The red wave didn't turn out how the Republicans had hoped.. here's my take why

Well, bravo for you being able to ignore Trump's influence on these elections. For the rest of us, he was a main figure presented by the right and left media.

 

I can't even begin to tell you how happy it makes me to learn that now Trump supporters consider MAGA an insult.

And it was about time, too.

It was more than just the Dobbs decision. It was the fact at the state level that a lot of GOP states went full monty on the topic with laws where no one exception was allowed in any abortion or just the life of the mother in a select two. It was so bad that the GOP in South Carolina had to not bring up the vote for that bill to begin with.

 

Yes, between 3 to 5 seats, a slim majority, which will make the Freedom Caucus even more powerful within the GOP caucuses. It was not the 30 to 60 seat majority they were hoping for, predicting for, and even gloating about not too long ago.

 

It's like Biden, the electorate name-caller, saying he ran to change the soul of the nation.

 

So what? The Democrats have a slim chance of keeping the house. A win is a win, and almost crossing the goal line doesn't count.

 

Why is mail-in balloting and early voting not on the list? The former has a positive correlation with fraud and the latter has a positive correlation with people voting ignorantly before debates. I feel like you are trying to make an argument with a pre-2020 electoral framework, which is disingenuous.

 

I predicted originally the GOP will win the house by 5 to 10 seats despite the usual suspects who said otherwise. But given the fact we have an unpopular president, a mixed economy with high inflation, and several important social issues to decide, among other things, the GOP is lucky to have the seats they won, to begin with. This was a very unusual midterm election cycle. By all accounts, the GOP should have won big, but they didn't. That tells you more about the state of the GOP than that of the Democratic Party or the country as a whole. In essence, extremism was lost in the general election today, quite handily I might add.

So, McCarthy may need to retune his plan for the GOP house and not have those bold plans he has been harping on.

The polls were inaccurate. That is the reason the GOP was predicted to have a red wave. For no other reason than the Democrat voter was underrepresented.
Btw, a win is a win, even if the other team wins by one in overtime.

Voters who voted Democrat ignored the facts. Inflation is eating all of us alive, and the people voted for more of it yesterday. We need to stop spending trillions of dollars at a clip. When Joe Biden says that he's going to cut energy production, you need to take him at his word. You can talk all you want about how great renewable energy sources are. The fact is they are more expensive, and we are not in the position for them to shoulder the majority of the load.

 

Come on now! You can't have missed the fact that Trump was very present in these elections, although he was not a candidate himself.

 

This is what happens when you hyper politicize the SCOTUS. You people basically stole 1-2 seats and cheered destroying public trust in that branch of government.

It’s hilarious that you won the battle but that battle will likely cost you the overall war. And it is war.

I know many people that have gone from political apathy to absolutely hating anyone that even identifies as a Republican.

 

Or they can just comprehend that inflation isn’t wholly the fault of Biden and the Democrats.

Look at global issues and what was going on immediately proceeding Biden’s inauguration. It looks like the rest of the nation isn’t completely blind to that no matter how hard some of the right squint their eyes.

Its a classic, and no, he was not kidding.

 

That's politics these days. Alot of assumptions were based on the idea that people were going to take their frustrations to the polls. But they didn't, they gave the leadership a pass.
