Oh! Come on! Mexico doesn’t have “severe gun control” not with an active lucrative smuggling operation from the USA going on. It is the main reason why there are no restrictions on straw purchases in the USA - gun manufacturers don’t want to choke off the lucrative market

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022...021 complaint, defendants named in the lawsuit.

like most gun banners-you change the goal posts. you pretend that if there is widespread weapons availability (to criminals) despite severe restrictions-that's no different than say the USA where honest people can-in most cases-easily acquire LEGAL firearms.

Go for it. You might even find one or two who will agree with you, but if the dozen or so Aussies on this board are any indication (actually one is very pro gun) I think you will find overall your attempts will not be met with great hurrahs

I lock my guns away. If it's an unconstitutional law, how does it get passed?

    How does it get enforced?

haven't you figured out that we don't care about the views of subjects from a nanny state nation concerning our rights. We see Aesop's fox at work

200k per school at 130k schools. 26 billion. As stated: A perfectly acceptable cost. FFS we spend more than that on drug enforcement and foreign aid.

As to your article: You realize the school I used as an example earlier, Sandy Hook, had a locked door? Made of glass? In a wall.... made of glass?
Do you see how things like that make your article's stat about locked doors ****ing useless?
Do you see how my point is that what does it matter if you lock a door made of glass?
    Sure you do.

Ah yes, another law restricting the law abiding who aren't the problem. How quaint. You realize its already illegal to murder children? Criminals won't follow the law, and you haven't hardened ANY of the targets in the slightest.

A constitutional amendment would be required, and that's not cheap.
Further, people would have to agree to be disarmed in public, not going to happen.
So you'd have to force it. Which will cause a civil war. How much do you expect that to cost? Purely in money now, we're not talking the lives that will be destroyed or lost.

Mexico has some of the most strict gun laws on the planet.
Gun ownership is essentially totally illegal.

Your own penal colony has a lucrative smuggling operation. Your gangs are actually storied the world over for their acumen at making and selling arms.

gun banners see legal gun ownership as usually worse than illegal gun ownership and intermix the two constantly

Proof that the lack of mass shootings in Australia has nothing to do with its gun control laws.

You still don't understand that correlation does not prove causation?
    How can that be?

One of these rounds is fired by the AR15.
The other is one of the most popular hunting rounds in north America.

Which do you think is high-powered?
