Quite a success then. They are still there and will be long after the US is gone and forgotten.

Objectives can change over time. I agree that the original mission was basically thrown aside once it became clear that WMD's weren't present there anymore.

Whether or not Iraq had WMD's right before the war is up for debate, since we literally sold some of them to Iraq.

Regardless, eliminating the insurgents and setting up a stable representative government became the new objectives. We did succeed in those goals.

Granted, I'm not saying it was worth invading Iraq.

So what if our attention was focused on the preserving primary wealth of Iraq? Would you have ignored Iraq's only source of international trade and capital?

I felt that we didn't do enough to help the Iraq produce their oil. We should have opened the country to all US bidders for the right to drill and produce the oil for the Iraq people. A little oil doom would have turned the average Iraqi away from terrorism and focused them on the future.

As far as Afghanistan; we have killed a lot of the Talibandiotes and they are in hell being used as virgins by demons, not in paradise. We will kill a lot more of them too. The whole of the ME has erupted since Obama/barry went on his apology tour. We may have to occupy Mecca to get those dogs under control in the coming years.

Your haltered for the USA needs treatment. Most Americans like and respect Canada for what they have done right. We don't look for reasons to hate Canada. I had a very good friend from Canada who was in the USAF so that he could become an American citizen. He was one of the first people in the military learning about computers. Great guy.

Don't think that we hate Canada, as you would like, because you hate the US. We know that you are far from the average Canadian.

Removal of Saddam Hussein and transition to democracy in Iraq was the goal of the US, stated in the 1998 Iraq Liberation Act.

My mother was Canadian. My relatives on the maternal side reside along the great swath of Canada from Vancouver to Halifax. I know Canada. :)

The subordination of the Canadian military to the American military is a well established fact. It is in the natural order of things.

Within a few posts you went from praising the professionalism of British military forces to not only acknowledging their weakness but justifying it.

"Victory? Who would want that anyway?"

    Like I said, comedy gold!

Absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

We are not retarded and therefore we refuse to allow our defence industry to govern our nation and to steal trillions from our people. We prefer freedom.

    You on the other hand....

Don't hold your breath. Taking tuition from you would only be a backward step for me.

Backward steps are something to which you should grow accustomed.
