Look into what "food secure" actually means. In a nutshell, it means that were you cut off from the rest of the world, you could still feed your citizens indefinitely. You have nothing to worry about. If things get bad, close your borders and start looking after yourselves. That method has worked for us for thousands and thousands of years. It's why we're still here in fact - because when danger threatens we hunker down and protect our resources and our tribe.

You're saying that meat is essential for most of the US? Sorry, but that's just silly. Meat is not essential, period. Doesn't matter where you live.

 

There are crops withering in the fields. There is work to do.
