When Trump took office in 2017, both the House and Senate were Republican-led. Why didn't they accomplish anything other than a multi-billion dollar tax cut for the rich?

 

We are entitled to own guns. The 2nd Amendment says so. And there is no way in hell that congress will ever try to rewrite the 2nd, or that 37 states would ratify the change if they did.

I compare Trumps efforts to keep his promises like build the wall to Bidens promises. Trump tried over and over, and still is. Biden can't remember what he said yesterday. Or if he is was still a vice president after Trump took office. Or who's dead, or when.

If this were a situation comedy, Biden would be the perineal joke. Even Obama knew it was coming. Conservatives knew it was coming. Only the sheep in the democratic herd didn't see it coming- and some don't know it's happening to them.

IF it were a comedy, we would all be laughing. But many of us are crying at the same time, holding out hope that America can be saved.

 

As a gun owner, I call bee ess on that over-the-top generalization. I resent being told how owning a gun makes me feel. As a single senior female living in a gun-friendly state, I don't feel powerful, I feel safe.

I get you, I really do. Too many "collectors" fit your description. I would prefer a ban on the various rapid-fire assault-type rifles, and I would also prefer a more extensive background database that includes not just arrest records or court documents, but some form of mental fitness information. One of the problems with that, though, is the invasiveness. For example, if you suffer from clinical depression and have used anti-depressant drugs, should that disqualify you from owning a gun? I think not, but who gets to decide such details?

Fair enough. Point well taken. As for YT.... I don't need a weapon, don't want one and would not have one. I have seen what weapons do to a body, how these incidents can traumatize for life, and how the shooters "justify" their actions It is not just those dramatic shootings we hear about , it is all those other gun incidents that don't make the news that are a big factor .. If folks feel they NEED to have weapons to feel "safe" and "secure'...... then fine. As long as they realize the responsibility that this involves... in use and storage and preventing someone else from getting a hold of it.
