These are the Misurata wing of the NTC rebels.

As you can see he is walking from the pipe and then you see 1/3rd way through the pistol held to his head and shots being fired. Then lots of blood.

Very disturbing and his 3 remaining sons will no doubt be looking for revenge on who were responsible for this day and these images of their father.

I am sure this video will be pulled off U Tube very soon.

    Very graphic!!!! so be warned!!!

True Margot, he died the way he said he said he would. He is not a victim of NATO but of the people he oppressed for too long.

I also find it interesting that Abu predicts so much negative for Libya, all the while feeling that the revolution in his own country was more justified in some way. Murabak stepped down, Ghadaffi insisted on dying.

Khadafi had no friends in the Arab world.. He was too vain and treacherous and embarrassing.

    NO redeeming qualities.

Remember when he declared himself King of Kings?

Chavez and Mugabe might have taken him into exile and let him live out his life, if he had left Libya before he ran out of money.

    NATO did not kill him.
Where did I say they did?
They did kill plenty on the convoy they hit though.
Lots of burned bodies on the road beside the trucks they were in fleeing Sirte.

Gaddaffi did not insist on dying as you can clearly see from the videos. He was pleading for his life. A crazy eccentric old man pleading for his life.
The similarity if any with Egypt is both had sons who were 'running things'.

I don't know people, how can we celebrate death? Anyone's death?
Revenge hardens your heart, doesn't it?

Egypt is not culturally like Libya or Kuwait or Saudi Arabia..
Iran is not like Iraq or Qatar .. and Bahrain is not like Lebanon.

I didn't spend much time in an expat compound.. Mostly I was out and about.

Why do you think Khadafi had no friends in the Arab world?

    I just read your link

Egypt's grey economy swells in post-Mubarak turmoil

Have you ever been to Attaba?

I was there about 3 weeks ago when my wife wanted to buy some English books and English magazines from the kiosk vendors.

It was Friday morning early before prayers. you would think that it would be quiet at that time but the metro was packed, the steps up to the Attaba packed, the vendors stalls were all busy. I saw a few sunglasses ones and mainly Chinese rubbish ones and some mobile phone accessory ones. My wife tried a few sunglasses but didn't like any shapes. There were however young girls buying them and even if one girl bought a pair he would have made 20le. That is 2 Sterling pounds. That is what? $3.50???
We bought her books and magazines and I bought another wallet for one of my mobiles and he was doing a very good trade in business I can assure you. we bought cold drinks from the guy with the ice box on his shoulders. Then made our way back down to the metro home before prayers when it gets busy.

I'm more intererested in the Police and what they are up to than Attaba sunglass sellers.

By the way just so you know.

I can buy 4 felafel and fuul (beans) and 2 slices of bread in my compound for 3 Egyptian pounds. A lebanese roast chicken pannini with mayo grilled with ketchup sachet for 8le. one of those can easily fill you. I can't eat 2 as they are full Lebanese style bread filled with chicken.

Egypt's economy wasn't strong before Mubarak.. They are a poor country with a huge population..

Did you read where the Brits are investing 5 million pounds.

Would you say that Egypt's economy is doing well?

On the one hand I find the video disgusting, but on the other hand, why on earth should I or anyone else concern our selves at all with the death of a tyrannical monster?

I think sometimes we allow our emotions toward humanity to cloud our view of subhumans and their wretched demise. So, I look at that and I can think the men killing him were savages, but they simply react like dogs who have been beaten to the point of rage.

All I mourn for in seeing this is humanity itself, that beasts like Mo could ever live to torment so many. I am pleased he is now rotting.

First Iran is not Arab Margot!

Second we are all of the region and we are culturally alike.
Religious, conservative, family orientated, respectful of elderly, protective towards women and children, the men are the workers and providers, the men are the home providers and protectors, culturally and religiously we do not drink alcohol or gamble, we are all crazy drivers, we all say Inshallah and bismillah, we fast, we go to Hajj, men pay for things not women, we all know the basha and rayes and mohandes status, we rarely marry outside our social class, we all eat halal except Christians, women do not walk about half naked, men do not walk around half naked, we pray, how long do you want the list to be?

Why did Gaddaffi have no friends in the Arab world you ask.

First of all do you mean every single Arab? or just tsome Arabs?

Second the man was clearly insane so it is very difficult to take him seriously.
Just as this ruler was not taken seriously

The whole world economy is not doing well but Egyptians are not losing homes like Americans because of our culture.
Family ties are strong and they support all members.
Much wealth has been syphoned out of the country by the corrupt.
Various countries are investing in projects and the Japanese have just announced the funding of the 4th Metro line phase 1. Turkey has been in my area in talks about investing in opening factories in the industrial estate close to me. They have pledged billions.

If we have security then we can easily recover as we have Suez, minerals, tourism, huge young workforce eager to rebuild who are not afraid of work.

If we were such a risk then why is everyone so eager to help and invest and open projects?
Security is the only thing we need to sort to get back and running.

So because of family, they can provide a safety net for others. In America many members of of family have lost jobs so the safety net is shrinking.

I agree that that the Suez Canal transit fees are an economic boon to Egypt, but is it enough?

If it looks like brutal mob rule, and it smells like brutal mob rule, then it likely is brutual mob rule.

And these are the people who may form the basis of the next leadership?

The West want us to believe that they did all this out of care for the protestors in Libya. How warm and fuzzy. Sure, I could see why, after four decades of his rule, some Libyans may have wished for change, maybe without even knowing what to.

I can see why they may wish to remove what we would conventionally see as a dictator figure.

But the moment those involved in this asked for help from UK, France, and the US, they became responsible for their actions, and those actions have to be in accordance with international law - hence, if this mob killed him, then there could be a case for a war crime being committed.

It is interesting how, despite having the ability, imo, to do so, that figues like Bin Laden or Gadaffi are not being taken and brought to answer for their alleged crimes, but being bumped off.

Some may cheer at that, the bloodthirsty mob of today, much like their primative ancestors. But one has to wonder if they are being killed with another agenda in mind? After all, if you kill them, rather than try them, then all their secrets die with them. Secrets that various Western leaders would love to v much keep.

I'm a little disappointed with these Muslims. Aren't they suppose to behead him? And why didn't they use a tripod? Don't they usually have a camera on a tripod with AK47s in the background?

I think you are confusing 1.9 billion Muslims with a few thousand Wahabi inspired jihadists.
