Omicron is either MASSIVELY more contagious than Flu, MASSIVELY more deadly than Flu, or a combo of both.

Omicron killed almost 90,000 people in one month. That's what Flu usually does in a year.

 

You havn't addressed squat .. you made a claim 2500/day "Omicron" ..yet to support this claim or give it any context .. such as .. in this last wave .. case numbers were 10 x higher .. and so we would expect 10 x the number of cases as the other waves ... but that didn't happen now did it... cruised along at the normal rate .. most which was attributed to Delta --and they don't report"Omicron" deaths - distingish from delta like they did for delta-alpha and previous.

Now .. shall we go to a country that has some descent data -- have a look .. since you can't come up with squat.

No its not.. Get a grip -- you are quoting the US covid death figure which is not the Omicron figure.

So 90,000 Covid deaths for the year so far .. what would you like to say about it .. is that good .. bad .. average .. for a wave that infects 30% of the population in a 3-4 weeks.

Perhaps .. perhaps not .. you are just making things up hoping it might be true... What does this have to do with the fact that the majority of deaths in your 90,000 figure were Delta .. the vast majority as far s we know .. as that was the case prior to them stopping reporting figures detailing how many were Delta vs other varients.

 

I'm 64....1/4 Liver function, stage 3 kidney failure (for years) and I had the original Covid-19 in Dec 2019, Omicron 2 months ago and I'm still here and unvaxed. Our bodies are equipped to handle naturally occurring viruses, they weaken and are soon relegated to just another yearly flu. Now if you're willing to concede that it was a Chinese biological weapon that either accidentally or on purpose got loose. That's a different story, our response would be different toward the country of origin but the same for the so called vaccine (that doesn't prevent the spread). Of course it isn't worth fighting WW3 for, but moving every stitch of our manufacturing out while cutting all imports would be more than appropriate. If politicians are making a fortune off of that trade, they'd likely be doing what they're doing right now, NOTHING fancy that.

 

If they are that afraid of the virus, they can always quarantine at home. Let the rest of us live our lives please.

 

I got the original Covid-19 when it swept through California in Dec. 2019 like the plague. Never got Delta but I did get Omicron which was no worse than a common head cold. How weird?

 

My mom had Omicron, definitely worse than a cold.

 

My favorite thing about DND is a crit failure. Know what that is? It means a roll is so bad it fails completely. Favorite part is then rolling a severity, to see how bad a person failed. You know the number of times it landed on a 1, the worst possible number to get? Lots. What you’re doing is relying on a bad argument. Just because it hasn’t gotten to you, means it’s not a problem. I’m not going to entertain your racism. It’s a problem even if you aren’t dead yet. Because we know stats. We know that just because not everyone is going to die, doesn’t mean the issue isn’t serious. Cigarettes don’t give everyone cancer but we do know long term smokers are more likely to have cancer. Same basic problem here.

The first version was really nasty - mostly targeted Old - the times it did effect a others though ..could do wierd things .. go in to brain - heart . and targeted lower respiratory -- unlike a normal Flue ... had a very high rate of death in the old folks that did get it .. but was not so contageous... .. that said .. early studies showed that 85-90% of folks who got this varient were asymptomatic .. so .. you either didn't react .. but if you did had a good chance of being nasty .. specially if one was Old. Didn't touch the younger demographic ..

Didn't get the earlier stuff - that I know of . was all around us .. we should have gotten it.. having someone with symptoms at kitchen table for 3 hours .. yapping and so on .. testing positive a day later. I ended up getting Omicron day after new year.. along with a number of other "unvaxed" .. given to us by a double vaxed super spreader .. we all had mild symptoms .. (had way worse flue's than this) double vaxed dude was not to bad but has the worst of it..

Now so wierd though that Omicron is what it is.. in fact its what we expect. as this thing mutated the wierd stuff - decreased .. but still hit the deep respiratory .. also was able to infect younger demographics over time .. a little bit more .. not too much though .. super low risk of harm.to a healthy kid. More middle age were included into the numbers .. slightly .. and mostly those who had issues .. comorb-immune compromized/pneumonia.

Omicron does not target deep respiratory .. ICU admissions .. despite a TEN TIMES (X10) higher peak case count - remained flat .. which is ridiculous .. this thing is ridiculously mild .. Case rates that high for a normal flue would have way higher ICU admissions ..

So .. as the virus is won't to do - in effort to be compatible with - and not kill the Host .. over time .. has become more contageous .. but less pathogenic.

While the Biden's - Fauci's - and Trudeau's of the world will try to keep this dead horse alive as long as possible .. its done .. Mark my words .. this wave has peaked .. damn near infected everyone .. Flue season is over. Interesting to note that the previous viral pandemics lasted around 2 years .. .. so the natural cycle is being maintained in this way as well.

 

The numbers below I find more troubling.

If it really did come from a "wet market". Higher death tolls are to be expected at ground zero. If the Chinese were grossly under reporting Covid deaths and infections....why? If the Worldmeter figures are even close to accurate, it makes it look like they were prepared with a ready made vaccine. I don't know why they would under as opposed to over reporting. Hopefully the rest of the world is cheesed off enough to stop buying products that come from China and move our manufacturing to a country that won't try to kill us all. India and a number of African countries come to mind. Freezing them out of the world market would be appropriate.
