I keep hearing trumpists trying to focus on whataboutism and not the fact that this was a insurrection organized and perpetrated by trump and his supporters he so loves.

There is a STARK contrast between the force and treament for BLM in DC and the preparations for Save America. That's a fact you can't whatabout or ignore. Its a lame false equivalency that what The PRESIDENT said and did on Jan6th to egg on his mob to fight to save america from the clutches of a legally elected Democrat by storming the capitol and acongressperson supporting peaceful protest of racial injustice. All of that hate and anger generated over bullshit conspiracy theories and outright lies.

As for identity politics, that is EXACTLY what The Storm and Save America and MAGA is all about. The evil evil leftst BLM Antifa monsters coming to eat up all that southern cooking and destroy all those statues of racist traitors.

We know what DID happen when BLM came to DC. No speculation required.

Do you remember what happened? There were people in various sorts of uniforms everywhere. Some of those in uniform lacked identification - just like the guys in Portland who dragged people into unmarked cars and detained them without charge. Remember that? Rememebr the response of Trump supporters here? They cheered the 'little green men' snatching people off the street. Funny how Trump supporters bringing up Portland never mention that.

Anyway, back to the DC protest. Do you remember the tear gas? The crowd wasn't rioting. They were just in the way when Trump wanted a photo op with Gen. Milley tagging along. Again, Trump supporters cheered.

So, BLM protesters surrounded by men in uniform & tear gassed so Trump can get a picture in front of a church, Trump supporters allowed to smash into the Capitol building & murder a policeman. No need to imagine the difference, we cah just observe it.

I keep wondering if I will see any Trump supporter just admit that this was wrong without then launching into an attack on BLM, Democrats, ANTIFA, media they don't like etc. I'm yet t osee on on this forum.

 

I am experimenting with pointing out to obvious to them occasionally to see effect.

He has definitely lost most if not all of the center right, leaving only the racist/fascist/nationalists and other true cultists.

 

I must confess that I been having repeated attacks of shivering shadenfreude as retribution is finally upon him and his.

 

I don't think the Trump family will ever live in poverty. All they have to do is ask their followers to donate to their gofundme page to fight liberalism. Their followers are just so easily gullible.

 

I also look forward to seeing him face the consequences for his crimes and dereliction of duty after January 20.
I was happy to just let him fade away after he left office, but his behavior since the election means that we now have to come down hard on him and his insurrection attempt if we want to preserve our democratic standards.
His actions had consequences and people died as a direct result.

Didn't look like a bunch of insurrectionists to me. Looked like a few who took advantage of light police presence that led to a bunch of people there to protest to get caught up in entering the building.
