well that's weird. in all those heathen, majority atheist countries, people keep working and having careers and such. they also produce some very fine scientists. how do you explain that, WR?

 

Nothing weird because all the once heathen countries or kingdoms would soon become advance modern nations the Viking, the Visigoths, the Gauls, the Brits that were once heathen and scourge of Europe after embracing Christianity would become one of the most modern and advance nations of the world. Great scientist will emerge from those great Christian countries and continue to do so up to this day they will be responsible in making great discoveries and advancement in science and medicine and one of the motivation is their desire to gain knowledge and knowing how God created the universe and life.

I must say, that is a most fascinating interpretation of the history in the Bible.

What I would like to know is at which point the Bible goes from telling things in such a metaphorical way and moves on describing actual people and not just metaphors for larger groups? For instance, is the whole story of Noah building a boat a fable to teach some lesson, or did he actually exist as described directly in the Bible?

If it is the latter, isn't the Bible then flittering back and forth between different timescales, and how can you reliably tell which scale it is using?

Also, are all those stories about the other individual people doing things during that stretch of time lies?
