Trump failed to secure the border. What makes you think he will succeed if re-elected?

The Pandemic was the reason the last time.
Would there be another if the 2x impeached gets in again?

Yep, I spend an hour on the Internet, finding articles where commentators say that the Democrats are letting millions of illegals into the country to give themselves control of elections forever. I post them with links, and you blow me off in two seconds. I am not going to waste my time. It's the game you guys always play.

I'm far from the only one who sees the Biden administration strategy. The illegals don't come across the border wearing "Biden for president" t-shirts and flying Biden flags for nothing. The illegals also allow the states like New York and California to keep their seats in Congress and Electoral votes because they make up for the American citizens who have left those states for red states.

You sound like George Washington, who hated "factions." It didn't work 220+ years ago, and it won't work now.

The political parties today are factions.

And what will Biden change if he gets reelected? Maybe push the asylum appeal process back to the applicants home country? That's basically how legal immigrants have to do it; they're investigated and interviewed before being issued entry documents. And yes this IS an agonizingly long process - we need to do something about that.
Asylum need to be reserved for those under PERSONAL threat or danger; just living in a violent, s**t hole country is not sufficient.

Seems to me that you have a habit of labeling those you disagree with as progressive democrats. You labeled me as such even though I am for paying down debt, securing the borders and never have and probably never will support the Democrats in elections.

Just because people disagree with you does not automatically mean they are a progressive Democrat. Yes we are not on the same team, but none the less we are allied on some policies. Don’t be so quick to make enemies of potential allies.

In America the Democrats and Republicans are minorities. The largest voting block are *******s like me, the politically independent. And many of us are not fans of the Democrats or Republicans.

Um.....remain in Mexico was not a law, and that's the problem. Maybe it should have been, or could be a law, but Congress refuses to act

What observation did he have about illegal immigration?

Yes, its too valuable of a campaign tool for GOP to give away

    Standard answer to everything

I don’t defend Biden. Didn’t vote for him and am frustrated that he is the best the Democrats can produce. It’s pathetic! Also frustrated that Trump is the best Republicans can produce and find it pathetic as well!

I want border security and am tired of listening to the ineffectual impotent bickering of both the political left and right. Seems to me that neither is serious about securing the border. I say that if you are serious about border security then don’t vote Republican or Democrat. Time for more political options that the RNC or DNC.

All the illegals have to say when they cross our border is, “I am being persecuted in my country for political reasons.” The people they pay to get them across the border tell them to say that. As soon as they say that, it’s catch and release, and they get a court reappearance date years from now, which they will ignore. The administration is now flying people in from South America to cut down on the southern border foot crossings.

You can’t get in legally for economic reasons. Persecution claims in your home country is the legitimate excuse. Economics is not.

Stay in Mexico slowed them down because getting jammed up on the Mexican border for months was a disincentive to come. Now they cross the border, and they get a free phone, food, housing, medical care in California and free debt cards in New York.

Was Trump perfect on the border? No, but at least he made the effort. Biden puts in no effort to fix the border. In fact what he’s doing is quite the opposite.

If you elect Biden, it will only get worse.

I have posted this elsewhere now a few times, so I'm doing the readers digest version for you.
    The solution to securing our borders is;
    1) Applications for immigration/asylum accepted ONLY at our overseas offices. Applications will not be accepted in America or at our borders, any attempt will result in immediate deportation.
This does two things; first it eliminates the inhumane need for people to make dangerous, expensive treks to our borders. They can make application wherever it is convenient for them near their home. Second, it lets border patrol do it's prime mission of patroling our border, not babysitting tired, hungry, desperate people.
    2) Bond Visas.
Half of all ILLEGAL MIGRANTS came here on a visa and simply never left. Requiring a bond puts these folks in the same boat as fugitives, and the same outcome; arrested, jailed and for ILLEGAL migrants, deportation.
    3) Enforce the no work no federal funds laws.
E-Verifile works, and should be used for all job openings. Violations for companies and for applicants should be severe and immediate. This removes the biggest single reason for people to come here ILLEGALLY. We have and can expand a work visa program for those who just want to work, but don't want citizenship. Better to control it than let unscrupulous employers take advantage of a shadow work force.

    4) We need to sort out the MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL MIGRANTS HERE NOW.
The reality is, we cannot deport 20 MILLION people, and we don't need to. If someone has been here for say, 10 years, has imbedded into our society, and not been a law breaker (except for the first one of crossing the border ILLEGALLY) let them pay their penitence and make them citizens. Send the rest away.

    Here here, very well said.
I posted about not having labels like dem party or R party and I get called George Washington like by that poster. Like that's a bad thing?????

I wish we didn't vote by party but by person only. As you said, Independents determine who win the elections, but unfortunately, it's one of the 2 piss poor POS party people.
Who care more about reelection 1st and their party 2nd. And the people? Well they bring out political nonsense in elections to appease the BS partisan hacks who are NOT like me or George Washington.

Correct. IF there is an immigration problem, presidents and EOs don't solve it.
    ONLY CONGRESS can solve it.
Guess which party decided to vote against a bipartisan Senate bill to start fixing the immigration issue.
Hint, the 2x impeached told that party to reject it.

    Why?

So they could use it as campaign fodder. The 2x impeached has no intention of stopping immigration. His golf courses and hotels need that labor.
That's why Mexico didn't pay for any wall. Only transferred military funding built a couple of mile of wall under the 2x impeached.

Why not post the facts about only having to state, "I am being persecuted" as the means to legal entry?

Lets see some real data to back up a claim, for a change. Then real debate can take place.
Or just repeat fake news. Your choice.

I think just a feeling of uncertainty that if they spend all those months traveling around the world that they may not get in at the end.

Not if your articles are factual and honest.
Not from some RW fake news source.

Democrats don't control the border. US Laws and international laws we abide by are what runs the border control.

And you will never find an honest article that supports illegal immigrants can vote.
    And they vote for democrats.

trump can do no different than any other president.

Sure, he can make families upset when he takes their kids away and separates them from their families.
But he is still bound by US and International laws about immigration.

He only had the stay in Mexico plan work due to the pandemic being a national risk.

There will always be some amount of people who will be able to cross our border illegally. The question is whether or not we will have policies that try to stop them or if we will have policies that invite them. We know under the Biden administration that the border effectively doesn't exist for any purpose other than to enrich the cartels. There is no enforcement. That must change for the safety and security of our nation.

I don't recall Trump ever calling for a "surge to the border" and for "unrelenting waves of immigration" and what those sorts of expressions do to foreigners.

Because he has the will and he would have overwhelming support from the public?

I couldn't find an explanation for why the policy was implemented. It's pretty horrific for the people seeking asylum.

I was commenting on Remain in Mexico being as the result of the pandemic. That's an extremely weird take.

    Yes, I know.

I was googling to find out more about it and was compelled to read accounts of the experiences of the asylum seekers. It was not a take - it was a response to what I read.
