It would lead me to suspect that other countries do things differently than we do, making comparisons difficult under the best of circumstances.

The answer is a resounding YES. Here in Australia aprox 90% of the COVID patients in hospital are vaccinated. Most of the remaining 10 %? Either only partially vaccinated (one shot), elderly or otherwise afflicted by with chronic/serious health issues. Ad that's in the most populous States where something approaching 70% of the urban population is now fully vaccinated (Something like 80-80% have had their first shot and are waiting for their second).

That tells you how effective the first generation vaccines are. Second generation vaccines will be even more effectively. Hopefully good enough to almost completely block transmission and not just greatly reduce the incidence of severe illness.

So why do the US states with higher vaccination rates claim percentages of unvaccinated in their hospitals that are higher than in the states with lower vaccination rates?

Look, I totally believe those statistics in Australia are accurate. What I'm saying is it suggests fraud in certain states in the US.

Really ? The rates are so close, they are not significant, what’s the difference between 87% and 90% you’re doing something science doesn’t do without a lot more study.

Oh so you’re calling me a communist for bein* factual. In Maine the vast majority of rural communities vote gop every state and local election. Check the county break down for the nation. I did.

    https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#compare-trends_newcases

The map at the above link shows just how small the trend the OP claims really is.
Quite small when compare to Tx and Fl. 2 of the least unvaccinated states.

    Edit:
It seems one may have to delete some states and add in NE states.
The link didn't give exactly the states I put in the chart.

I voted red often when their candidate had a clue….like Bush one and local/state elections when peoples well being was more important than National hogwash….like environmental issues. Climate change and covid ?
Blue all the way as many independents have gone.

This is a good rundown of their lies on aerosol spread.
    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/09/21/cdc-covid-aerosols-airborne-guidelines/?outputType=amp
The CDC denied aerosol spread for months after experts in aerosols and infectious disease presented a plethora of evidence aerosols were causing transmission.

Here’s another lie. Probably killed more people than any other lie.

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/cloth-face-cover-guidance.html
Note the date, April 19, 2021. Of course anyone paying attention knows there was no shortage in April of 2021. Even the New York Times knew in early February of 2021 there was no shortage, but in fact a huge surplus.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ny...alth/covid-masks-china-united-states.amp.html
As I’ve pointed out to you before, the CDC didn’t stop telling this lie until September of 2021.

I’ve pointed out this lie before. Back in February of 2021 and again in June.

Want to throw any more fastballs over the plate for me to hit out of the park like the home runs above? LOL

I’ve been snickering about you referring to Trump as an “expert”. Good one. :)

Here is a quote from the cdc and aerosols in general.
Then the official position as it applies to covid now.
Read both and tell us any operative difference…..none.
Neither had any effect in their recommendations….none, nada nix.

    Respirators ?
You claim what, they were not critical supplies when the cdc did not recommend them ? They were.

guess what, they still don’t recommend them.

not because they don’t filter, but for the same reason they don’t recommend a scuba tank and mask.

you want further proof that n95 masks are not recommended by ANYONE ELSE in the non critical area.

There are no hospitals, clinics businesses etc that require them. Suitable cloth and medical and surgical masks are supplied in offices, hospitals and offices throughout the country when patients and customers come in without. Show one hospital that requires visitors or patients are required to wear n95 masks or respirators of any kind.

Do'it. The cdc is not alone. You’re now criticizing every hospital, medical research facility in the USA. They require “masking”:with NO REFERENCE to n95. None, nada, nix.

that was easy….just go to any business, hospital or university and tell us which ones require n95 masks. Do it.

Compared to Trump, he’s a fking genius. Been gagging on any industrial cleaner lately ? Oh. Trump according to him, won the election. He’s a deranged zoo keeper and his lemming animals buy anything. Trump lied so much, he made lying and idiocy standard fair, when he wasn’t shting his pants.

There may not have been a shortage of masks made, but there seemed to be a shortage of masks in distribution.

    ...
The US has N95 masks available -- you just can't find them
By Keri Enriquez and Kaitlan Collins, CNN

Updated 6:21 PM ET, Fri March 5, 2021

    ...
All seven companies CNN spoke to said they were not operating at their maximum capacity to make the most N95 masks possible.
Administration officials noted the challenge in connecting these smaller manufacturers with buyers because a lot of the major hospital providers prefer to go through their existing contracts. Many of the small manufacturers didn't have sales or distribution relationships as more established N95 manufacturers, so they've had a difficult time entering the market.

I have no interest in aerosols in general in relation to Covid. The fact is aerosol experts, physicians and researchers had to fight the CDC and the Biden administration to acknowledge aerosol spread.
    https://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/pressrele...halation-exposure-to-prevent-covid-19-infecti

The CDC knew aerosol spread was killing people but failed to admit it for months. Fact.

Yes I agree they are not recommended. The CDC did stop recommending AGAINST them in September of 2021. Finally. But failing to recommend them now is incorrect based on all empirical evidence showing their superiority in reducing transmission.

There has been NO shortage of N95 masks since the fall of 2020. But as I provided evidence, the CDC was still claiming a shortage in April of 2021. In fact they were still claiming shortages up until September 10, 2021. This is a blatant lie. It’s not even debatable. There was no shortage—even the NYT knew this fact—yet the CDC claimed there was a shortage.

Yes, I will continue to criticize every institution that recommends cloth masks over N95 quality and equivalent masks because they are denying science and causing unnecessary deaths. I will also criticize every person and institution that lied about availability of N95 masks, leading to deaths and the near bankruptcy of domestic producers of masks.

When you can produce evidence cloth masks are better than N95s in the form of a study or meta analysis of studies I will respond. Until then I will assume you are continuing to deny science on this matter.

Isn’t it funny that the supply chain won’t work to get N95s to people but I’ve been giving people links to sources of cheap domestic NIOSH certified N95s since the end of 2020? So strange that the CDC can’t link up buyers and sellers but I can? So strange the CDC won’t recommend good masks after all kinds of experts beg them to?

From your link (@dagosa you apparently didn’t read the link LOL):
Seems people at Harvard Medical School agree with me. Hmmm. The Biden administration and the CDC are outright science deniers. Sad. Even sadder everyone swallows the garbage advice they give.
