As for 'held back' how do you account for the fact that 1700 modern Russian BMT's have been visually confirmed and geo-located as having been destroyed, captured and or abandoned by Russia. And Russia only had aprox 3300 or so MBT's in service when the war began! Add in 10 to 20% as damaged/abandoned on the Russian side of the lines? And about 2000 Russian MBT's have been knocked out of service! As for the T-64s that have been destroyed? They have been crewed and deployed by existing Russian Army military units not militia. Explain that away.

 

Wagner Group releases graphic video of corpses in desperate plea for more ammunition

The Wagner Group released a video of a stack of corpses on Friday to make a point about the shortage of ammunition it was facing, as its leader said he would risk arrest to get his fighters more shells and bullets.

The graphic clip, posted by a Telegram account linked to the Russian mercenary group, showed hundreds of dead bodies – allegedly of Wagner fighters – to show the human cost of the ammunition shortage.

“We’re losing our fighters every day: it would be half as much if the military officials were to supply us with weapons and ammunition on time,” an unidentified man in a hazmat suit said in the video.

Believe what you will. In these days of competing propaganda, everything is contested. Your link doesn't show a video. It only discusses an alleged video about alleged Wagner dead.

The link at the end of this post does have a video of many dead bodies. They're not stacked and there's no hazmat suits, but yeah, lots of dead bodies. They're likely casualties of the recent Russian (Wagner) victory at Soledar.

Wagner sources shared another video showing more than a hundred killed servicemen of the armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the coffins, which will be transferred to Ukraine as part of the agreements.

The dead Ukrainian servicemen were likely deployed in the Bakhmut-Soledar region, where the Wagner units are operating on the Russian side.

Earlier, another video showing the loading of coffins on trucks was shared by Russian fighters. LINK

In January, the Wagner military commanders claimed that the transfer of bodies took place in coordination with the Ukrainian side. In total, up to 4-5 batches were planned. Then, about 500 bodies were likely transferred.

The newly shared video likely confirms that the agreement on transfer of dead Ukrainian servicemen is still in action and the bodies are sent on a regular basis.

Head of the Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin had earlier declared the need for decent sending of bodies to their relatives.

This is great news. Not only will it have a soothing impact on European inflation rates it's also another kick in the balls for Putin and Russia's war time economy, doubly so because the bulk of Russia's natural gas infrastructure is orientated towards Europe and with that market collapsing it will be years before an equivalent volume of gas can be delivered to other markets.

 

....and when Russia can deliver it be in a buyer's market. Nothing says 'bargain time' like a motivated seller. Xi & Modi might make noises about historic friendships, alliances etc., but neither run charities. Same with all the other buyers. They will sense an opportunity to lock in long term contracts at knock down prices. Russia will still get its money, but not as much.

 

Nope, especially since Russia gas exporters will almost certainly have to borrow the money needed to fund construction of what will amount a very expensive capital investment. And guess what those bankers will want in return - ever cheaper gas.

 

So is Russia still mopping up on aisle 4?
