What do you call blaming it on natural disasters. Obama always blames other things he is always right.

Wake me up when Obama has turned a surplus into a record deficit, started a trillion dollar 8 year war by "mistake," and left with the worst economy in 80 years.

The we can talk about damage you think Obama has done.

Who knows, but as to the alternative of being completely laid off with no money and no benefits, retirement is a desireable option.

    WHAT???

Man...you really should proof-read your posts before you click on "Submit Reply".

You've continuously attempted to make the case that when the Dems took over the Congress...poof...instant recession.

    IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY!

I can blame Bush...because we SEE the effects of his stupidity.
We are only NOW seeing the effects of Obama's stupidity.
    Unemployment is down.
The American economy is on the rebound.
    OBL is dead.
    The Iraq war is over.
Wall Street is making money hand over fist.
Millions have health insurance and can now afford to break a leg.
The auto industry is just now showing signs of profitability.

    Shall I really go on?

    Metaphor:
The car's engine ran great while the driver had the gas floored too. The problem is the engine finally blew, and then the driver handed it off to a new driver right after it seized! Now the new driver is getting grief because he isn't revving the engine as much as the last driver did!

"Boy that car ran so great right before it blew didn't it?!" :omg:

For Bush, we have the unfunded Bush tax cuts, primarily benefiting the very wealthy (trillions added to the debt), the unfunded Iraq war (multi-trillion in cost), the unfunded prescription drug expansion, the unfunded Medicare Advantage program, and the unfunded increases in national defense spending. We also have years of deregulation policies (in Bush's defense, some that extend back to Reagan) along with lax fed reserve policy and compliance by Congress that created the housing/credit bubble that brought the economy to its knees.

I'm not sure people giving up on finding work is good labor market news. However, I do concede it's wonderful news for Democrats, as these people giving up and relying on government assistance are likely to vote Democrat.

    Congratulations on your "victory".

_May 2005: Congress approved an $82 billion bill to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and international anti-terrorism efforts. Obama voted yes.

_June 2006: Congress cleared a $94.5 billion bill to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as provide aid to hurricane victims. Obama voted yes.

_September 2006: Congress cleared a $448 billion Pentagon funding bill that included $70 billion for U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama voted yes.

_April 2007: Congress cleared a $124 billion spending bill that provided $90 billion for war costs but mandated the withdrawal of U.S. troops within six months. Obama voted yes, but President George W. Bush vetoed the legislation.

_May 2007: Congress approved a roughly $100 billion spending measure to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and domestic projects, including hurricane relief. Obama voted no.

_December 2007: Congress cleared a $555 billion catchall spending bill that included $70 billion for U.S. military action in Iraq and Afghanistan. Obama did not vote.

_June 2008: Congress approved a measure to spend $162 billion for war costs as well as provide a 13-week extension of unemployment benefits and emergency relief for the flood-ravaged Midwest. Obama voted yes.

    ....What conviction.

anyone cares to explain why ue rate goes down but foodstamp enrollment goes up?

As of today, 47,429,681 folks are on foodstamp, that represents 15% of US population..

Interesting perspective... in this reply, you point to those who created the mess. In another thread, you describe part of the mess as the Bush tax cuts. How do you feel about Barack Obama extending the Bush tax cuts after campaigning so hard against them?

Bush was CiC. 100% of House Republicans gave Bush the authorization. In their defense, authorization came with caveats and is not the same as starting a war. 38% of House Democrats gave Bush this authorization.

Bush: Tax revenue cuts, Drug entitlement, huge increase in military spending, mistaken war, lack of regulation in housing market, easier home purchases.

Obama: Economic stimulus, health care reform, financial reform.

I think a rational person might assign at least some of that increase in food stamp patronage to the people who have simply given up on finding work. I am confident many of those people opt for food stamps if they haven't already.

But then again, one can simply take the liberal approach: It's all George W. Bush's fault!! ;)
