any). People on both sides here very often overreach in their claims beyond what the evidence can support. I think it's much better to be precise - then there's more chance of having a real discussion.

The intent is to funnel any bit of doubt into the public eye to bypass any executive or judicial opposition. This is an illegitimate and illegal committee only giving one side as none of the witnesses are not being cross-examined to check their account.. This committee is looking to play court room in the court of public opinion.. they will willingly and purposely leave out any and all exculpatory evidence or events, such as the lack security that allowed the people into the Capitol and they will go no where near the FBI’s involvement in January 6 or the fact the FBI has already investigated and announced the was no corroboration.

Yea… there were thousands of documents on Russiagate… I wonder if Congress will form a committee after November and the Repubs win?

Anything to deflect attention from us focusing on Trump sitting on his lard butt in front of a tv watching the attack on the Capitol without doing a damn thing to stop it for more than three hours.

Yesterday showed that Trump was told clearly he was proposing to Pence that he violate the law. He seemed to have forgotten there's dirt some people won't eat.

Yesterday showed you what the Democrats want to show you and nothing more. My post directly addressed that. You have yet to point out what Trump could have and should have done that he any legal authority to do. Nor has this committee. Why is that and why do you keep diverting from who was actually responsible for the Capital not being secured properly?

Ol' Bone Spurs deserted his post when the Capitol was under attack.

Oh, darn—Jim Jordan didn't get his pervert coverup butt a chance to turn the hearing process into a zoo with his lies and whining.

He could have ordered the DC National Guard to the Capitol and told the DC mayor to send the Metro Police to the Capitol. He could have ordered our armed forces to the Capitol, although this might have caused some consternation.
Why do you continue making excuses for Trump deserting his post?
