Who says things will automatically cost more? Price is determined by demand mostly. If a company finds cheap labor do they lower the price of their product out of the kindness of their heart? That is the way business is supposed to be run. A willing buyer and a willing seller are where the two ends meet. Charge as much as customers are willing to pay and hope that covers expenses so that you have a profit at the end of the year. Have your CFO or accountant revise projections at least monthly to determine if you should raise prices further.

If you don't have a profit you must look at laying off employees to cut expenses, cutting out frills like business giving to charities and political campaigns, look again to cut more frills and froth, look again to cut more frills and froth, or look at closing the business.

 

And the reality of it is, THE more they test the lower the mortality percentages go simply because the death rate isn't rising faster then the test are proving recovered beyond hospital admittance's.. Once the 30min immunity test comes out then we are really going to see just how stupidly our politicians and Media hyped the bullshit up

That’s irrelevant when we are discussing a death rate. Assuming every single person in the world had the virus the death rate of 55,000 deaths is minuscule. Now of course the entire world doesn’t have it. But that’s an extreme example to point out you can’t JUST look at the totality of the number of deaths. The rate of infected DOES matter. And the more infected there are, the less deadly the disease is.

You have to weigh that against the risk of shutting down the whole country which could cause irreparable harm to far more people than COVID could.

 

That is one in six thousand and a large number of them already had health problems and there was a pretty good chance they were going to die anyway. Even very small percentages of very large numbers can look alarming until you actually spend a couple of minutes examining them.

Risk???? Where the hell did you get the idea that there is a choice? Either we shut down the country or the virus shuts it down, just on the sheer number of dead and sick people and lack of hospital beds.

I don't think it's even worth it to try to explain to you why it's better that we shut it down while we still have some control over the spread of the virus. You'd probably need to be much more informed about this before you'd be able to grasp it.

But let me tell you this: it has been the unwillingness of this President to do what he has to do that has making this worse and worse. Even if he had put all the appropriate mechanisms in January (there is a manual), if he had taken all the precautions (restricting travel to China was fine, but just a drop in the bucket) and taken all the actions, and had stopped trying to save the stock market instead of saving the people who work... we would have had a chance for this shut down to have been brief and maybe even localized. But every time some dope goes out convincing people that this is "irrelevant" (like the dopes on the Fox echo-chamber) , we take a step back, and people who might not have died, do die. And solving the problem as a whole becomes more difficult and lengthy.

 

Yeah... I remember the last time a western country took steps that would eliminate their citizens with "health problems"..... The story didn't end too well for them, though.

 

They can live off their own fat stores for a year or two.

Failing that, how about planting a food garden? Even apartment dwellers can manage it if they're serious. Or they could .. you know, not live in an apartment. Trade that prison cell for something with land, even if it's a run down trailer on a quarter acre in Nowheresville, it's going to be about a thousand times better for your survival and sanity than an apartment. Not to mention almost certainly cheaper.
