Liberals fight in the military, get wounded and die for this country.

And to say liberals hate the military is Un-American and Anti-American and shows NO support for our troops.

This position of yours is quite pathetic and in truth a stretch of your own imagination. This is another overblown petty attempt by you to insult liberals and Democrats.

While I agree the flight attendant could have been more accommodating, your immediate notion she is a liberal and the insults reflects a very poor thread and this really should be in the opinion section if not flagged for flame.

Do you understand what it means to put a statement in quotes as I did?

What do you expect from US Airway?

Their customer service isn't exactly legendary!

(actually it is. It's actually worse than the industry's dismal standard).

It's pretty obvious to me that you seldom fly.

It likely does...Many companies do prefer to hire vets due to their work ethic and discipline from having served in the military. It's no different than people who go out and rent expensive suits for job interviews. That doesn't mean he believes himself entitled to the job, it just makes a good first impression, the thing that matters quite a bit when interviewing for a job.

Well, your sensitive opinion is noted, but it doesn't negate the fact that if anyone in America dislikes or hates the military, they are sure to be a liberal. Now I know that must hurt, but it is the truth. The flight attendant refusing to hang the coat of a soldier would have a 99.9% odds of them disliking the military, especially after a first class passenger offered to exchange seats with the soldier.

    Huh?

"Petty non-issue thread" ? Are you serious? Do you understand the meaning of "irony"? I really, really, think you should go back and look at your OP again.

Sweet sunny Jaysus, there is no end to the things true patriots can manage to get outraged over.

I am sorry to see you have so much trouble with your reading comprehension, because I never said all liberals hate the military. What I said was when it comes to disliking, or hating the military it is always a liberal. Whenever an American flag is burned in America, it is always a liberal. Is it starting to sink in yet?

Yes, the irony, you claiming your Palin thread out trumps this thread? :roflol:

Am I being too partisan? You can know I am, I will never forget how I was treated when I returned home from Vietnam, and it wasn't conservative republicans treating me that way

Sorry you don't believe in the freedom of speech and thought our troops fought for.

As to your allegation , as usual, you have no proof.

Then perhaps you understand why we (black folks) don't like conservatives very much.

And I still have no ideas what you are talking about r.e.Palin. Maybe you have me confused with another Godless, Amerika hating liberal. Or maybe all that LSD25 fried my green tomatoes.

I agree with you that not all liberals hate the military. The majority of my family are full blown liberals and they have no problems with the military. Well most don't anyway...Most liberals have no issues with the military. They may not show the same level of outward support for the troops like conservatives do but that doesn't mean they hate them.

But this is one of those times when somebody can make a catchy signature quote and it will actually be true.

"Not all liberals hate the military but all those who do hate the military are liberal"

That is actually a true statement.

No one says they don't fight and die for our nation. You just can't stand knowing that all the disparaging remarks and vitriol for our military are from liberals. If you care to prove me wrong, be my guest. Hey fox, why don't you try and find a conservative that burns the American flag

My apologies Nat, I do have you confused with Natty Bumpo who started the current Palin thread. I am sorry for confusing you, that happen a lot when you get old. :roflol:

As to your comment about how "us black folks feel", I most certainly do, which is why you will never find a post from me saying anything disparaging about the color of your skin

Are there a lot of flags being burned currently? And how do you know the political ideology of the flag burners?

Not a lot of flags burned, but it stands to reason who burns flags by the comments about this thread, and a thousand other threads. Any disparaging remarks about our military are always from a liberal. Any protests or negative comment about our military are always from a liberal like John Kerry, Jane Fonda, and thousands of other celebrities and politicians.

There's a reason the perks are reserved for first class... To give the perks to economy class passengers devalues the whole idea of first class. The airlines want you to pay extra for those perks and they are certainly within their rights to do it. Though I appreciate this service member's service, he was not denied anything that he didn't deserve based on the status of his ticket.

So we just throw out the rules so we can all have warm fuzzy feelings?

Thank you for your service. I would bet that when you were active in the military, you said little to nothing about being a liberal. I also can imagine you embrace the disparaging remarks made my liberals like John Kerry, Jane Fonda and countless other liberals about the military

Is this a fact or are you just guessing?

I am a 1.5 million-miler on AA: They will upgrade uniformed service members on space A basis, but they will not hang your coat in the closet if you are seated in coach. Those closets are reserved for first class passengers only. It is a perk.

This is much ado about nothing. And Fox actually ran this story? Must have been a REALLY REALLY slow news day...

He was offered by another first class passenger to switch seats, why was that denied? Why would this airline attendant have such a problem with this serviceman? US Airways apologized for this incident, if they were in the right, that wouldn't have happened

I agree, however in a society that respects the military highly like ours does and when so many companies are willing to accommodate military personnel it makes a company look bad when they are the only one who doesn't. Not saying they should, or are obligated to, but them not doing so causes news stories like this. The airline itself even apologized and is trying to reach out to the Soldier. Part of that might be due to the negative publicity they just received and part of it might be due to them actually feeling bad that this happened.

It's kind of like when I go out shopping and ask if the company offers a military discount. Some do and some don't. I don't keep specific track of who does or doesn't so I always ask before buying. The ones that don't offer them will call a manager over who will give it to me anyway 90% of the time because 1) they think the company should, and 2) they don't want to be "that" company who doesn't.
