    From the article...

President Donald Trump says he's leaving Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after spending three nights in the hospital being treated for coronavirus, an experience he recklessly downplayed in a message announcing his discharge.

"Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life," Trump wrote, even as his doctors warned he wasn't yet "out of the woods." The building he's returning to has become a center for viral contagion -- in part because of disregard for mitigation measures.

The message was jarring not only because it was irresponsible but that it came from a current coronavirus patient who has experienced serious symptoms of the disease and whose recovery has included experimental treatments unavailable to most Americans.

Trump seems determined to remind us of why voting to give him another four years could be a huge mistake.

Sounds like a good message to me. Bidens message is to hide under the bed and hope it goes away.

Trump is right. We cannot let our lives be dominated by fear of COVID or anything else. Hiding, and living in fear, is a terrible alternative.

You deal with it and keep living, especially considering only a tiny fraction of people will die from COVID.

That said, I continue to pray for Trump, and am very happy that it sounds like he will not be one of the "tiny fraction" who die from COVID.

Voting to give Trump another four years is the best thing we can do for this country.

Well.... as long as Biden is hiding, you can't really be sure who's running the country for him... And isn't that really the point?

Yes if you’ve got a doctor at your house, a helicopter in your yard and access to all sorts of experimental treatment, you might be ok.

I kind of wish he'd stay in the hospital a little bit longer. I get it that he's got a billion-and-one responsibilities, but resting for even just one more day probably couldn't hurt and would definitely be well-earned.

Hospitals aren't prisons. They have done all they can. Rest is in God's hands.

He is right. Those who live in fear die a thousand times.

I think most of us have had enough of President Turmoil. He shows no sign of taking SARS-CoV-2 seriously.

He is damaging the economy by (1) not getting the COVID-19 cases down so people will again visit the malls, dine out, etc., and (2) not supporting those COVID-19 puts out of business because people won't buy what they're selling.

We can get the numbers down if people have effective PPE. Get everyone an N-95 mask. You don't have to look like a bug.

    D886AD74-45F6-45AF-878C-A6A8F0DE6345.jpeg

If we cut down on the transmission by protecting ourselves--and enough people will do it to get the R0<1--we can pretty much open up the economy. We don't have to force people to wear a mask because enough will just to protect themselves.

Most people, most of the time, in most places can skip the mask if we get the positive rate wayyyy down so there's almost no virus around.

If we can hang on by making enough effective PPE, getting new cases down, we can hope we get a cure or develop effective treatments and vaccines.

Some folks are just jealous that Trump has the right idea and attitude here.
Being in constant shutdown causes more problems. Learning to live our lives while taking precautions is the answer.

As expected, Trump has learned nothing from this episode. He is incapable of learning. If he had learned, maybe he would have expressed empathy with the 209,000 victims for the first time. Instead, he is back to his old self, politicizing and attacking Dems. Sad.

Everything that you listed is a responsibility of the individual states. When Trump tried to assume “total authority” of the states back in April, everybody complained that he didn’t have the authority to do that. Hence, it is what it is.

They may not die of fear--or anything else--but they don't go to the mall. The more virus around, the less they go out and the less they spend. Having a lot of virus around kills the economy. Having less virus helps it.

How do we get the numbers down? My thoughts...

I don't think Trump gets it. Maybe Joe does. We don't have to go at this with a heavy hand.

The damage to the economy was done by the shutdowns. We are now in a rebuilding phase.

The majority of the fear of returning to malls, restaurants etc. is because of the left's fearmongering and politicization of COVID ---- the CNN watchers and the Trump haters are convinced they're all going to die if they leave their houses to go anywhere other than Walmart or a riot ---- but you can't blame that fear on Trump, who has been the voice of reason and calm throughout this.

    The IFR is incredibly low.
And with positive PCR and antibody infection numbers growing, only getting smaller.

    Your message rings hollow.
An insignificant number of voters actually know anybody who has died, and if they do, the death was largely unsurprising as 80 year old drop dead from othewise harmless ilnesses, by the score, every year
