You mean I'm not catering to your cherry picking? I can post what I like thanks. There's your balloon right there.

Using 'rates' isn't cherry; it's reflecting the change in population, too. You be you.

Well we don't want your rates in Australia, however you pickle 'em. Part of the solution is we 'manage' the type of weapons available and keep 'gun cultures' at bay. We like to think this is approach is working and our school kids thank us for having one less thing to get anxious about.

Would the laws in Australia be Constitutional in the US?

The most commonly used firearm in mass shootings and all murders in the US is the 9mm pistol. Are those legal to own in Australia?

As many that are schools that have ground floor exterior walls made of glass. How ever much it costs.
    <Mod Edit>

From past history, those that stalk, harrass, assault, torture, etc their peers and random household pets.
Example: One of the more recent winners was known to 1) torture animals for fun; 2) follow his peers around and attack them from ambush with pellet guns; 3) had a planned out journal that would've been found had anyone cared to check; 4) asked his sister to buy him a gun underage, despite his parents (each) turning him down already.

Each of those alone is actionable by itself. All together, the fact he didn't get a 72 hour hold and a psych eval is actually criminal.
We can start with those and the security features and assess from there.

Hilarious! as you scan kids through a security checkpoint when they go to school.

you obviously want a society where only criminals and the state have firearms. I do not.

Not at all. Western Australia, for example, has over 300,000 guns. What we don't want is a gun culture where reaching for a gun is a solution to your problems.

Again what is the cost? It is one thing to throw out ideas like this but it is another to get funding

    upload_2023-6-13_11-32-32.png
    https://www.weareteachers.com/how-m... there,education and career/technical schools.
According to this website there are over 115,000
    https://admissionsly.com/how-many-schools-are-there/
this site says more than 130,000. Now increasing the security measures for all those facilities is going to cost how much?

    https://abcnews.go.com/US/locked-doors-impact-deterring-school-shootings/story?id=97235380

Do you know what a cheaper option might be?

    Mandating locking up guns

And THAT is why I detest the misinformation peddled by the NRA. It reaches beyond America

Fortunately this belief that you cannot defend yourself without a gun has not overtaken us yet

    How much are children worth?

How will that stop the owner of the guns from using them?

DC v Heller prevents such a law.

should we go to Australia and flood their boards with attacks on the stupid Australian laws because we despise the misinformation peddled by Australian gun banning advocates who post here?

More that the price if a locked gun cabinet mate - more than that at least. My point is there are no “easy” solutions. One solution that we know has and does work is locking the guns away. How you then access that gun is YOUR problem but as I keep saying if you think your only means of defence is a gun you might as well hand the undertaker a shovel nd go and lie in a grave

this is based on your extensive training in individual self defense? or is it is an unlearned opinion based on the fact that you have a deep seated hatred for american gun rights and the advocate for gun rights, the NRA. In many cases, your only means of DEFENSE is a firearm.

If you like - please please try it - not all the boards are moderated and Aussies don’t always hold back

Nope! Based on the fact that countries with strict gun laws have lower murder rates than the USA

and countries like Mexico with severe gun control have higher rates. and let's cut the bullshit-crime control is not what motivates hard core gun banners. It is about control, not public safety. and I was questioning your unlearned claims about self defense
