Just in on CNN, can't find an article yet. developing story

To be fair to the prez, there is such a thing as false positive,
but he had the longer test, so it's not as fallible as the short test.

It's almost impossible to have a false positive when it's the RT-PCR test. Believe me, he's got it. So did the First Lady.

By now there are multiple threads about this; the most complete being the one that started with just Hope Hicks being positive.

I'd think, only if Trump gets very sick and gets hospitalized. If he has an asymptomatic case or a mild case I guess he could continue to man the Presidency via teleconference.

Could it be an assassination attempt? One could expect everything from the Left.

Make Trump Healthy and President Again

I was about to say, when will the conspiracy theories start? There we go, it's been started.
Do you think Hope Hicks is a leftist? She was the one who passed it onto him, most likely.

as President, I am sure he had multiple tests to confirm as this will keep him from having rallies, which I am sure he wanted to do

thoughts and prayers for Trump and his wife.....

you mean someone not wearing a mask around him, I think they were republicans

but I could see the right trying to throw that conspiracy theory against the wall to see if it sticks

They could put it in his food you know. Or on a door handle in the WH toilet. It doesn't take much effort to implant this little bugger into human body. :xd:

If you are not being sarcastic, you are wrong. Transmission by food has never been confirmed and transmission by fomites (objects) is 2%. The real transmission is via respiratory droplets and aerosol. As in, the beautiful Hope Hicks talking to Trump closely.

Trump's risk of dying from Covid-19:
A study in Spain found that men aged 70-79 have a 5% death rate.
A study by UNC found that obesity increases the death rate by 48%.
Grossly, if Trump doesn't have other medical conditions he's hiding from us (such as hypertension and diabetes), his risk is about 7.5%.

So the President fortunately has a 92.5% chance of recovery. Like I said he will get top medical care. Say, that top care increases his survival rate some more, maybe bumping it back to 95%.

The bottom line is, there is only one chance in 20 that the president will die of Covid-19.

I wish him a full recovery.

    So...

    the question becomes

if he succumbs to the virus, albeit temporarily does Pence continue with the campaign?

More to the point let us say that Trump and Biden succumb as everyone who was at the debate gets it - does the election the become Harris versus Pence

On a more basic note, will this change the Veep debate? Will they need extra distancing?

Pence, baby, you got some splainin' to do!

So do I. However, the consensus is that Covid has many lingering effects, particularly on the elderly.

I do not think that our Nation should require another term of a man who has already done more than most men do to the favor of his fellows. It is time now for him to see how he fares as an eminence grise. Perhaps his career there will be even more salubrious than this present one has proven

Average life expectancy for a U.S. male today is 78. He's already 74, so, Covid or otherwise, he's in his golden years.

So can we now expect the far right to accept the truth? NO WAY. Instead prepare yourselves for an avalanche of incredible conspiracy theories that even a child of six could believe.

The next question is how much has the disease has spread in the White House, what plans they have to work remotely.

IOW, how much will Trump's incompetence compromise the day to day work in the White House?

"If a candidate dies before the general election but after they've secured their party's nomination, it's a relatively simple fix: The deceased candidate's party picks a replacement (who may or may not be the vice presidential candidate from the ticket), and that replacement is on the ballot on Election Day. Both the Republican and the Democratic parties have rules about how their parties would fill the vacancy."

presidents have had the flu and common cold before, the VP didn't take over

why do you think that covid is devastating to everyone when in fact, that's the furthest thing from reality?
