Wow I cannot applaud a post more. If Republicans took this to heart, they could be a national threat to us by 2024. But fortunately they won't.

I do think you underestimate Biden. He is not the President because he was Obama's VP. He was within a week of being totally run out of the primary before the Carolinas by a string of younger, more energetic political figures. What those voters saw was that Biden was quite literally the 'Anti-Trump Candidate'. He was our comfort food, someone who was very established/ not anti establishment. He was someone we all knew as a politician /not risky or inexperienced. He was seen as humble and decent/ not full of ego or nasty or scandal ridden. More than anything else Uncle Joe was someone who did not demand our constant attention or personal loyalty, and might just allow us all a rest from negative politics, and forget about all the melodrama of Washington. He was our care-taker-- in chief. And he ran a virtually impeccible highly disciplined campaign.

    I'm having a great day.
He sure doesn't 8), but he gave it a hell of a try when he did.
Those weren't Democrats at the Capitol January 6th 2021.
Thankfully AmeriCANs proved, yesterday, they have a hell of a lot more common sense than anyone was giving U.S. credit for; IMHO, it was all about the rejection of maga politics.

Agreed, time to move on from Trump, compromise on abortion and regain the middle ground.

well as usual you are wrong. four different media outlets' commentators said it was the abortion issue-one woman noted that every "sexually active unmarried woman from 18-40 probably voted for Fetterman"

Total votes given the insanity that is Ca. Are meaningless. 70% of Ca would eat **** and die if their Democratic master told them to.

Look folks, another TRUMP thread. TRUMP is mentioned 6 times in the OP. SIX!
I think this guy made this thread just to shove Trump in our faces but in an effort to ignore that trolling, I shall agree with reason #1
I knew R V W was gonna be bad and I've said it many times.
What did you Republican Religious fanatics accomplish with that? Making someone drive further for an abortion?
It doesn't save the life of ONE SINGLE BABY.

I'm not talking about Fetterman's election. I'm talking about ALL the results. Most people are slowly starting to get sick of the TYPE of language that you used to insult a stroke victim. Those brainless attacks on people because of some health issue used to draw endless cheers from crowds, and dozens of "likes" from Republicans in this forum. Now they are starting to understand that it only works for the most extremist in the MAGA-crowd. But it won't get more of them elected.

Trump, from my perspective, is a non event. The party did move on from him. As evidenced from last night. Not sure what "compromise on abortion" means, but in my estimation, the "reasonable" conversation to be had is, plan b. After heartbeat, life of the mother. We can quibble over other details, but if we can't agree on this, what's the point?

    Excellent

He tried to stay in power. He did not attack democracy. He questioned election results which is part of the democratic system.

True. But Jan 6 was not about democracy. It was about election results. Those sentiments continue to this day.

We will just disagree there. What is maga politics? What does that mean?

Very true. Perhaps we should consider limiting voting to people who have passed a training program for voters. There was a time when only land owners were allowed to vote. Opening it to everyone may not be the best way.

If that were true, the Republicans would have gotten blown away this time around.

I think we should just have civics become one of the core subjects in public schools every year from K-12. It's as important as reading and math, it should be treated that way.

Trump may not have been running, but he was certainly a main topic in these elections. How did you miss that?

People are talking about 'the trump effect' as opposed to the man himself.

Benedict dOnald did a hell of a lot more than that. hE attempted to use the full power and authority of the President of the United States to subvert and overturn the election he lost.

It was about the attempted insurrection of These United States.

If you don't know what it means how can you disagree? Maga politics are the politics of cheating, lying, hate and division created by tRaitor tRump; but you knew what I meant.

More Democrat seats were up for reelection in the house. Essentially Republicans DID get blown away, compared to their expectations, anticipation and bragging.

How did I miss that? I suppose because my research goes towards people running NOW. Not people that were president 2 years ago.

But the left labeling anyone who doesn't vote for them MAGAs
    or
The left labeling anyone who challenges elections (which is free speech by the way) as election Deniers
    or
The left Labeling Larry Elder as the black face of white supremacy
    or
The left Labeling Clarence Thomas as an uncle tom
    or
The left labeling voters who vote conservative white supremacist

The extreme lefts uneducated hypocrisy always shines through

Forgive me, but i'm a little surprised. Trump was all over the Republican airwaves and publications throughout the campaigns.

I'm not surprised at all. You are stereotyping me as someone who gets all their political information from Trump rallies. I don't watch them and I don't care what candidates he backs. Thanks for assuming things about me though. Maybe I care about the POLICIES of these people. you know, thats kinda the point of politics last I checked

At what point does an election denier get discounted for their beliefs? How many lost lawsuits would it take for them to be considered crazy for hanging on to their beliefs?

As for us labeling conservative voters as white supremacists, I think you should read more of our posts saying that the conservative party was respectable before the extremism infected it.

The Democrats lost 6 seats in the House and the Republicans picked up 3. Explain how the Republicans got "blown away"?
