This is how the Human being acts in a crowd. A ruthless creature, like a pack of wolves, or felines.

Had a hitman, solo, found Gaddafi, the killing would've been nothing more than the act of efficiency. Find him, kill him, end of story.

Yes, but at some point the slaughtering needs to come to an end. If this ends all the problems, then great. Yet, repeating the faults of the past is not a good sign.

Seems we have a name of the assassin who said he put 2 bullets into Gaddaffi.
One in his chest and one in his head.

On the video, Ureibi, said to have been born in 1989, is shown being interviewed by several unidentified men, some of them wearing military fatigues, who are congratulating him.

They showed to the camera a gold ring and a bloody jacket allegedly belonging to Gaddafi, with the ring being engraved with the name of his second wife, Safia, and the September 10, 1970, date of their marriage.

"I fired two bullets at him, one hit under his armpit, the other his head. He did not die immediately. It took him half an hour," he said.

He described being separated from members of his brigade in Benghazi and his decision to join fighters in Misrata when new regime forces assaulted Sirte, Gaddafi's hometown.

"We came across Gaddafi in a street, as he was walking with some children and girls.

"He was wearing a hat. We recognised his hair, and a fighter from Misrati said to me, 'That's Gaddafi; let's get him'."

Ureibi said he neutralised the ex-Libyan leader, who was carrying a gold pistol, by grabbing his arms.

"I slapped him. He said to me 'you are like my son.' I slapped him a second time. He said, 'I am like your father.' Then I grabbed him by the hair and put him on the ground."

He said he wanted to take Gaddafi to Benghazi, but when Misrati fighters insisted on taking the fallen leader back to their city, he decided to open fire and shot Gaddafi twice.

He said the Misrata fighters confiscated his pistol and threatened him with death if he returned to Libya's third city.

An Islamonazi loser tyrant gets his just reward dieing with the same sense of terror that his murderous regime inflicted on who knows how many of his people. I tried to shed a gracious tear for a lost life, but I just didn't have it in me. Good ridence to a foul human being.

Not a pretty picture .. He was eating pasta and rice scavenged from abandoned houses and wanted to know why there wasn't any water.

Khadafi should have saved himself and his family.... and left Libya in April.

What a fascinating video, refreshing to read something that informs and educates, rather than something that is the usual 'HE IS A MONSTER WHO KILLED BILLIONS' rhetoric.

I would have to research to determine whether or not many of those postives attributed to him are true, I am not doubting you, it is just that I have made the mistake before of taking something at face value, then finding out later it was not quite as presented on the vid.

It clearly shows a v different side to the story, and one that is not encouraged on Western media.

You have to understand that all but the most enlightened of Americans on forums simply do not understand a leader or Gov who actually put the well being of it's own people first. They do not see the social benefits of good health care for all, they are blind to the benefit of encouraging education, as free as possible from the ball and chain of money. You are often dealing with a mindset that is not the most flexible, let's put it that way. If it ain't like them, and it's not thinking as they do, then it must be wrong, evil, rogue, and therefore, fair game to attack.

Is it really as many as 30,000 Libyans dead?

We have almost become desensitised to such figures.

People argue over the numbers of Iraqi women and children killed, and it is distasteful in a way, since the margin they are arguing over is HUGE whatever way war mongers would like to spin it.

If that figure of 30,000 were true, then to all but a psychopath, this could not be seen as a success.

Of course, the deaths will be explained away as 'Gadaffi militants', but I doubt there were 30,000 of those, and what is a 'Gadaffi militant' anyway, is it merely a supporter of the Col who was prepared to fight to retain Libya, as it was?

Just as civilians of this nation may use force, if 'rebel groups', funded and backed by foreign powers, tried to usurp our system.

We would repel that, so would we be 'militants'?

Col has long been a colourful charachter, to say the least.

He has had many accusations aimed at him, including that of funding to the IRA, Lockerbie of course (albeit that was mentioned in vid), as well as supposedly giving orders to fire on unarmed protestors.

In the soup of lies, half truths, and vested interests, it is almost hard to know what the real truth is anymore, just how the elites like it.

First of all yes he was a dictator, people were angry with him, and he had deserved his government and rule to be overthrown.

But, I don't believe he has deserved such brutality, torture, lynch and death. There's nothing morally acceptable about treating and 69-70 old man like this, not even it was dictator. He was lynched when he was begging for mercy and spare of his life. He said he will never flee from Libya and died in his homeland, his hometown.

He should've been tried and punished that way instead, I wish his end would've been like those dictators of Egypt and Tunisia. I wonder how those brutals in the video will "liberate" Libya and make a civilized government.

There are people on this site who excuse police for going off on someone who tried to elude them or resisted arrest because of the "heat of the moment"!

There are people on this site who excuse Marines in Iraq for going shooting families of women and children because of the "pressures of war".

NONE of the people I list had the cause for anger, frustration, and hatred of this dictator, who after 40 years of brutalization, had conducted attacks and killing of their neighbors and neighborhoods, brutal torture of children and other prisoners, and pointless and cruel violence on people at random.

I certainly couldn't guarantee I would withhold a bullet into him.

    But then again.....you haven't a clue!

When you know nothing of the subject other than the political dogma of a degenerate political sytem's opinion to set there dogs of war onto an unarmed civilian population of Libya makes one ignorant!

People have a hard time with double standards.

Thing is, they can't even see it.

This man provoked this reaction in the people he brutalised.

Morally it would have been better if he had been tried and punished (a right he never granted to his opponents), but the people had paid a heavy price and expressed that.
