2. There is no such thing as "Islamaphobia". A "phobia" is a mental disorder of an irrational fear based on nothing. But fear of jihad (violent or non-violent) is perfectly rational, as established by 20,000 violent, Muslim, jihadist attacks since 9/11, and thousands of instances of Islamization in schools, universities, workplaces, various branches of the government, airports, private homes, and the public streets.

Furthermore, as a person who suffers from one of the real mental disorders in the phobia line (agoraphobia), I highly resent people using the term "phobia" falsely, for their own co-opting phony purposes.

 

There is such a thing as Islamaphobia and you have it. Why didn't you check to see if this claim about Angola banning Islam was true?

The government of Angola has stated emphatically that they haven't banned Islam.

Your data does not prove that our foreign policy is the main reason why Muslims hate the US and Israel, nor does it account for why Muslims are aggressively engaging with other countries and areas around the world, or the long history of Muslim aggression against non-Muslims in general.

The Qur'an explicitly commands followers to fight against non-believers until they convert or submit. Is it any wonder why we've had 1400 years of this behavior?

Our foreign policy affects countries around the globe. Why aren't Europeans or the Japanese fighting back? Why is it always Muslims? Would you have an equally low expectation for Europeans if they started committing terrorist attacks in Europe?

It's almost as if certain Amendments are sacrosanct, but not others.

That long history is quite varied and complex. Individuals who rely on empirical arguments can't really respond to the vagaries of your generalizations.

I saw that barbarism firsthand and was disgusted by it. But treating your women and children like dirt is not a threat to this country's national security, and the extant extremist movements who actually present such a threat are clearly the byproduct of American interventionism in the Middle East. You would like to bury your head in the sand and ignore the sectarian and interventionist dynamics of their resentment towards the US. That's fine. You aren't the only American living in a pro-western bubble.

It's an inconvenient fact for anyone who wants to blame the West for why there is such savagery in the Muslim world to recognize that there is a very long history of Muslims going to war against non-Muslims.
